Good choices man, you can’t go wrong with Radiohead. House of Cards is probably my favorite track off In Rainbows. If I were to pick two tracks off that album I might have gone with “Reckoner” and “Nude”. Most of it is pretty mellow though.
Reckoner is my favorite Radiohead song, but I thought it a little fast for mellow. And Nude would have been better than These Are My Twisted Words. So, I’ll post both right below:
Hey J, did I recommend Mason Jennings to you, or were you already listening to his stuff?? Anyways, some fine selections as usual. I must say, thanks to you Aimee Mann is really starting to grow on me. Well, here is my mellow selection from one of the all-time greats…
That was really cool, I hadn’t seen that before. I’m always impressed by guys who can create those awesome live compositions using loop pedals. Owen Pallett does the same sort of thing using a violin… not sure if this counts as mellow, but it’s pretty cool and kinda funny:
I have never ever seen anyone play the guitar like that. That was fucking brilliant. It kinda blew my mind a little.
If you are looking for an Aimee Mann album to help you really get into her stuff I would recommend listening to Lost in Space. It’s one of the best albums I have ever heard start to finish.
I might have to pick that up, I need some new stuff to listen to. Not sure if you’ve heard of Damien Rice, but you might like this (I promise this will be the last post I leave). I was just listening to it, found it kind of moving, had to share it:
Wow, some really nice music this week by everyone! Who would have thought a site that is mostly about comics would become one of my favorite places to talk about music as well.
A couple of vids this week from Yoko Kanno and Mai Yamane. you might not recognize the name, but I am sure you have heard their work before.
I love the way this one does a slow burn building up to the end.
I love Yoko Kanno’s music. I have followed her work since Macross Plus and have many of her soundtracks including The Seatbelts album that came with the Cowboy Bebop Movie Soundtrack. She is really quite amazing.
i dig aimee manns stuff a lot

I have had a Company of Thieves video in an older Rock Band post but it wasn’t Oscar Wilde. I do like that song though. You should pick up their album if you get a chance. It’s excellent.

I give up if it doesn’t work this tine and if so, sorry for wasting this space.
Looks like there is something wrong with the actual video and that’s why it’s not linking here. Thanks anyway Phil.

Aimee Mann and DCC are deadly, hadn’t heard of Mason Jennings before, nice one.
Heres some from me, the Terranova video from Iliketrains is especially good imo
You sold me Jose, I’m now a fan of Aimee Mann.
Now, without further adieu, Radiohead:
