Nice. One thing I liked about Dennis Kucinich in the last presidential election was that he was the only candidate who had a detailed, 8-point plan for maintaining our water supply and keeping it out of private hands. No other candidate even mentioned water in passing.
You ever watch The Corporation? There’s also a book. It’s worth looking at. Parker and Stone made fun of this in Team America, but corporations really are ruining our lives. Yeah, I only mentioned Popular Mechanics again there because I disagreed with your overall assessment of their work on the subject. Didn’t mean to suggest you hadn’t read it.

I actually have seen Chomsky’s comments, and as much as I admire the guy, I disagreed with his assessment. I’m not saying I know what happened on that day, but I do know that the official version of events has a number of inconsistencies that don’t add up. Chomsky also went on to say in the video that, even if the so-called conspiracy theories were true, “who cares?” (His exact words.) He felt it wouldn’t change anything. Again, I disagree. If you wanna talk about this more, I’m totally game. You can hit me up on facebook if you’re on there. My mind is thoroughly open to different points of view. It wasn’t til maybe a year or two ago that my opinion changed on 9/11.
Yeah, the “who cares?” comment was not very bright. People should care. I could easily say to Chomsky, ‘who cares?’ when he tries to describe US intervention in the Philippines at the turn of the last century. ‘Who cares?’ is never a compelling argument. I was just referring to his general characterization of the scientific analysis, which was spot on.
I’m not on facebook so I guess we’ll have to save it for another time until Jose opens up that conspiracy thread. If he doesn’t, I will simply assume it’s a conspiracy against conspiracies.
I agree, Icke is not to be taken seriously. He makes some crazy statements without backing it up.Though I find the reptilian race fascinating ever since i watched “V” as a little kid. It is in fact a little of a tradegy that Icke turned that story in such a turd.
Mckinnon in this video, he is doing what more people should do: instead of making theories he was searching for evidence in nasa-computers and the pentagon…what a hero..(and got to be a little stupid too)
can’t talk on blog anymore doctor who tonight to immense for a doctor who geek like me but hurry up and open a thread jose before i burst from sheer overwhelming geeky power ugg happening to quickly arggg no must not reveal spoilers ahhhhhhhhh doctor who theard nooooooooooooooo spoilerssssssssss
I bought two comics: Spiderman- Grim Hunt and Brightest Day 4. One was a kick ass comic about people comming back from the dead and the other was Brightest Day.
jose told me before about atlas being awesome so i decided to buy one and two recently.
wow what a great book so far. the art is really nice and i like the back up story of the 1950’s tales.
reallyu great stuff. i usually dont find myself liking the kinda retro revamped marvel/dc stuff.i was really surprised with this one. still dont like 3-dman(his costume is awful. maybe just the goggles and a suite would look cooler.)
good stuff. nothing else this week seemed good at all.
I think this would work just as long as they only put out comics that are not brand new. The reason being, I would hate to see the LCS loose a lot of money. If they only had old comics it may even younger people into the LCS to pick up the latest issue of whatever they like.
An idea I had a while back was for the LCS to be able to sell digital versions along with the print versions. I envisioned a system where a LCS would be able to setup a store on a master site, much like people setup amazon stores, to sell the digital versions.
That’s a great idea, I have been to some concerts that they will give you the soundboard recording of the show you went to for free download, and I thought that was so cool. also now a lot of dvds or blurays will come with the digital version.
“By contrast, newcomer Warner Bros’ Jonah Hex already is such a flop that it’s not even meeting the studio’s low opening weekend expectation of $10M from 2,825 venues after it wasn’t tracking. My sources say it opened to only $1.9M Friday and will be hard-pressed to get to even $6M this weekend. It also should drop to 6th place Sunday. As one Warner Bros exec said about the lesson learned; “You don’t take a handsome actor and disgfigure him.” The studio is so embarrassed that it took great pains to points out that the pic was greenlighted before Diane Nelson took over as DC Entertainment prez. About the cowboy with the disfigured face and legend that he can’t be killed, a minor character in the DC Comics galaxy of stars, Jonah Hex was attempted on the cheap. The studio claims the final budget was $35M. UPDATE: But I hear Warner Bros cut the original budget of $80M to $40M right before production with no script changes. Then the studio did 70 pages of reshoots about 6 months ago. That may have added another $25M for a new budget of $65M. Ouch! As one insider tells me, “the studio looked at the movie a long time ago and wrote it off”.”
hex should have been a gritty realistic western with prostitutes with guns and shooting people in the balls for snoring and kicking ass and riding horses but instead we got wild wild west meets transformers 2 for shame hollywood for shame.
