Here are Your Top 25 Comics for January 2010

Posted: February 15, 2010 in Top 25 Comics, Top 300 Comics

With no Blackest Night issue shipping in January is anybody really surprised to see Siege in the top spot? For me there are actually two little mini-surprises on this list…kinda.

#1. Amazing Spider-Man #617 at #6. I was thinking to myself “Where the fuck did that come from!?” until I remembered something about that book. For that particular issue Marvel let retailers order a variant cover with no real quantity restrictions. So you add that number to the normal cover that was ordered AND then you add in the other TWO variant covers (so 4 covers total) that were offered for that one issue and that’s how Amazing Spider-Man #617 lands at #6. In other words, that comic being where it is on this list is somewhat misleading. It sure didn’t get there because of the content. 🙂

#2. Buffy #31. I guess Dark Horse leaking the identity of Twilight really did have an effect on the orders. Nice to see the Buffster in the Top 25 again.

hulk?! hulk?! Hulk still in the top 20?!!!
why the hell anyone is reading this book?!

  3. Pobra says:

I actually really liked that issue of ASM -_-

  4. Ironmuskrat says:

Interesting, Siege #1 comes in at number one.. but only by 2000 over Green Lantern #50 I am sure Marvel was looking for a grade slam and only got a home run.

Fantastic Four #575 at 35.. ugh it should be at least a top 25 book now.

REBELS #12 at 141. People don’t know what they are missing. But this book does sell out at my LCS.

Brave and the Bold #31 at 95. Another book that sells out every week at my LCS. Not sure why it is so far down the list. Great writer, great artist. What else do people want?

  5. generaldark says:

marvel is going to rub this in our faces.

  6. Morlock50 says:

Glad to see Green Lantern, Batman & Robin, and Blackest Night: Flash in the top ten. Detective Comics seems to have dropped in sales since the artist change–not unexpected but disappointing regardless. Oh, and Justice League of America is still terrible. Issue #41 was so fucking boring and Bagley’s art continues to suck. I think I’m going to stay away from James Robinson penned books from now on.
