A Cautionary Tale: Don’t Get Ripped Off This Week

Rip Off

When you go to buy comics this week make sure you look through the books before you buy them. Two books this week may not be worth the $3.99 price tag for some people.

Dark Reign: The Goblin Legacy is a 50 plus page comic with only SIX pages of original art. It reprints Amazing Spider-Man #39 and 40 (which are recolored, whoopee) and has a bunch of filler material.

Half the issue of Blackest Night: Tales of the Lanterns #3 is a reprint (penciled art, not color, with “director’s cut” captions) of Blackest Night #0 which most of us got for FREE on Free Comic Book Day. I think that’s pretty shitty for DC to do in the last issue of a mini-series.

Just letting you guys know.

Back from SDCC

Alright, so blogging from SDCC proved to be harder than I expected. I had a ton of technical problems and my ’smart phone’ got stupid in some areas of the convention center. Regardless, I have LOTS of video that I recorded, some cool interviews, and other fun stuff that I’m in the process of formatting and editing for the Geek To Me Channel. I’ll be posting the videos to this blog as soon as I have them ready!

Thanks for bearing with me and I hope you guys didn’t have too much fun in my absence!

;-)

Who’s Getting What This Week?

Gettin Wet and Wild

Jeez, you guys couldn’t wait till I got this up to tell us what you were buying? I’ll have to be quicker in the future getting this post up after the list of new books shipping.

If you love shitty comics (Dark Reign minis, Ultimatum) then chances are good you’ll probably piss yourself when you get to your local comic shop. For the rest of us the pickings are slim but to make up for that DC is releasing Detective Comics #855 which should be on your must-buy list as it is on mine.

Here’s what I’m purchasing this week:

Detective Comics #855
Secret Warriors #6
Superman #690
Thunderbolts #134
Wonder Woman #34

I may have to review Ultimatum #5 for the hell of it this week because I had quite a bit of fun reviewing Loeb’s other piece of shit book, Hulk, last week.

So, what are you ladies and germs buying?