Absolutely. The success of Unforgiven and Deadwood should have clued them in put what was I thinking? I get annoyed when some fucktard director thinks his piece of shit vision is more important than what’s already there.
agreed. If they made it a really gritty movie like you said or something like an HBO show it would have made the Jonah Hex adaptation something actually cool.
I still can’t get over the fact that it is 81 minutes long. Toy Story 3 which opened against it has a 103 minute run time and it’s made for impatient little children to watch for cripes sake! Jeez
Did they digitally fix Megan Fox’s fugly thumbs in it? I think Jose told me that was the rumor back before it came out but I haven’t heard it being mentioned about it now that it’s in theaters.
Here’s a slightly adjusted comment I wrote several weeks ago disagreeing with Brian Hibbs about Digital Comics and how they will affect your LCS… Hopefully you guys might be interested to read it here– as it touches a little on the comment I made the other day about the rising price of comics:
“I have to disagree with the whole idea that the major 2 comic publishers will hopefully use digital as a means to “help” comic stores gain more customers.
Maybe they will initially– IF it makes the right economic sense for them. But if they can make more money on digital comics by foregoing all PHYSICAL distribution– meaning every single B&M comic store would go “poof”– they would do so tomorrow in a “heartbeat”.
As you’re savvy enough to know: You’re dealing with DISNEY now. And Disney ran their own stores into the ground– and then closed 3/4 of them… Without batting an eye. (That’s how little ALL those stores meant to Disney’s bottom line.)
Disney entering the game (and the Super-Hero MOVIE boom) has finally awakened Time-Warner– and they are treating DC like a more significant Corporate Cog now.
Paul Levitz was a linchpin in keeping the old comics distribution paradigm alive. Since he’s not there anymore– and since the Super-Hero MOVIE can no longer be ignored– everything is going to change.
Luckily for me (and all other retailers and collectors), all of this is a ways away from now… As I simply refuse to read comics on a computer. (I can barely stand to read comic previews on one… So digital comics are definitely out for me.) I like the tactile sensation of holding a book. I like being able to bury my nose in a book.
But I’m an “old man” by today’s standards. Sooner than I’d like, young kids will grow up not even knowing what paper periodicals are.
Many comics have long been printed as loss leaders for merchandising sales. I once had a DC bigwig tell me that the Wonder Woman comic hadn’t made any real profit (or had lost money) since the ’60’s… But DC couldn’t afford to stop publishing it because of the huge windfall they receive from merchandising the only RECOGNIZABLE Female Comic Character in the WORLD. DC felt (and rightly so), that if they didn’t show they were making the effort to publish at least one MONTHLY WW comic– that they would seem to be abandoning the character and therefore hurt Wonder Woman’s merchandising.
As stated above, B&M Comic Book stores will CEASE to EXIST (as we know them) if the Big Two decide one day to go digital only.
I don’t have to tell you any of this. You get it. But DISNEY could care less about Comic Book Retailers– and will violently jilt you and every other comic store owner the MINUTE they figure out how to make more money on comics utilizing the DIGITAL MEDIUM.
As costs for physical distribution, gas and other materials rise publishers will use these excuses to eventually price themselves out of the market. (Hell, they’re almost there now.)
I’m am not relishing this occurring in the least. But it WILL happen and it is going to be a very sad day indeed.”
Somebody commented something very interesting underneath… That he thought the companies may be raising the cost of individual floppies to to $3.99 each to make a $2 digital comic look CHEAP.
