Can You Tell I Dig Agents of Atlas?

Hopefully Wolvie Dies This Time

Another day, another Agents of Atlas post.

Marvel has released it’s advance solicitations for it’s X-Family books and there is one that is of particular interest to me. I’m sure in what may be an attempt to bring more fans into the Agents of Atlas stable, the team will be starring in a crossover with the X-Men. The story will not be told in the AOA series proper but instead in a two issue mini-series written and drawn by series regulars Jeff Parker and Carlo Pagulayan. I’m not quite sure if this mini will take the place of the AOA monthly during it’s run though.

Here’s the actual solicitation:

X-MEN VS. AGENTS OF ATLAS #1 (of 2)
Written by JEFF PARKER
Penciled by CARLO PAGULAYAN
Cover by ED MCGUINNESS
Variant by TBA
Zombie Variant by GERALD PAREL
It’s a monster-sized throwdown as the Agents of Atlas go toe-to-toe with the Uncanny X-Men! Venus has been kidnapped and the Agents will scour the Earth to find her! The Uranian needs a bigger boost to enable his mind to scan the globe, and intel suggests the one machine that can help is CEREBRA- which brings the Agents of Atlas head to head with no less than THE X-MEN!
40 PGS./Rated T+ …$3.99

If you are one of the great fans of Agents of Atlas please help spread the word about this comic. This would be a great chance to introduce your friends to the best superhero team book in the industry. I could go on and on about how great AOA is but I think I’ll stop…for now.

As a side note: Do we really need any more damn Zombie variants? Jeeezus.

J.

This will differently be added to my pull list and I going to get this out of the way now I will not be surprised if Parker writes the X-men better than Fraction has been writing them so far.

I wonder when (or if) Parker will write some tearjerking scenes where Ken Hale laments not being human anymore, ala Ben Grimm and Hank McCoy. It would be bad if he recycled the old plot about Hale being given human form and then having to choose going back to a gorilla.

hope this is as good as the two issue ‘ghost boxes’ mini from warren ellis and simone bianchi

Pity an X-Men crossover didn’t keep the Eternals from being cancelled by Marvel, that was a well written, well drawn book.

Although the brevity of its publication smacks of publishing to maintain the copyright.
