Be careful what you ask for…

Well, I said that Buffy would need a miracle to get out of her region in the RedEye Superhero Tournament, and it looks like something special can happen.  After trailing Thor early in the first round, a whole S#&t-load of Buffy fans rushed in a voted her into the Sweet Sixteen!

Now she’s going up against THE BATMAN (cue ominous music) and things could get dicey there…

So, to quote Al Michaels: ‘Do you believe in miracles?

and the beat goes on…

First the Dynamite gig and now another: the Chicago Red Eye has just added to my online presence and asked me to write a blog to go along with the Geek To Me features. My first few entries deal with the Red Eye’s Superhero Tournament which will run throughout the month. some of the interesting match-ups:

Batman vs The Spirit

Spider-Man vs Phoenix

and

Thor vs Buffy the Vampire Slayer

My features editor, Curt Wagner, and I lobbied to have Buffy included in the tourney, but then they stick her in the same region as Batman and against the God of Thunder.

Girl’s gonna need a miracle to make it out.

That is, unless all those rabid Buffy fans that are out there unite and vote for their favorite slayer.

getting the cat back in the bag

Now that the folks at Dynamite Entertainment have made the announcement, I can now say that I will finally break through the comic-writer wanna-be barrier into full-fledged, card carrying comic writing pro.

I’ll be co-writing the sequel to Army of Darkness/Xena: Warrior Princess with Brandon Jerwa. (Actually, the script to issue #1 is already done and we’re well into issues #2 & #3.

I’m already expecting some die-hard Xena fan to chew me out for not getting her dialog right. Oh well, we’ll see.