An increase in adoption of digital comics may lead to creators being able to more easily self publish. So you may hate to read a comic in electronic format but know that there are great benefits for the creators if comics go electronic.
That’s a really good point, Rush. And we’ve already seen some of that already. Any of you check out Apparition Abolishers? It’s how Ghostbusters would have been back in the old days. Gotta love the tag line: “Whom shall one telegraph?”
rush, In that sense, I support a TON of digital comics. I just buy the print collections of them.
I’m all for digital giving new creators a chance– or even established creators with new ideas (that companies won’t risk supporting) finding their platform in digital.
I just want to read them on paper.
Thankfully, several publishers have understood this, so I get to read some of the digital content in collected editions.
I’m with you on everything except the zombies. This is the golden age of zombie storytelling, and it’s not limited to the movies any longer. I’m a huge zombie fan, so these past few years have been pretty orgasmic. Yeah, there are a lot of misses, but there are a lot of hits too. I loved Marvel Zombies (especially all the alternate covers), Walking Dead (can’t wait for the tv show!!!!!), Pride & Prejudice & Zombies (supposedly they’re turning it into a movie with Natalie Portman!!!!!!), and I’m eager to pick up iZombie whenever the trade finally comes out (but I’d read just about anything that Allred does).
Yeah, I will admit there are exceptions to the rule I was just speaking in general terms. Also, in regards to zombie movies, why does George A. Romero keep making movies doesn’t he know that the genre has moved on without him.
Just watched Doctor Who episode “Cold Blood”. [Spoiler warning] I have to say I think the whole point of Amy choosing Rory seems kind of pointless after that episode. And the fact that she can’t even remember him really just tears it. It seems familiar to Spider-man erasing MJ from his memory. In fact, what was the point of the entire Rory character if all they were going to do was erase him completely? Yes, the Doctor remembers him, but what does that matter?
Anyone who saw “Cold Blood” care to comment on what they thought of it?
Don’t worry Smallmaniac. Rory’s death has meaning. Amy choosing Rory was not pointless. Nothing in this season has happened arbitrarily. If you get a chance go back to our open thread for that episode and see what people had to say.
How did the same guy who wrote Red Son become such a hack? Well it happened with Frank Miller, Brian Bendis, Jeph Loeb, Judd Winick (in my opinion at least) Paul Dini, Geoff Johns =\ Fame in the comic medium just leads to laziness bullshit stories I guess.
have you guys seen the SFW trailer for the XXX batman parody porn movie from vivid up on youtube? even though it was safe for work i wasnt sure if J&E wanted to set a porn related precedent for the blog so i didnt post it. but it looks just as goofy and well made as the adam west batman its spoofing
I love the fact that the actor playing the Joker is wearing a mustache under his white makeup, just like Cesar Romero. It’s those little touches that make me want to buy this movie.
Hollywood stars Megan Fox, Eliza Dushku, Sandra Bullock and Beyonce Knowles all have been rumored to be of interest to studio heads. But Hewitt is determined to bring the role Lynda Carter made famous to the big screen.
She says, “I’m fighting so hard. I think Warner Bros. is getting ready to make Wonder Woman and I really want to play Wonder Woman. I am obsessed with Wonder Woman.”
Hewitt doesn’t come across as someone who is willing to swing a sword into a guys face or twist their head off, she comes off kind of whiny and annoying. I nominate Christina Hendricks.
Yeah, I can never find a good link… Which has to make me like the stupidest person to ever go on the internet. Like I wrote, I’ve got BBC America. I thought it would be better than Sc-Fi (or SyFy, I guess now) but they actually have MORE commercials and NO HD channel on my cable provider. (At least not yet.) Really, really makes me grind my teeth every Saturday night.
whenever i want to find something on the darkside i put
watch online and i have found some very good sites includeding the above mentioned show
i dont mind watching that show on the darkside because i knew about 10 minutes into the first episode i would get the dvds
1/ Dave, Todd and Marty wander off down the street together, indulging in a little banter.
MARTY : Whatever, man. You guys see Spider-Man on TV last night? Is it weird I find Aunt May kinda HOT?
