It’s good to see Bobcat Goldthwait is still getting work.
Also if I may be so bold…
Does anyone here remember this flick? I can get non-comics fans to talk about it, but fans who are even into animation seem to be unaware.
I have this on dvd. My first exposure to cartoon bewbs.
On a side note, Julie Strain slapped my ass! I have witnesses!
Did you see the second one? And if how do you think it compared to the first?
Are you talking about that F.A.K.K./Heavy Metal 2000 shit? It was fucking terrible. Don’t even waste your time.
Which is probably exactly what Kevin Eastman thought when he saw his Penthouse Pet wife running out the door a few years later.
Eastman is still rubbing his body with all that ninja turtle money laughing at all us.
Ain’t that the fucking truth.
Eastman BLEW ALL his TNMT money… And I believe he sold ALL his interest to Peter Laird to stay afloat. It’s actually kinda sad.
I’m not saying he’s living on easy street either. I think he’s definitely eyeing middle class suburbia. His publishing company– Tundra– lost MILLIONS.
Laird, I think, probably has every dime. (Unless he has a tranny fetish I’m unaware of– or something.)
That sucks, because I believe Nickelodeon is scheduled to release a new animated TMNT series.
Julie Strain, however, is living on a posh RANCH with a rich new hubby.
Is it me, or did this just get weird. He he
Yeah, I didn’t bother, the original was pretty awesome.
I think the first still holds up as a decent piece of animation.Guys like Chaykin and Neal Adams did designs and the stories were influenced by Rich Corben,Bernie Wrightson and Moebius. So I’m surprised more comics fans aren’t into it.
I saw a preview of the 2nd one and it looked like they spent $75 on it. I never bothered to watch it.
Ha! I saw this one at the movies as a kid. I convinced my grandma to take me by telling her it was just a cartoon. I knew it wasn’t for kids, but had no idea just how much nudity and sex was in it. Needless to say it was a pretty awkward two hours for the both of us.
Be a kid and convince your Mom to watch the Exorcist with you.
You’ll definitely be “sucking cocks in hell” for that slight against God.
Scars both emotional and physical eh? Insideman =)
IM, that sounds like me and my mother, except my mom was more like “Bah,whatever”. She didn’t freak out tho’ it could’ve been just that era. Boobs were everywhere in the movies in the mid 80’s it seemed…
Well, that reminds me of the time I was visiting at my grandparents house, and we decided to rent a movie. We were going to rent White Heat, but then I saw a movie that Roger Ebert had raved about on Siskil & Ebert, so I said lets rent that instead. Well, that movie turned out to be Blue Velvet. Talk about an awkward two hours.
Looks like I turned you onto some good shit, huh IM?
Indeed Jose, I find myself listening to Metric more and more. It’s good music to listen to while writing.
I have to thank Pobra though for getting ME into Metric.
Yeah metric rocks, metric > imperial at any time.
*ahem*, lets not forget who turned YOU on to that good shit J. 😉
uhhhh… you can probably just ignore that last comment…. my foot in mouth disorder kicked in again.
😦 <—- shame.
Is this the same Metric that is on the “Twilight: Eclipse” soundtrack??? 🙂
BUT they have a couple of songs on the Scott Pilgrim soundtrack so that balances out. They also has a song on the Defendor soundtrack (which is 100% better than Kick Ass btw).
I was just FUNNIN’ ya.
I don’t blame ANYBODY who’s trying to make a buck in the morass we call ENTERTAINMENT today.
If a spot on a Twilight soundtrack helps a great band be heard and become more popular… MORE POWER TO THEM.
I mean, would you turn down, say, the “True Blood” producers wanting you and Elliott to film a fake vid that say, was dissing VAMPIRE movies or comics?
I bet I already know the answer. 😉
“I mean, would you turn down, say, the “True Blood” producers wanting you and Elliott to film a fake vid that say, was dissing VAMPIRE movies or comics?”
Heh, I know you already KNOW the answer to this but much to Elliott’s chagrin I would probably turn down anything that offered money for me to essentially not speak from the heart.
I’ve pretty much accepted my lot in life and somebody offering me money to change my opinion is just not something that I am interested in. I know most comic websites don’t feel this way ot have this problem but that’s kinda why they suck.
I have never thought for a minute about making money off of what E and I do basically for fun. The guys over at other youtube review “shows” obviously don’t think the same way but that’s their prerogative.
And, ya, I know you were joking when you made that comment but I’ve been drinking so…ya, long diatribe.
Yeah, I was– but it was good you clarified it for everybody… I know some definite whores that run comic critique sites. 😉
And I will start with… No, I better not. “Slander Defense” isn’t a line item in my budget right now. 🙂
On the other hand, if that actually happened, you could record something that is ‘exactly what they paid for’, but that the audience reads ‘hahahahahahaha, nice sarcasm’.
But that is me and my Lokiness 😉
On the subject of animated movies, along with Donna Summer changing up from disco, this is what got me into rock.
dedicated to all my fellow agents if atlas fans
Always thought this would make a great theme song for just about any super hero.
one of the anthems of my youth i used to blast this song i ran across it on the utube
