  1. God damn do I despise the “art” of Greg Land. Fucking piece of shit hack.

And a link to a classic Newsarama thread from Bleeding Cool commenter “Emperor”. I enjoyed this trip down memory lane immensely.

    • Venom829 says:

I hear you Jose. Why the man still has a job or fans is a mystery I cannot solve on any level whatsoever.

      • Check out some of the comments on that Bleeding Cool post. Commenter “Emperor” has a quote (and link) from Joe Quesada answering that very question. And it is fucking ridiculous.

        • Venom829 says:

My only answer to that is yes I WOULD feel better, and yes I COULD sleep at night knowing Greg Land will never crap all over my beloved comics! πŸ˜›

        • At the comic conventions here in Minnesota we always have a raffle drawing and the previous two conventions I’ve gone to, I’ve won something. The last convention I went to I won a free copy of the X-Men Legacy#235 David Finch variant cover (I chose it because I thought the cover was awesome). Then later on I realized that Greg Land did the interior art and I didn’t like that… Still it is an awesome cover and I’m glad I got it.

Now addressing Quesada’s answer: Yes, artists do start out using references to get a feel on how to draw. I, myself am doing that. But eventually you have to move on from that and develop your own style. You can’t make a living using someone else’s work.

    • Insideman says:

      The Newsarama thread was priceless.

    • Deemar says:

How the hell do you swipe from yourself?

      That’s incestous

      • Venom829 says:

I love the word incestous Dee! It’s like you and me keep coming up with new words for the blog, epicness, fantawesome πŸ˜›

    • Stamps says:

Greg Land is SOOOO shady. I wonder how he goes over with other comic book artists. I would be so pissed if I was an artist in the industry.

That newsarama thread was shear genius. I like the part where it shows how he’s traced his own damn art!

The pornface girl is still remains my favorite Greg Land “drawing”

      • Locusmortis says:

There was a post at bleedingcool that showed up the complete void of creativity in Land

“Then one year while Crossgen was still around, I met him at Wizardworld Philly. He drew me a picture of Arwen from Sojourn (Who by the way looks like almost every female he draws now) anyway, the point I am getting to is this, He had to open a Sojourn comic to find a picture of Arwen to draw for me because he could not draw his own character that he drew in almost 125 panels a month off the top of his head.”

      • Venom829 says:

That stuff makes me laugh so hard because it sucks so bad, and you KNOW where he is getting it from too. πŸ™‚

    • Pobra says:

Wow, that newsarama thread was pretty fucking epic. I’d never seen it before, thanks for posting J. Land is hilariously awful.

  2. The Amazing Mike says:

I loved Scott Pilgrim. My whole group did.

  3. MicahSkin says:

Just polished off Starcraft 2 on Hard. brutal is next. But until then, PRACTICE HAS STARTED AGAIN!!!! AKA Something to do other than read my X-Factor issues and trades.

  4. TheGateJester says:

I don’t know why, but I have had this song stuck in my head this whole week.

  5. kurumais says:

did anyone else watch sherlock? what did you think? it wasnt what i expected i enjoyed it but i didnt think it would be so comic culture-ish.

  6. Locusmortis says:

What scobies do in their spare time

  7. Stamps says:

So DC just announced that there is going to be a new Batman title starting in November called “Batman Inc.” I’m excited to see that Grant Morrison is going to be writing it. Even cooler is that from the first pictures Batman is back to wearing the yellow and black oval logo on his chest again. I’ve kind-of missed that look on Bats.

    • kurumais says:

i fear the yellow oval it usually means a cheesy batman
grant morrison interview with la times in which he says you can do gay batman is just another bit of evidence to me he has no desire to write the contemporary, as is batman.
btw grant we already have gay batman his name is midnighter

    • Venom829 says:

I saw the David Finch re-design, and I tghought it was a combonation of the black and white Bob Kane look with the yellow oval Neal Adams re-design, Batman books are just going to be EPIC now!!!