TODD : Isn’t she like fucking EIGHTY or something?
MARTY : I don’t mean THE SEQUELS, asshole. I mean the first one where she has the heart attack and you see her in a NIGHT-DRESS.
You might want to click on the Bleeding Cool link– as there is a secondary story showcasing the extremely beautiful DC artist Nicola Scott:
@assemble,avengers; I noticed that your name goes red when I pass over it , but nothing comes on when I click your name. Do you or have you had a blog that is now defunct?
I buy a ton of DVDs from Amazon UK… I apologize as I would guess most everybody probably knows this– but Amazon UK’s REGULAR every day price on most DVDs and Blu Ray are MUCH lower than any US price… Including most US Amazon sale prices.
Plus the UK has all these wonderful Box Sets that we rarely see here. I was able to pick up the cool Dr. Who Season 1 -4 box set for $83 USD (including shipping)– which is a great price (US price at the time for all 4 seasons was well over $200– and you could not get a nifty box set).
I also picked up the UK Life on Mars and the spin-off Ashes to Ashes for next to nothing. The UK Bablyon 5 Box Set has EVERYTHING (all the movies, mini-series) at a fraction of what it would cost to collect here in the US. I purchased the superior Sherlock Holmes collection with Jeremy Brett for about £31. I live in LA and the shipping time is anywhere from 3 days (I am NOT joking) to no more than a week… Most stuff arrives in 3 to 4 days… Most of the time wrapped better than Amazon’s US shipments.
All you need is an upconverting Region 2 Player (for HDTV) or All Region Blu Ray and you’re set. (They’re now on the cheap side too!) Of course, some UK DVDs have no region code and will play on regular US region players.
Like I said– I’m sure this stuff is “old hat” for most of you… But I am constantly amazed at the low price and high quality of UK DVD releases.
Mike, overseas shipping for the Dr. Who Box Set was $4.80 USD. That small amount plus the huge savings on the set overall– makes the UK DVDs a great deal (especially if you collect a lot).
An all region DVD player costs nothing compared to what you save. I purchased an upconverting Pioneer model for around $81 from Amazon US.
In it she mentions she’s working on a Wonder Woman mini written by Greg Rucka. I wasn’t aware of that. Probably a case of me just being behind on my comic book news. A Ruck/Scott WW mini sounds AWESOME!
Rucka has gone on record saying he is not doing anything for DC for at least a few years. That’s why he is not writing the new Batwoman series. I am wondering if this article is referring to the Blackest Night Wonder Woman series. Hopefully it is something that IS already written and she is still working on.
I read X-Factor and love it #200 is a good jumping on point. And FYI, Elliott and I talked about Shadowland in the Last Rants segment we taped today just because you asked. That vid will probably be up late this week.
After a while I am already used to it and don’t really hear it anymore. Then again I do watch a lot of futbol regularly so maybe I am just immune to it now.
J.
I love this movie
I’ve never seen any of his film adaptions, but I do admire David Mamet.
You have never seen the film adaptation!? Holy shit…
J.
Wait, that’s not true… I did see Edmond.
I have read nearly all his plays and several of his essays.
One of the few Chicagoans I admire.
J.
We use the “cofee is for closers” line all the time at work.

I take it from the pic for the CCW Weekend Open Thread it’s going to have some sort of femdom fetish theme?
Is that Alex Ross?
J.G. Jones. From the cover of one of the best Wonder Woman stories ever.
J.
This used to be the “header” pic for our blog Rush. Elliott then changed it to the carton versions of ourselves.
J.
Cool, I like the current header pic it set sets a real identity to this blog.
I was joke with my earlier comment 🙂
Femdom is always welcomed on this blog.
J.
Good documentery
Who knew Tank Girl was based on a true story?

Holy shit. Judging by ballsack’s facebook pic I think that he IS actually Barbeque!

I keep waiting for you to do this in one of your videos.
That was kinda hot.

You a Noam Chomsky fan at all ballsack?

Of course. He’s the man.
Yes, he is.

