Invincible Iron Man #16

Jose has already reviewed the book, but I just wanted to chime in with my quote for the trade collection:

”If you don’t read this book and absolutely love it, you have NO SOUL.”

Goddam, that was a great issue.

That is all.

Very true this issue was great. Not only do you not have any soul if u dont like this comic you also have no taste in comic books at all.

    Can’t agree more!
Say there is something that I didn’t understand about the future of the series. In an interview with fraction about the series Matt said the follewing things:

“IGN Comics: Is there anything else you want to add, either about “Stark Disassembled or “World’s Most Wanted”?

Fraction: I’ve been resisting writing #19 for a while. [laughs] It’s a big ending and a big payoff, and it’s got to be done right. And then starting with “Disassembled” and #20, we’ve got a new trade dress put together by Ryan Hughes that is absolutely amazing. Iron Man is finally going to look like a book about a futurist instead of a book about a guy who thinks in science fiction all the time. Be ready for that. I couldn’t be more excited for how the book physically is going to look. It’s going to jump off the page.

IGN Comics: Does that go for the interior art as well as the cover?

Fraction: Oh, of course. No doubt. Salvador is a master. But now we’re finally going to have a book that looks like what it is.”

Who is Ryan Hughes, what does he mean by “Trade dress”, does he some how going to improve Slvador penciings or he is the new artist?

P.S- when does the last episode of this week episode is going to be upload?

    • Elliott says:

By ‘trade dress’ he means the cover/logo design. Ryan Hughes is a graphic designer at Marvel. They are changing the look/design of the book like they did for Fantastic Four.

      Answer your question?

And the last part of Last Rants just went up.

Oh, and no, I do not want to start my own restaurant. 😉

I went to the marvel 70th anniversary thing and joe Quesada was talking about how they’ve this 4 or 5 year plan that started with civil war and killing cap. He said people kept telling him they couldn’t do it because it would make tony stark the bad guy and everyone would hate him. He said a funny thing happened once they did he starting getting calls from lots of writers wanting to write iron man or use iron man in their books. He said it got crazy there for while IM was practically wolverine with him showing up everywhere.
So you got to give TPTB credit iron man is as good as I have ever seen him.
I got there late so was outside the room in the new huge barnes and nobles on 86th in manhattan but we could watch on some big tvs so didn’t get to ask questions. I did get to talk to him for like a minute when he signed a cap book for me we talked about baseball with fred van lente, disliking the Yankees, our poor mets, and how he should go see the Brooklyn cyclones . I feel like I let J down

Sadly i haven’t been picking up this series what with all my other books taking up priority because for some reason the price of books these days are fucking retarded and it makes me have to put half my pull list back on the shelf anyway. From what I’ve seen though just flipping through them and reading previews i must say this book does look fantastic, i just don’t know if now is a good time to jump on especially for some one hasn’t ever really been a big iron man fan, but i do wanna give it a chance. Any suggestions on what issue is a good jump on point?

    • comicbookdude89 says:

Issue#8 is a good jumping on point, but seriously though BUY. THIS. BOOK! Trust me you won’t regret it!