    • i don’t know i’m not a big fan of the yellow circle. there was an excuse they said that the yellow beacause he had kevlar under the yellow much like the excuse for captain america being so colourful beacause he was to draw the fire of the enemies in battle meh

can’t believe they’re launching another batman ongoing series fuck off dc i thought all the basterds in the comic industry were at marvel

      • Venom829 says:

I would actually read Batman.Inc, and David Finch’s series since Tony Daniel is writing the main Batman title, his art is terrible, but as long as someone else writes, I can be somewhat interested in it, but him drawing and writing, no. The new Bat-books sound intersteing to me cause of Tony Daniel crapping all over my fav. book, and Grant MNorrison is writing so I am interested.

    • Venom829 says:

The only problem is that the Earth-1 Batman has almost the same costume with MINOR differences, but not enough to get me angry at them.

    • Pobra says:

i don’t much care for the premise of Batman Inc. but i’ve learned to trust Morrison when it comes to Bats, so i’ll for sure give it a chance. As for the yellow logo, it doesn’t really bother me, it’s a cool logo, i can live with it. Although having the second bat logo on his belt seems a little redundant.

  8. kurumais says:

Just joined net flicks going crazy watching movies

Watched UP last night best movie ive seen all year I wanted to see in the theaters but for some reason I missed it. I don’t think there was a weak part of that whole movie.

Watched Gamera the Brave. I was very nervous about this one, im a huge fan of the gamera trilogy by shusuke kaneko. But the makers of this know their gamera old school and the modern, and surprisingly deliver a solid kaiju movie even though it was aimed at kids . I would say a rent not a buy though. The review over at cinefantastique pretty much says everything I thought about the movie and much better then I could.
The kid in it ryo tomioka reminded me of Philip kwok the guy who played the lizard in the 5 deadly venoms and starred in a host of other shaw brother movies.

Last and very much least I forced myself to watch the animated hellboy movie blood and iron. I truly had to force myself to watch till the end . most of this movie from the art dialogue and plot seems to have been aimed at a kiddie carton spinoff like say the ghost buster cartoon with slimer on the team. Then out of blue they start cursing or lots of blood and gore it was very odd and not entertaining. As for the voice acting everyone but ron perlman should give the money back. John hurt’s prof brunttenholm annoyed me so much I was actively rooting for him to die. The script threw in a bunch of characters that did nothing for the story. The art looked 10 years old at least to me . unless you are one of the hellboy faithful skip this flick .

  9. There was a crazy thunderstorm last night, so that prevented me from being on the computer. Plus the internet connection was awful anyway. On the bright side I got a lot of reading done!

I finished Fire by Brian Michael Bendis. Overall I thought it was good. Very thrilling and keeps your attention most of the time. It was a bit too short, IMO. After reading this I’m willing to see Zac Efron play the main character in the movie adaptation of this.

Jose, when are you going to start watching the new season of Hell’s Kitchen?!? The season finale was last night!

I also got to trim down the HUGE pile of comics to read, which was very nice. That pile was very itimidating and still is…

I’m also reading Ender’s Game for my school summer reading. Pretty good so far.

  10. MicahSkin says:

    His “Butterstar” was awesome.

  11. Mike F says:

My anime store got the Bayonetta figures in today.

I still haven’t played the game (since most reviews said its just button mashing – which I don’t even mind) but the figure was GORGEOUS and I’m already eager to buy it ^_^

    • I don’t understand why people HATE button-mashing so much. It’s not that big a deal to me. As long as the game has a good story and is fun I like the game. Don’t even get me started on people who nit-pick the graphics…

    • Mike F says:

Yeah I like Button Mashing but to a degree. The reviews all said its just that. Nothing else, of course they might just be taking out their anger on it and giving false reviews to people, but I still see some interest in the game.

Graphics are cool with me too. I mean people who complain about graphics? really? WERE LUCKY to live in an age where games can produce graphics like they do now… Jeez, some people are just never happy.

      • Some of my friends give me crap about LOVING the old-school Pokemon games because they have poor graphics compared to the new ones. I told one of my friends, “Well guess what? The past is the past! Are you going to hate Assassin’s Creed 2 ten years from now because it’s going to have “poor” graphics compared to the games in the future?” I don’t remember his exact answer. It was probably a lame one πŸ™‚

Graphics can help or hurt the game, but if that’s ALL that matters to you you may want to find out that video games aren’t just about the graphics. I hate when people bitch and moan about “old-school” graphics when I know for a fact they LOVED them back in the day.