The Onion has had some brilliant satirical stuff on the oil spill.
http://www.theonion.com/articles/massive-flow-of-bullshit-continues-to-gush-from-bp,17564/
The complete failier of our government and the BP is simply stunning.
so true
There’s evidence emerging that the oil spill was an inside job.

A frightening thought to say the least.
Do you know about the Venus Project? We need to make the switch to geothermal energy. We have an infinite supply and there are no hazards or dangerous emissions to worry about. We need to get started immediately on changing the infrastructure of this country.
Oh, and, uh… I like Batman. Trying to remember this is a comic book board.
Yes I know of the Venus Project. I was made aware of it through the Zeitgeist videos.
I met Peter Joseph (the director and narrator of Zeitgeist) in person. Really cool guy. Very bright and easy to talk to.
That was the two of us in person, taken with my phone. Odd pic because it was dark but we were standing in front of a very bright floor light.
That’s cool! I’m looking forward to the third film which I think comes out this fall.
Do you listen to his podcast?
No, I probably should. I didn’t even know there was a third film coming out.
As much as I liked Zeitgeist, there are some flaws in the movie. Like it’s true that paying income tax is not a law, but you can’t challenge it because the courts have already ruled it as a precedent. And some of the parallels he drew between Jesus and other gods like Mithra are a little shaky.
Ya those were glaring flaws but I understood the message he was trying to get across. The second film was better.
thank god this didn’t happen when bush was in power he would have tried to invade lousiana claiming they had WMD’s (weapons of mass destruction)and then rolled around in the oil laughing as cartoon dollar signs flashed in his eyes.
Oh my god yes! I am glad that douche isn’t the president anymore. He is an embarrassment to this country.
Is there any difference between Obama and Bush? We’re still fighting two wars, he’s increased the military budget, the Patriot Act is still in effect so the govt. can spy on your email, phone calls, come into your house and search it without a warrant. We still have prisons outside the US that any of us could be sent to without habeus corpus. We still have an embargo with Cuba. Marijuana is still illegal. Corporate welfare still exists. Corporations continued to receive massive bailouts. He continues to emphasize “clean coal” as a fuel alternative. He’s threatened Hugo Chavez. He’s passed no legislation that would benefit the environment.
Yeah, he got a health bill passed, but that bill benefits insurance companies more than it does the average citizen.
I am not impressed by him either. Frankly I’m amazed that citizens here feel they need to go along with our two party system. Every four years we pick between two bowls of shit.
Actually we choose between a giant douche and a shit sandwich.

It’s getting too political, this always gets ugly. Besides Jose might get pissed and start banning folks.
You’re right. Let’s switch to religion. There is no God. Your thoughts?
Let me refer you to the Lewis Black video I posted here earlier.
That is hilarious! I will forward that to all of my heathen friends.
cake or death!!!!
I’m friends with Matt Dillahunty on Facebook.
are you serious?

If he doesn’t, I will simply assume it’s a conspiracy against conspiracies.
good night all it’s bed time.
I woke up and suddenly I thought of this.
Fuck if I know why.
No disrespect to anyone or their theories (concerning the above) meant or implied.
We could do a conspiracy theory sub-blog. I have a few of my own. 😉
could be some sort of universial warning sign
I can’t take Icke seriously, what with all his lizard talk.
I agree, Icke is not to be taken seriously. He makes some crazy statements without backing it up.Though I find the reptilian race fascinating ever since i watched “V” as a little kid. It is in fact a little of a tradegy that Icke turned that story in such a turd.
Mckinnon in this video, he is doing what more people should do: instead of making theories he was searching for evidence in nasa-computers and the pentagon…what a hero..(and got to be a little stupid too)
i was waiting till indie flick friday to post this but since we didnt have it i want to see this one in theaters

has anyone seen this yet? for the most part ive been very impressed with the fan made stuff i have to make time to watch this
pretty good production quality for a fan film. I got bored with it half way through though.
I bought two comics: Spiderman- Grim Hunt and Brightest Day 4. One was a kick ass comic about people comming back from the dead and the other was Brightest Day.
lol good one
yeah the spider-man stuff has been really good lately.
bleeding cool is saying after grim hunt dan slott is the sole writer of it now and its twice a month. i hope thats true!
yeah it has been good except for the shed arc. I thought it was pretty bad.
jose told me before about atlas being awesome so i decided to buy one and two recently.
wow what a great book so far. the art is really nice and i like the back up story of the 1950’s tales.
reallyu great stuff. i usually dont find myself liking the kinda retro revamped marvel/dc stuff.i was really surprised with this one. still dont like 3-dman(his costume is awful. maybe just the goggles and a suite would look cooler.)
good stuff. nothing else this week seemed good at all.
I read this couple of days ago. Anyone else read this and what are your thoughts?
http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/2010/06/rantz-hoseley-on-the-launch-of-longbox/
I think this would work just as long as they only put out comics that are not brand new. The reason being, I would hate to see the LCS loose a lot of money. If they only had old comics it may even younger people into the LCS to pick up the latest issue of whatever they like.
but I would never use this kind of service.
Since I’ve watched all the Guild online now what other webshows should I be watching?

Here’s what Nikki Finke at http://www.deadline.com/hollywood wrote about Hex’s weekend box office gross:
Even though Hex is a comic book character they should not have approached it as such. Hollywood never learns.
hex should have been a gritty realistic western with prostitutes with guns and shooting people in the balls for snoring and kicking ass and riding horses but instead we got wild wild west meets transformers 2 for shame hollywood for shame.
Who’s that in your new avatar?
It’s Shaun and Ed from Shaun of the Dead.
Is it really? I didn’t recognize them at all. Guess the pic’s too small. I thought it was a boy band or something.
Yeah the pic is really small unfortunately. I’m going to tinker with it or get a new one in the next couple of days. I can barely see it myself lol
I was actually kidding when I said that. Sorry. 🙂
J.
ha ha damn. 😛
man it would have been great if that was true. Those thumbs creep me out
“You don’t take a handsome actor and disgfigure him.”
That quote is fucking classic.
J.
*sigh*
The one positive that might come out of all of that is that millions of trees will be saved.
Great, great, great comment.
J.
Gotta love the tag line: “Whom shall one telegraph?”
http://apparitionabolishers.com/
Thank I will check this out. Another example is PvP.
rush, In that sense, I support a TON of digital comics. I just buy the print collections of them.
I’m all for digital giving new creators a chance– or even established creators with new ideas (that companies won’t risk supporting) finding their platform in digital.
I just want to read them on paper.
Thankfully, several publishers have understood this, so I get to read some of the digital content in collected editions.
that really sad just shows how much big companies don’t care about any of the “small people” if the day comes and this happens i will leterally cry.
And yet people give said companies money every week.
That’s true in every industry.
Jose whats your thoughts on the Grim Hunt story in Spider-Man so far?
I thought it was ok. Had some problems with it though, one really big one. We may review it on the show next week.
J.
I read it just now and I am confused.
Damn Manute Bol died.
Yeah, I saw that. Poor guy.
Yeah that’s sad.
He was a real charitable guy
I don’t like pimping my shit, but I want to know what the CCW nation thinks.
http://themspot1313.wordpress.com/2010/06/19/multiple-random-thoughts/
Romero keep making movies doesn’t he know that the genre has moved on without him.
one of these ladies became a porn star.
Only one?
I only know of one, are there more?
Hey Rush. I am watching the pilot for Pulse right now. Was there only the one episode so far?
J.
Yes, only one episode thus far.
lol
J.
Will do.

What ta miss
I just saw the solicitations from Marvel, and titty fucking christ there really is going to be a Kick-Ass 2. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The September solicitations if you were wondering.
haha its called “Balls to the walls” -_-
My word, does he even try? a joke. He’s a joke.
More like, “Rape My Eye Balls”
How did the same guy who wrote Red Son become such a hack? Well it happened with Frank Miller, Brian Bendis, Jeph Loeb, Judd Winick (in my opinion at least) Paul Dini, Geoff Johns =\ Fame in the comic medium just leads to laziness bullshit stories I guess.
