umm, life awauatic is ok i guess.

Anyway I just found out that the New ALice In WOnderland is going to be the sequel Behine The Looking Glass.

Which is great for me cause the Disney one is hard for me to beat. But now they can be a compilation, with the young alice having a classis dizney feel while the older Alice has a twisted Burton feel.

    Nicee 🙂

Could the fact that it’s called ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and not something like ‘Return to Underland’ piss a few people off though? Haven’t seen it yet, but it seems to have been grossly mis-advertised…Much like Sweeney Todd, which wasn’t advertised as a musical at all!

  2. david says:

yeah.. Behind the Looking Glass is a cool title too.

    but eh… easily overlooked.

Kinda reminds me of Aliens vs Monsters which would have been a more purchas-able movie if it was called “Suzie (or whateva her name was) and the Monsters”

  3. DidioForever says:

I love me some Wes Anderson, from Bottle Rocket to Fantastic Mr Fox! The Darjeeling Limited was pretty underrated too, IMO.

What about that whole family of Jonze/Gondry/Kauffman movies? Worth a mention?

  4. Pobra says:

Ah, the Life Aquatic with Steve-Z. Easily in my top 5. Never gets old and you gotta love the soundtrack. Speaking of which, how has no one posted any Seu Jorge on mellow Monday yet?

  5. Life Aquatic just broke my heart. Why? The scene where they leave the little dog on the island. I always comfort myself by thinking that one of the pirates on the island took in the little whelp and cared for him. Alas, Wes Andersen was always one to leave me feeling melancholy after one of his films.

    • Pobra says:

The scene that always gets me is near the end, when they finally find the Jaguar Shark and the Sigur Ros song comes on… oh man, I well up every time.

    • Mike F says:

Yeah It always bothered me that Bill Murray was just like “we forgot him” so simply and the rest were like… no no we ain’t going back.

      good movie.

    • nioki says:

this is actually my favorite anderson movie. awesome cast, and amazing soundtrack. yes, the sigur ros track ‘staralfur’ just gives me goosebumps everytime i see that part, even if the jaguar shark cg was intentionally stop-motion-ish.

oh, and trivia for you guys, the pirates are not somalian, they’re filipinos!