    • Oh, Mike. It is NOT just button mashing. Sad to hear that’s why you haven’t played it. Bayonetta was the best pure action game I have played in a long time. I’ve played through it at least 4 times and then some. Haters gonna hate.

      • Insideman says:

I justed picked that up for $19.99 brand new the other day. Xbox 360 or POS3 Jose?(j/k)!

      • Mike F says:

I’ve been very eager to play it, honestly. I just always hear people say its mostly that. I usually don’t go by reviewers (CCW being the exception πŸ˜‰ I love me some action games and the character was cool too ! I’m happy to hear from you tho that its more than button hitting.

        • The game gets pretty hard pretty quick. If all people do is button mash they will not survive long. It’s all about stringing combos together, timing dodges perfectly and counterattacks. It’s a pretty deep fighting system. And your tactics change every time you use a different weapon.

        • Mike F says:

Whats the layout for the game’s goals? Just fight thru to bosses? or is it like an J-RPG?

          • It’s like Devil May Cry. Almost every stage has a boss. You spend experience on new weapons, “heart containers”, extending your magic “bar”. The cool thing though is that once you beat a stage you can go back and replay it as much as you want. At the end of fights you get a letter grade. At the end of the stage it averages all of your letter grades into an overall trophy for that stage. By replaying stages you can get better trophies or just grind so you can level up your character. There is a lot of freedom on when and how to progress.

          • Mike F says:

If its like Devil May Cry, then I must try it.

Plus I hate playing levels and getting a bad score and not being able to move on. Sometimes time is too restricted. Good to know I can replay it later.

  12. Mike F says:

Stupid article in my opinion. They’re all acting like “manga” is a completely different world from USA comics when really they’re BOTH comics. My roommate, whose from Japan, even refers to Manga as comics since its the same thing. In Japan they’re realized much more similar to the way they’re in USA, the first few pages in Color as well in full page length when serialized in magazines. A lot of these idiots who commented on that page’s article kept saying how USA comics are all about heroes and long continuity when I bet none of them ever heard of WE3, or SEAGUY, or PRIDE OF BAGHDAD or limited series that are much similar to Manga styles.

I love both, honestly, I just think that article was a complete waste of time and preached the same crowd of idiots that probably edited the article itself.

  13. Pobra says:

The Mrs. is on her way home with chicken gyros and tabbouleh. Life is good… πŸ™‚

  14. Pobra says:

So Jose, just to clarify, there are going to be TWO Scott Pilgrim soundtracks?
I’m guessing one will be dedicated to the fictional bands in the movie?

  15. Just read Morning Glories #1. Pretty good first issue and it was 44 pages of art (no ads) for $3.99. Can’t fucking beat that.

  16. Pobra says:

    oh, duh. πŸ˜›

  17. Anybody else download this yet for the PS3?

    • Pobra says:

that is almost reason enough for me to purchase a PS3.

      • No kidding. I don’t have a PS3, but I really want to play this!!! Plus, most of my friends have an Xbox 360 😦

Xbox 360= the most OVERRATED gaming system EVAR!!!

        • Venom829 says:

Hey hey hey, I’m planning on buying an elite CBD πŸ˜›

          • Sorry Venom, but most of the time at school my friends are talking about their Xbox 360 games, gamer points, awesome/great killshots on COD, etc. ad nausium. It’s kinda soiled my interest on getting one, but if you like it more power to you.

Although I do have one friend who is above the average X-bot and I enjoy playing video games w/ him. Although when some of my friends are complaining about being killed by a “noob tube” it gets irratating.

I don’t even want to begin talking about Xbox Live…

            • Venom829 says:

Oh I’m just yankin’ ya for fun, no serious intentions, just in the name of fun. I like X-Box, I originally had an arcade, but it suffered the red ring of death, then I used my roommates, now I’m moving out, and I can hopefully buy an elite, when they came out they were $450, now they’re $250, so that’s in my ballpark. If I ever buy a PS3, it will probably be for only PS3 exclusive games, and movies on blu-ray.

