bats manga

A few weeks ago I was asked by Variant Girl if I would like to write a monthly column about manga for her new e-zine. I said sure and now here it is:

Hit it to read it

  1. Aaron E says:

Hey that was a nice column dude! How do you start a blog? i’m thinking of starting my own comic book reviewing blog/comic culture discussion blog. Kinda what you guys are doing here. If you could tell me how to start up one that would be awesome! Thanks!

  2. Saar says:

    Batman manga?! WTF
I know there are X-men and wolverine.

  3. Rob F says:

I am insanely pleased that you mentioned Ninja High School and Gold Digger. I used to be really into those two books and I agree that they were a nice American addition that was manga inspired.

  4. Hammy McHamslice says:

I just read this column. Interesting subject! One thing I would be curious to read about is why manga became a “lost love” of yours in-between the initial fascination you had for it and your current rediscovery. Was there a trend in manga that made you drop out at some point?

  5. Variant Girl says:

    Hey J,

Can’t wait for your article this month. You are a writer, I’m so grateful you write for the zine, that’s very cool, I appreciate it.