Because rumor is that Grant Morrison gave him most of the ideas for Red Sun, especially the ending.
J.
At this point I’m starting to believe that. I mean really that’s it. That’s literally it. The only good work.
WELL to be fair his run on the Flash was decent. Swamp Thing had a good run too, but these were anything amazing.
But Jesus, Balls to the Walls? is he stealing ideas from high schoolers now?
weren’t *
We may have read the same interview, Jose.
Grant all but said he was responsible for how Red Sun turned out.
The Millar we see now is the Millar minus Morrison.
lol paul dini is still doing a fantastic job in my opinion .Streets of gotahm is the book I always rush to pick up
Wouldn’t be the first time Millar used rape as a storytelling device.
J.
sweet jeebus…
I really wish Mark Millar would go away
anyone up for CCW chat? or am I the only person who’s got nothing going on tonight?
no sir you aren’t the only one.
have you guys seen the SFW trailer for the XXX batman parody porn movie from vivid up on youtube? even though it was safe for work i wasnt sure if J&E wanted to set a porn related precedent for the blog so i didnt post it. but it looks just as goofy and well made as the adam west batman its spoofing
That thing is a laugh riot.
I love the fact that the actor playing the Joker is wearing a mustache under his white makeup, just like Cesar Romero. It’s those little touches that make me want to buy this movie.
I see an AVN award for sure 😀
i wonder if they will be at comic con this year
Wait a minute, we still haven’t set a porn related precedent here? How have we so thoroughly dropped the ball?
What are your thoughts on the Pulse pilot Jose?
I liked it. It kept my attention throughout. My only complaint was the use of the same foreboding music over and over and over again.
I hope it gets picked up. I need a BBC show to replace Doctor Who until it comes back.
J.
I agree about the music. I read a date of June 30 for new episodes, I hope it’s true.
Let’s make predictions on how late each issue of the new Kick-Ass will be. I’m guessing 3 months WITH pressure to make the next movie. 5 or 6 without.
That will his screw his new magazine(CLiNT) too.
I almost thought it said cunt for a second.
I am obsessed with Wonder Woman.”
http://www.popoholic.com/2010/06/10/jennifer-love-hewitt-wants-to-play-wonder-woman/
Hewitt as wonder woman would be silly.
Hewitt doesn’t come across as someone who is willing to swing a sword into a guys face or twist their head off, she comes off kind of whiny and annoying. I nominate Christina Hendricks.
I nominate Rosie Jones.
I’ve heard fan wanting Bridget Regan in the role.
Jennifer is uber desperate because she just lost her day job.
super self indulgence time; my pick for WW and others
oh yeah, pardon the sub par editing. 🙂
This is going to sound incredibly naive of me… But how are you guys watching these Who eps so far in advance?
Download? What?
I want to throw a brick through me TV every time I watch something on BBC America.
The interweb you your friend, it will grant you your hearts desire 🙂
Yeah, I can never find a good link… Which has to make me like the stupidest person to ever go on the internet. Like I wrote, I’ve got BBC America. I thought it would be better than Sc-Fi (or SyFy, I guess now) but they actually have MORE commercials and NO HD channel on my cable provider. (At least not yet.) Really, really makes me grind my teeth every Saturday night.
You’re better off watching Doctor Who episodes On Demand. They call them “director cut’s” but they are really just the edited versions.
J.
that sound like something the devil would say followed by muhahahahaha
youtube. you gotta search through a lot of fake vids and adds but its always on there.
or torrents.
Thanks, guys.
whenever i want to find something on the darkside i put
watch online and i have found some very good sites includeding the above mentioned show
i dont mind watching that show on the darkside because i knew about 10 minutes into the first episode i would get the dvds
Bleeding Cool showcases some of the EXTREMELY CLASSY dialogue you can expect in Kick Ass 2.
Mark Millar confirms it himself:
http://forums.millarworld.tv/index.php?showtopic=93795
Page Twelve
1/ Dave, Todd and Marty wander off down the street together, indulging in a little banter.
