    • Elliott says:

I saw UDS open for Living Color waaaaaaay back in the day. They had a sound that was ahead of its time. Good stuff!

      Elliott

    • kurumais says:

i forgot about this song nice post hack

    • kurumais says:

you sent me into a 90s hip hop marathon thanks hack

remember tim dog? he was HUGE here in brookln i still like him but his stuff seems kind of silly now STEP TO ME!!! F*cK compton!

      • hackslash2020 says:

no, i didnt know Tim Dog, but I just watched the f*ck compton track, and I liked it..in all it silliness
Didnt the eastcoast/westcoast rivalry start around 94/95?
I dont know because I live in the netherlands
Anyway…what Tim Dog said about N.W.A. was something that needed to be said imo 🙂

        • hackslash2020 says:

Rivalry started in mid 90’s..and Tim Dogs song is from 90
Was what i was trying to say..and got me curious..

what I meant with Living in the Netherlands is that I am missing the “little things” that are important in order to see the full picture.
Outside information(Media) cannot give you a complete picture
(Coming to AmericaAA!!..yes one day hope so)
Ofcourse I have an opinion about american comics, movies etc, but i just still am a little hesitant to go into a discussion on a comic or movie with you guys 🙂

I remember back in the day, the album where this song came from was considered to be the Thin White Duke’s sell out album, but this was when I was getting into his music.

    • phil says:

The audience interaction in this performance still gives me goose bumps. As y’all know, Prince is my fave performer, but the greatest rock and roll band (keepin’ it royal) is these guys. Keeping the 80’s rollin’

  5. IronMuskrat says:

Whew! What a weekend! How is it I live a bizzaro world were I actually work harder on the weekends then rest of the week. =)

It nice to come to Mellow Mondays and have some relaxing music to power my brain down.

  6. Edward2962 says:

the jam from 82.check out the motown bass

also see the clash’s “hitville uk” which was actually about motown

    • kurumais says:

i cant consider town called malice a jam song anymore since billy elliot i see it as a show tune

here is a little more mellow from them

      • Edward2962 says:

I haven’t seen Billy Elliot, but I’m guessing they didn’t to the Jam what they did to the Who when Tommy went Broadway.

I’d rather listen to Andrew Lloyd Webster anyday!

        • kurumais says:

billy elliot was a good flick but now town called malice is the only jam song on the radio because of it. the jam never made it here in the states so it annoying that billy elliot is what they are known for

    • kurumais says:

here is more mod flavored rhythm and blues this time from makin time probably from around 85

  7. Edward2962 says:

I hope I don’t alienate anyone this one with all of the “twilight” and teen goth haterism out there, but Siouxsie is old school and this is her doing an old Iggy song. This was one of my faves..

  8. phil says:

To my shame, before I knew who this group was and who their front person was… I thoght when their 1st video came out, I was like”the lead singer is kinda cute, albeit a bit angularly built. Of course weeks later I realized the “chick” had an adam’s apple! Needless to say my psyche was scarred for quite some time.

Still like the songs, though However I never trust ladies that wear scarves or a lot of pearls around their necks.

    • cballsack says:

This song will always remind me of The Wedding Singer.

    • Edward2962 says:

Totally useless trivia:Boy George was originally in Bow Wow Wow,but they passed on him because they thought he’d upstage Annabelle the lead singer.

The funniest story I heard about about Boy George was when he called the cops ‘cuz he thought somebody stole something from his house after party. The cops came and saw cocaine on the premises. George tried to play it off like, “Oh,one of the guest left it” the cops weren’t buying it.

  9. kurumais says:

one of my favorite albums is dire straights
i love how smooth the guitar is in this romeo & juliet

  10. Insideman says:

My first attempt at a Mellow Monday post. Sorry it is not a dedicated video to the song but this was originally recorded by Linda Ronstadt and then the actual songwriter’s version came out– stronger and better.

    I love Karla Bonoff:

    just because

  13. Pobra says:

i’m sure many of you might find this quite terrible, but i assure you, this guy is the real deal. Shit is raw! it’s all about the lyrics.

    • I like Ben Kweller. Avi is a pretty big fan of his.

      J.

      • Pobra says:

Nice, do you have the “On My Way” album?
It’s actually one of my favorite cd’s, but most people i play it for hate it. I should have known i was in good company here 🙂

        • kurumais says:

As part of his 2006 tour, Kweller played the Austin City Limits Music Festival, where he was plagued by a severe nosebleed for the entirety of his set. After covering his guitar in blood, he attempted to stop the flow by inserting a travel-size tampon thrown onto the stage by a fan, which expanded painfully during a performance of “This Is War”. After attempting to play “Falling” at a piano which he also covered in blood, Kweller was forced to end the set early.[11][12][13]

          • Pobra says:

HA! That is kind of awesome. Man, I really didn’t think there would be so many Kweller fans here… what the hell is wrong with the rest of the world?

    • kurumais says:

      national lampoon has a network?

  14. phil says:
