awww i love in Bruge, Colin Farrell is funny in this lmao. “Ah a bottle!”
Hey Jose, if you’ve checked them out, what did you think of GhostDog of Midnight Exspress?
Haven’t seen either one in a long time but I did like them quite a bit.
I think I’m in love with Ellen Page.
That MGMT video is so good, not sure what it has to do with indie flick Friday, but I enjoyed it none the less.
The song is in Whip It.
Ah, I see.
I was in Blockbuster today looking for In Bruges, Hard Candy and the first season of Eastbound and Down and they didn’t carry any of them! I ended up settling on Whiteout and 500 Days of Summer.
I dropped Blockbuster for that reason, it was easy to get the mainstream movies, almost impossible to get the more obscure stuff, especially oversea films.
I switched to NetFlix and have been much happier with their selection of Indy and foreign films.
Sounds like it’s time to sign up for Netflix. Let me know of what you think of 500 Days of Summer. I actually have Whiteout right now too. I will watch it today or tomorrow but I have heard some pretty terrible things about it.
I’m probably going to watch 500 days tonight, so I’ll let you know what I think. I heard Whiteout sucked too, but I want to judge for myself, and yes, I know I definitely need to sign up for Netflix, soon. I’m a Blockbuster junkie, but this might be the last straw.
Speaking of movies that don’t suck, I just got through with Inglorious Basterds and District 9. Two of the best flicks I’ve seen in a while.
Kate Beckingsale (homina, homina, homina) and frigid tempatures!
It’s already starting off on a bad note! 🙂
If you love disappointment, be sure to check out Rob Zombie’s Halloween II. Its just about the worst thing since “How to Loose a Guy in 10 Days”. Actually its way worse.
I’ll agree with that sentiment. That movie was a mess.
Rob needs to stop with the remakes. I read that he wants to remake The Blob, only without the Blob itself, apparently Rob Zombie thinks the blob creature wouldn’t be scary to today’s audiences. So why do a remake then?
i shall rent these tonight 🙂
In Bruges was great!
I liked Whip It, but I thought I was going to like it more when I first saw the trailer.
I haven’t seen The Shape Of Things, but after LaBute’s last 2 movies, I’m not real eager to search it out(actually, the only movie of his that I’ve liked was Your Friends & Neighbors).
Hey Jose, finished watching both movies. 500 Days was really good, liked all the cool little music references throughout, good date movie. Though some scenes felt uncomfortably familiar.
As for Whiteout… the less said the better. It was all down hill after the shower scene.
“Though some scenes felt uncomfortably familiar.”
Tell me about it man. It really is a film I can relate to. Glad you liked it.
Also, let us never speak of “Whiteout” again.
I have always been a fan of the derby and I am friends with a few of the ladies that do this awesome sport here in Toronto Ontario. Shout out to the Derby Debutants!!! I was invited to join the team, but I’ve got bad knees..:( I still support my girls and go out to the matches. I LOVED WHIP IT, can’t wait to buy it tommorow. Ellen Page is a dream I love all her movies. Such a great actor. Jose, you are the man. Such sick taste in music and movies, oh and yeah, comic books 🙂
DERBY GIRLZ ARE ROCK!!!
You’re friends with Derby girls? I need to come up and hang out with you gals sometime.
