Holy shit! That looked seriously awesome. But can it live up to the glory that is Annihilation?
“It’s my animality. Ain’t it cool?” -Nightwolf

  2. lg1000 says:

Please let that be real. I will go see it

  3. Dre says:

Wow…………..O_O Thank you for posting, Jose!!!!! Now, if you will, give me a moment while I imbibe the unbelievable awesomeness of what I just saw…………….this may take a while………………………………

  4. Stamps says:

This video makes me ridiculously happy.

  5. generaldark says:

ugh we dont need another MK film >_<

  6. Dre says:

Bad news for the of us expecting something more this magnificent little short film, for according to joblo.com, that’s all it is – a short film of unknown origin. They may be wrong and this could very well be an extended trailer to create buzz for a live action reboot for MK, but this is definiely disappointing to see this may be nothing more than what we’ve already seen here. Take a look: http://www.joblo.com/cool-videos-the-mortal-kombat-short-film-that-must-be-turned-into-a-movie

If anyone has or hears of news to the contrary, please let me know. We’s all be glad to know, I’m sure. 😦

  7. Mookie says:

Michael Jai White and Jeri Ryan? Looks awesome.

This looks like a game movie that they might actually take seriously while making it.

  8. IronMuskrat says:

This looks very promising, and it that Jeri Ryan? Still looking good after all these years.

But what is with all of the Johnny Cage hate? The guy goes from being one of the stars of the first movie to being unceremoniously killed off early in the second movie, now being killed off in the trailer this time. Poor Johnny!

    • Deemar says:

      Jeri is fiioone!

To think she was a swinger!

      • Edward2962 says:

Actually, the way I think it went is Jeri WASN’T a swinger and that’s why she divorced her husband Jack. When it came out in the press, the republicans dumped him and ran Alan Keyes against Obama for senator of IL.The rest is history. So if you hate the president, condemn Jack for being a freaky-deeky.If you like the pres, commend Jeri for her morals.

        • IronMuskrat says:

Dude your killing my wood here, Jeri is a freak and much like Mariah Carey, is just crazy enough to end up in the sack with me, at least that’s how I am writing it =)

        • manaconda! says:

so… jeri ryan was married to a man named jack… could it be… JACK RYAN

    • Stamps says:

I know I hate they killed Cage off right away in the trailer, it looks great overall though.

  9. Pobra says:

    holy. shit.

  10. Deemar says:

Ok that is cool, it’s not too goofy and plays it straight.

I’m down for another Mortal Kombat movie

  11. Elliott said he believes that this clip is a cut scence for the new Mortal Kombat game coming out. I didn’t even think of that and it does make sense. If that is in fact the case then there will be an announcement about it at E3 next week.

  12. Rob F says:

Regardless of what it is, it’s got people talking about MK again which means it did the job.

  13. camnick says:

FINISH HIM…i guess he couldnt say bestiality

  14. agent42q says:

OMG it’s like someone rejected everything Mortal Kombat was about and instead injected character, plot, and a sense of story, and a high stakes tournament not a cheery one, then ran with it. I couldn’t be happier, and honestly I don’t care about Mortal Kombat, but I wanna see that movie.

In the meanwhile, I’ll play street fighter.

  15. MyComicLife says:

Hollyshit man…….Jose thank you man…..wow…freaking awesome…….i cant wait…….plus this one has a character and plot…..and kick ass……wooooooooooooooo….ahemmm excuse my inner geekiness

  16. Deemar says:

Completely unrelated, just discovered this. It’s Austin Grossman the arthur of “Soon I will be Invincible”

Guy is a talented writer, but fuckall he’s a spaz

  17. Adam727 says:

    Poor Johnny, indeed.

  18. Mike F says:

Yeah I actually saw this video on rap legend RZA’s twitter, he was excited for it and after seeing it I also became incredibly excited for it 🙂

This may be the best adaption of the legendary arcade game that I loved growing up.

Its funny, this year we saw that Street Fighter clip online, we saw this one, it seems video game movies are finally getting the right adaptions they deserve 🙂

  19. TheMSpot says:

On a totally unrelated note can someone tell me why the Karate Kid is learning Kung Fu in the new Karate Kid movie. Why didn’t they just call it the Kung Fu Kid?

For those of you who don’t know Karate and Kung Fu are two completely different styles from two different countries.

  20. Mike F says:

Anyone up for some epic MK theme music to rock out to? 🙂

  21. Mike F says:

I’ve always loved the mythology of MK. I really hope at one point they, or, ONE of the characters wears one of the original costumes. IDK why, I just always thought the costumes were cool 😛

    • Luiz de Mello says:

One of the things I find cool on the MK costumes, at least up to MK 3/UMK3 is that they seemed more of real thing when contrasted to each character’s background. The most exotic, even the alien races, have more of a foreign feel to it than a ‘it is just for looks’. Of course there was a ‘it is for the looks’ aspect, but it was there too instead of being the sole factor.

  22. manaconda! says:

its got sub-zero, but will this movie have KANO?

it better if it wants my bandwidth… i mean dollars..

  23. pilkk90 says:

    this looks great

  24. SMARTASS8 says:

Jeez, I feel like a “negative nancy”, but that looked like shit to me. The score wasn’t awful, but it was overacted(there’s a reason White and Ryan are C-listers at best in which minute cameos are as close as they come to mainstream movies) and seemed like Mortal Kombat in name only. Unless they wanted to give us another Street Fighter:The Legend Of Chun-Li, why make a movie called Mortal Kombat with practically nothing resembling MK in it other than a few familiar names? I hope this director gets a huge career…at Troma.

I LOVE Mortal Kombat but that, my friends, was no Mortal Kombat. I’d rather watch Mortal Kombat:Annihilation on a continuous loop before I watch that amatuer film again.