MARTY : Whatever, man. You guys see Spider-Man on TV last night? Is it weird I find Aunt May kinda HOT?
TODD : Isn’t she like fucking EIGHTY or something?
MARTY : I don’t mean THE SEQUELS, asshole. I mean the first one where she has the heart attack and you see her in a NIGHT-DRESS.
You might want to click on the Bleeding Cool link– as there is a secondary story showcasing the extremely beautiful DC artist Nicola Scott:
http://www.bleedingcool.com/2010/06/20/runaround-buying-the-hardbook/
hey she is cute
Did you happen to read where I wrote above that, “Sooner than I’d like, young kids will grow up not even knowing what paper periodicals are.”?
Well, check this out (idea from Comics Beat):
that was pretty cool
Nemesis #3 has a new ship date of August 18th. Damn, what a joke.
J.
Hah, what’d you expect? He needs more time to thoroughly study Otomo’s work so he can steal from it…
@assemble,avengers; I noticed that your name goes red when I pass over it , but nothing comes on when I click your name. Do you or have you had a blog that is now defunct?
It links to his Youtube channel.
You must have magic vocal chords, CBS. After the info you gave me, I tried clicking on AA1234’s name again and whaddaya know..his channel popped up.
thx
Magic fingers.
Ha. Frank Quitely’s real name is Vincent Deighan.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Quitely
j did you post something about this actress i thought i saw the name but couldnt find the post
this show looks like it might be good
just watched the first two episodes. I thought this show is pretty bland, it might change as the season progresses.
this show looks like it might good cast looks good amc does good stuff
The pilot aired earlier this month. I starts August 1st.
Just watched the pilot. This show has promise, I will be watching future episodes. The pacing is slow but in a good way.
Watched it last night myself, it was pretty interesting if not muted.
I never really tried buying them from the UK version. I just assumed I’d get slammed with oversea shipping rates…
A good little interview with Nicola Scott about how she got her start in comics:
http://wentworth-courier.whereilive.com.au/news/story/potts-points-own-wonder-woman/
In it she mentions she’s working on a Wonder Woman mini written by Greg Rucka. I wasn’t aware of that. Probably a case of me just being behind on my comic book news. A Ruck/Scott WW mini sounds AWESOME!
She’s cute.
She’s also a good artist. Go figure.
J.
Rucka has gone on record saying he is not doing anything for DC for at least a few years. That’s why he is not writing the new Batwoman series. I am wondering if this article is referring to the Blackest Night Wonder Woman series. Hopefully it is something that IS already written and she is still working on.
Thanks for posting this though.
J.
http://www.comicvine.com/the-light-bumper-edition-issues-12/37-220212/
Anyone like this series? Looks interesting…
Is anyone here into X-Factor? If so, would you recommend it since issue 200?
I read X-Factor and love it #200 is a good jumping on point. And FYI, Elliott and I talked about Shadowland in the Last Rants segment we taped today just because you asked. That vid will probably be up late this week.
J.
Many thanks, Jose! 🙂
Is anyone else annoyed by that swarm of bees in the background of the World Cup?
P.S. I know it’s those goofy African horns, it’s just they are really fucking annoying after awhile.
After a while I am already used to it and don’t really hear it anymore. Then again I do watch a lot of futbol regularly so maybe I am just immune to it now.
BBBBBBBBBBBZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
J.
When I get into a match it becomes less of a issue, but now you have adult swim using it in their ad bumps.
Ha ha, I saw that on the Squidbillies commercial! Or rather, heard.
J.
Anything like this?
Exactly like that.
J.
I’m setting that sound as my new ring tone to bug my coworkers.
Oh, that is fucking awesome! He he…
J.
Where do Tim and Eric get their weed?
I have no idea but I want some of their hydroponic shit. You know it’s gotta be fucking good.
J.
It’s fucking Awesome, and apparently a great job. hehe
HA!
J.
Anyone see this? I just finished watching it, pretty great flick.
My only problem was that it felt more like England then Russia.