              • Insideman says:

I have both systems and I prefer my Xbox 360. Mainly I like their controller better. Biggest selection of the BEST GAMES– 99.9% of the time cheaper than the PS3 versions.

That written, I just bought Bayonetta and GTA Liberty City Stories for PS3 because they were cheaper. I really don’t care which system I play. I buy the games cheap– and like I just wrote… The Xbox normally has cheaper games because the Xbox versions sell more copies.

I bought an Arcade with the Jasper chipset. Then upfitted it with all the bells and whistles. Has played as quiet as a church mouse since the day I bought it. Not one problem. Ever.

When I first played Left for Dead on Xbox Live I had a guy shoot me in the head so I wouldn’t hold the group up. I noted his name– then played the game by myself until I got really good at it. Then went back on and waited for him and fucked with him enormously. πŸ˜‰

Then I grew up and just played regular. Now I have several ladies I play with… All really cool. How did that happen? I didn’t ask them if they shaved their cooch after playing with them for 3 minutes… That’s how. πŸ™‚

              • Insideman says:

P.S. I used to think the PS3 Blu Ray player was really cool until a friend showed me how swift and easy dedicated Blu Ray players really work.

The PS3 Blu Ray seems so slow and clunky now.

    • IronMuskrat says:

Once again you taunt me with your PS3 Jose.. Damn You!

      • Venom829 says:

He’ll taunt you like how Pobra taunts us with what his wife is delicliously cooking him πŸ˜›

        • IronMuskrat says:

My wife can’t make Tabbouleh, but I think I can convince her to make me some Pork Sinigang or Chicken Adobo =)

        • Pobra says:

oh, she’s an excellent chef, but for really good Greek food it’s all about take out from an authentic, Greek owned and operated eatery. And we’re not actually married yet. πŸ˜‰

    • haha this looks AWESOME! and hilarious

hey jose can you ask elliot to e-mail me i e-mailed him in june and he hasn’t e-mailed me back. i know elliot must be so busy with everything he does and san diego just happened and other stuff.

but anyway can you please ask him for an e-mail or you should confront him on the show about it that would be hilarious hahahahaha. anyway if you can ask him about e-mailing me back, i don’t mean to sound like a whiney fan of the show but if you could get him to e-mail me that mean a lot to me thank you. smiley face!

    • Insideman says:

      No but I’m gonna!

      • If you ever want to send me a friend request my PSN tag is Ninjaraiden75.

        • Insideman says:

          I can do that! πŸ™‚

        • Dre says:

What sort of games do you have or normally play besides FF?

          • Here’s what I have for PS3:

            Metal Gear Solid 4
            Resident Evil 5
            Yakuza 3
            Soul Calibur 4
            Super Street Fighter 4
Rockband 1 and 2 and Beatles Rockband
            Burnout Paradise
            Fallout 3
            Uncharted 1 and 2
            Valkyria Chronicles

and tons more for PS2, Wii, and Gamecube. I don’t play first person shooters…ever.

            • Those are some nice games you have Jose! Have you ever played Red Faction Guerilla? That game is so messed up and crazy. In a good way.

Soulcaliber 4 is great. That’s a game that rules out button mashing.

I LOVE Burnout Paradise. Sometimes at my friend’s house I’ll just drive around crashing my car πŸ™‚ Playing on a motorcycle in that game sucks though 😦

              • Venom829 says:

                Burnout Paradise ROCKS!

              • Thanks. While I am at it I’ll list some of my other games. I am more into creative, emotional, artsy, Japanese games than anything else.

                Silent Hill 1,2,3,4
                Onimusha 1,2,3,4
                SSX 3, On Tour
                Burnout 3, Revenge
                God Hand
                Viewtiful Joe 1,2
                Space Channel 5 1,2
                We Love Katamari
                Magna Carta
                Indigo Prophecy
                Yakuza 1,2
                Persona 3, FES, 4
                Suikoden Tactics
                God of War 1,2
                Devil May Cry 3
                R-Type Final
                Shadow of the Colossus
                Odin Sphere
                Guitaroo Man
                Rogue Galaxy
                Dragon Quest 8

…and more. Killing virtual people/players is not my thing. I play games to distract me from everyday shit.

                • Mike F says:

                  What? mo Melee ???

                  • I didn’t list my Wii or Gamecube games. πŸ™‚

I do have Brawl. It had Snake in it. How could I not buy it?

                    • Mike F says:

Haha, I couldn’t make myself buy Brawl. Its fun and always great when your hanging with friends, but I easily got bored with it unlike my friends. Haha its just me tho. That and the fact that Chrono wasn’t in it.

                • Yeah I’m not too crazy about killing virtual/online characters/players either. I tend to just watch my friends do that. Although in Red Faction, I mainly like to take the buildings apart bit by bit. I try to avoid killing virtual characters that can’t defend themselves. COD and Halo ain’t my thing! Not to mention seriously overrated. I have seen people play Halo for 8 HOURS STRAIGHT. I wish I had brought a video recorder because the people playing the games looked ridiculous. I just sat back and read comic books or played my Nintendo DS.

                  • Mike F says:

Unlike most Sony lovers (which I am one) I do believe Halo 1 was a good game. BUT ONLY ONE. Honestly, the makers had a different vision then, and then it became so big that it diverted their vision to garbage. two and three were awful but one really had character for a sci-fi game.

                  • Venom829 says:

I don’t like killing in games as a rule for me, only one game I like where killing is involved because the personal story of the main character interested me enough for me to like it.

                  • Dre says:

My feeling too on killing in videogames, CBD. It’s been pretty tough playing MGS4 using mostly tranquilizers and istead of just sniping everyone who gets in my way. It’s strangehow gulty I feel when I kill people who aren’t even real. BTW, I’m only up the octo lady fight (forgot her name). She’s proven pretty difficult so far (for me, anyway). I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve failed trying to defeat her and the frogs.

                • Mike F says:

Indigo Prophecy. Nice. Quantic Dream really is one of the cleverest bunch of developers in my opinion. I myself love the mythology of video games and could never get enough talking about them.

                • Dre says:

SSX Tricky is my favorite of that series.

            • Dre says:

              Do you play Tekken?

              • I played the first 3. I liked them. I really liked Virtua Fighter 4 too. I used to play Tekken all the time with one of my brothers and had plenty of good times. I am more of a Street Fighter player. I will be checking out Street Fighter vs Tekken though. Looks pretty good.

                • Dre says:

Oh. Since you have VF I thought you might of have Tekken 6 and just had forgotten to list it. I would have liked to go a couple rounds with you. >:)

anyone else get the new BPRD hell on earth today.
this comic has not had a bad arc. it has been so consistant since its start. along with hellboy. over 15 years now, and its still putting out great cosmic horror.

its sad alot of people dont read it. mostly because of that crummy movie that made it seem like a superhero story

  19. I just finished Marvel Universe vs. Punisher#1. All I have to say is: It’s a fun book and thank God I decided not to read this during dinner!

One thing is bugging me: Where in the f#$% does this story take place? Is it an elseworld type of story? Is it a dream? Someone please help me out here!

  20. Man, it’s dead tonight! What’re you guys doing tonight?

    • Trying to finish Final Fantasy XIII.

    • Mike F says:

I’ve been reading a few old school Frank Miller DD comics and composing some new music.

      • Frank Miller’s DD is definitely one of my all-time favorite comic book runs. If I had to make a Top 10 list, his run on DD would definitely be on there. Mike, have you ever read Daredevil: Born Again?

I didn’t know you composed music, Mike! That’s pretty cool. What kind of music do you compose?

        • Mike F says:

I have read Born Again. Its actually one of my favorite stories, personally too. I was really sick when my mom bought it for me as a gift a while ago, and in the story seeing Daredevil get all healed up again from the Nun really affected me and made me feel a lot more optimistic (during a time of intense sickness) so its one of those stories that I literally have to have with me at all times.

His DD run is really impressing me. I finally after years of waiting got around to the main run volumes. 1, 2, and 3. Still on Volume 2 now. Loving every panel of every issue man.

Music wise, I like to write for indie video games at college campuses around where I live in New York. But anything really, peaceful piano music to fun dance electronic stuff, or jazz fusion, or anything really.

          • Venom829 says:

Yes Frank Millar’s DD is ood, I believe Born Again was fantawesome. πŸ˜›

          • Born Again is easily in my Top 5 favorite comic book stories of all time. The scenes where the Nun being DD’s mother and when Karen and Matt re-unite caused tears to flow from my eyes. Some of the most touching scenes I’ve ever read in any kind of literature. Plus Mazzucchelli’s art work was perfect. That’s a neat story you have Mike. I love hearing stories like that.

I can share one of my more recent stories. The day after last years’ Christmas I was hospitalized for several hours because of a sickness (can’t remember what exactly what it was). But I got home at 3 AM and woke up at about 8 AM. I was in the mood to read something since I had gotten a bunch of comics for Christmas (the original issues of Born Again were part of that) and one of my LCS were selling back issues for $1 a piece. So I picked up Thunderbolts#139 out of the pile of comics I bought and it was so well written that I felt better and more happy. And, lo and behold, wouldn’t you know it Jeff Parker was a guest at the next convention I went to and had him sign that issue of Thunderbolts. I’ve been typing some wordy comments lately πŸ™‚

Aw man, I love stories like that too. Where the comic isn’t just a comic, it has a special meaning behind it. This is what comics are meant for. Having a powerful message. Giving us all hope. I remember finishing the book and feeling like I, myself, was born again. Seeing life in a more positive way, and taking better care of myself. And yes, the artwork went nicely.

              • I completely agree. I read a re-print of ASM#33 one day because I had remembered that my dad said it was his favorite comic book. For those who don’t know, ASM#33 is when a huge piece of machinery falls down on Spidey, who is very weak, trying to grab something that will save his Aunt’s life, and trying to escape that situation while the room is flooding. He is about to give up, but remembers what’s at stake and to never give up. He succeds at lifting the machinery while yelling, “I won’t give up!”

That story is my favorite comic book ever and really got to me. It’s one of the many morals Spider-Man has taught me and I still carry those morals with me today. Naruto has also helped me with gaining morals, such as never giving up and keeping your promises.

i loved born again look what miller did in a few panels with my favorite character cap
yeah that run was a game changer for sure

      Been really busy this week..

but things have calmed down a bit now and I am drinking a little and writing a little alternate conversation between Galileo and Isaac Newton in SHIELD #3..

with all apologies to Jonathan Hickman.. =)

Waiting for people to get on the blog πŸ˜‰

    • Venom829 says:

      And Facebook.

  21. FINALLY. I beat FFXIII…and ya, I admit to crying a bit during the end cutscene. I guess when you invest 90 hours into the game that’s bound to happen.

    • Venom829 says:

    • WHOO-HOO! Now you get to spend more time here πŸ™‚ lol jk

Hey, J don’t worry about crying at the end of a game. I beat Pokemon: Heart Gold and tears were coming down. I suppose since I grew up with the original Gold version factored into that as well, but still! People think I’m crazy for buying Pokemon games as soon as they come out, but when it comes to Pokemon talk about bang for your buck! Those games are never ending!

      • You know what man? I didn’t grow up on Pokemon but I DID grow up on many other video games. If Pokemon is your thing, more power to you. Everyone’s got their favorite game. You’re not crazy for buying it still. If Kojima puts out a new Metal Gear when I’m 60 (if I live that long) I guarantee you I will be buying it. πŸ˜‰

        • Playing Heart Gold was such a nostalgic experiance for me. Once you get all 16 gym badges you are able to get a device that allows you to be able to change the remixed music to the old music from the original version.

The re-mixed Champion music was so epic.

    • IronMuskrat says:

      Congrats Jose!

Time to start an epic mech opening thread.

  23. You do not want to get into a mech duel with me. πŸ™‚

  24. cballsack says:

    Anyone seen this?

  25. Insideman says:

Jose, I have a question about Fallout 3… I was playing and playing that damn thing and then I was sent off to look for some other complex that– according to the internet– was supposed to be entered through someone’s dilapidated garage. Meant a lot of traveling… and I have never found it and I can’t find anybody to tell me where it is.

Do you have any idea what I am talking about? I could be more specific– except it’s been awhile. But I had to pass by the big Super Mart and all that stuff and I haven’t bee able to find the entrance to this complex anywhere.

