Who’s Getting What This Week?

Posted: October 18, 2010 in DC Comics, Image, Marvel

Looks like some decent comics are coming out this week and it’s about fucking time. Though Shadowland has been absolutely shitastic Daredevil has not been and I find that very odd since the same writer is doing both. The big book for me this week is Morning Glories #3 and if you didn’t already know that you really haven’t been paying attention. Anyway, here’s what I am buying on Wednesday:

Batman Beyond #5
Daredevil #511
Guarding the Globe #2
Morning Glories #3
Power Girl #17
X-Factor #210

This week sees the end of me buying 53 issues in a row of Green Lantern Corps. I love that book to death but DC has decided to put an ex-Top Cow house style hack on art chores and that is just too much for me to handle since I hate that fucking art style. Goodbye Green Lantern Corps, you were a good friend all these years. Maybe I’ll pick you up again when there is a fill in artist. I will miss you.

So, what are you all buying this week?

Well, there are some good books coming out this Wednesday. Not nearly as bad as last week so I guess we can be thankful for that. Here’s what I’ll be buying:

American Vampire #7
Buffy The Vampire Slayer #37
Klaws of the Panther #1 (Jonathan Maberry)
Metalocalypse: Dethklok #1
REBELS #21
SHIELD #4 (Jonathan Hickman)

As I look through the titles being released by Marvel and DC it really is quite hard to get too excited over them these days. I can see myself not buying any of their books (Vertigo doesn’t count as “DC proper” since Johns and Didio are trying everything within their power to fucking bury the imprint) in a year’s time. I am starting to lean towards independent books now more than ever before and I don’t see that trend changing for me.

What are you getting this week?

Who’s Getting What This Week?

Posted: September 27, 2010 in DC Comics, Image, Marvel

I was always under the impression that the last week of the month was usually the biggest shipping wise. Doesn’t seem to be the case in September. What a pitiful new comic day. No wonder August industry sales numbers were so abysmal. If the companies don’t print and ship decent comics how are we supposed to buy them?

Before I go any further I would like a short moment of silence for what will probably be the last issue of Agents of Atlas ever.

Fuck you Marvel.

So, here’s what I will be buying this week:

Atlas #5 (Jeff Parker, Last Issue)
Chew #14
Secret Warriors #20 (Jonathan Hickman)
Wonder Woman #603

Maybe I’ll pick up a trade or two to make up for the not buying of too many monthly comics on Wednesday.

What are you getting this week?

And here is the Darwyn Cooke video:

Now this is what I call a quality week. It will be an expensive one but it will also be so worth it. Here’s what I’ll be buying on Wednesday:

Batman Beyond #4
Empowered Vol 6
Hack Slash: My First Maniac #4
Joe The Barbarian #7
Marvel Universe vs The Punisher #4 (Jonathan Maberry, Goran Parlov)
Morning Glories #2
Mystery Society #3
Spider-Man Fantastic Four #3 (Christos Gage, Mario Alberti)
The Unwritten #17
Thunderbolts #148 (Jeff Parker)
X-Factor #209 (Peter David)

So much goodness. It will be a fight for what ends up on the very top of my reading pile.

What will you be getting this week?

Special thanks goes out to Insideman for supplying the shipping list for the blog this week.
