So…MTV Splash Page got the scoop from Iron Man 1 & 2 director Jon Favreau that he wouldn’t direct the eventual ‘ultimate superhero team-up’ from Marvel Films:

So the question remains: who’s gonna direct the flick? My vote? Peter Berg who has shown himself to be very adept at drama (The Kingdom) and great at doing action (The Rundown).

Who do YOU think should direct The Avengers?

  1. generaldark says:

i personally dont want to see an avengers movie mainly becuase i feel that hollywood cant make any original movies so there going to books, then going to comic books. i feel the comic industry is a sellout, especially marvel. charecters from books should stay in books. besides hero team up movies are never a good idea.

  2. Produced by Jeph Loeb, Script by Brian Bendis and Directed by Frank Miller. What could possibly go wrong? That’s the winning trifecta right there my friend.

  3. Deemar says:

Man that sucks, I was looking forward to the possibility

    Favs just gets it

  4. mbell028 says:

Someone who I would love to see direct it would be Danny Boyle(Slumbdog Millionaire, 28 days and 28 weeks later). I have a hard time believing he would do it, but I think he would do an excellent job.

  5. phil says:

If he would hook up with MarvelDisney, BruceTimm….for a cgi Avengers.
If traditionak, G. Dek Toro pr BettyThomas

  6. Ironmuskrat says:

I really liked the first Iron Man, but I will wait and see how the second movie turns out before I’m totally sold on Favreau.

As for a director for the Avengers.. I will turn it up to 11 and pick Guillermo del Toro for his over active imagination.

  7. TheComicRant says:

Guillermo del Toro would do a badass job.

  8. Micheal Bay !!!!!!!!!!!

LOL Just kidding. But seriously who ever is doing the captain America movie should direct the avengers movie, assuming the captain America movie doesn’t sucks that is.

  9. Locusmortis says:

    Eddie Batt.

  10. Pobra says:

I think Del Toro is a good choice. I’m not completely sold on Raimi’s directorial abilities anymore. Although I just watched Drag Me To Hell and found it pretty enjoyable. It was a hell of a lot better than The Grudge, but obviously nowhere near the Evil Dead trilogy. As for his super hero stuff… come on guys, we all saw Spidey 3.

    • Ironmuskrat says:

When the credits rolled at the end of Spidey 3 my mouth was hanging open is disbelieve. A song and dance number? really?

I have to chock it up to a protest by Raimi, for being forced to include Venom in his movie.