I guess I am at least halfway through the original game if not further.

BTW– do you ever get sick while playing this… Sometimes like motion sickness. I do! I’m playing it on a 50″ Samsung Plasma… Do you think that has something to do with it? I have never gotten a sick feeling playing video games before. But Left forDead does the same thing to me.

    • I don’t know exactly what you’re talking about with Fallout 3. I have logged over 120 hours into that game and am still only like 40% done. I haven’t played it for a while so I would have to go back to find out exactly what part you are mentioning.

As far as the motion sickness goes, are you playing it in first-person mode? That might have something to do with it. I play in third-person mode so I haven’t felt sick as of yet.

      • Insideman says:

First person mode. I am such an idiot. That has to be it!

I’ve always played/raced/flown in first person mode. Played all through Halo that way. I should have realized this.

Also– thanks for not making me feeling like an idiot on the number of hours I have logged on Fallout. For all I know, I’m only 40% done myself and the rest is wishful thinking. πŸ˜‰

        • I would never make a fellow gamer feel bad. πŸ˜‰

I don’t really play too many first-person games. Everything I play is usually third-person. I know you can switch between first and thirst in Fallout but I just play what I am most comfortable with.

As for only being 40% done with Fallout, I got the DLC that allows you to go over the level 20 cap so that added more onto the game for me.

  26. Insideman says:

I ordered TWO DC Chronicles Aquaman statues this week. Decided to do a little speculating! There were only 1,000 of the DC Chronicles Batman statue made.

Don’t know if Aquaman had the same run as Batman (doubt it)… As every piece of Aquaman merchandise always seems to be in lower numbers… Then Aquaman fans find out about the stuff later and pay.

We’ll see. I feel the same way about those gorgeous Adam Hughes inspired Cover Girls of the DC Universe statues.

  27. Alright CCW Nation I’m gonna call it a night! Good night everyone! Take care!

  28. So, I bought some of those frozen PB&J sandwiches. I just got the munchies and went to go eat one and it tasted like poop after the first bite. I then noticed on the box I am supposed to let it thaw for like 30 minutes to an hour. Sigh…I guess I’ll eat it later. 😦

I wish Adult Swim would stop showing King of the Hill. A whole hour of this is too much for me to take.

Well, if you ever wonder what kind of shit I think about after a six pack of beer.. brace yourself =)

This is my imaginary conversastion between Galileo and Newton after Newton’s return from the Deviant City in SHIELD #3..

Galileo Galilei – Brother Newton, I am glad to see you are in good health after your return from your long and arduous mission to The Deviant City.

Isaac Newton- Thank You Brother Galileo, I have to say this was a very interesting mission to say the least, difficult at first , but things got better as I gained knowledge about the Deviant culture.

Galileo- Yes, that is why I called you here today for this meeting, I believe we may have given you the wrong impression in terms of the goals you where to complete in the city.

Newton- Well, I recall I was to gain as much hidden knowledge as I could about the the Deviant culture..

    Galileo- Yes, of course..

Newton- And bang the shit out of the deviant women!

Galileo- Humm, yes, that is the matter of contention here, I believe you went a bit overboard in regards to the whole β€œMating” thing. As you know, we had already arranged in advance that you would be given the book of Hidden Arts after your symbolic pairing with Morda the Beast. The key word here being ‘Symbolic’.

Newton- Yes, but you didn’t say the I ‘Couldn’t’ have sex with her, right?

Galileo- I didn’t think that such a thing would even have to be stated before hand, she is a Deviant Beast, one step up from a Monitor Lizard, the idea that you would even attempt such a thing was not considered or even thought physically possible.

Newton- Your telling me, it took a week just to find the right hole, if you know what I mean!

Galileo- No, I don’t know what you mean, nor do I want to know.

Newton- Well, if you ever do, it’s in my report.

Galileo- Yes, about that report, it’s appears to be three hundred pages of nothing but your sexually exploits while in the Deviant city. All written of course, as a letter to the Penthouse forum. Most unprofessional.

Newton- Did you get to the part where I explained how you have to use all ten fingers to give a Deviant woman the ‘shocker’?

Galileo- What? No! Look Isaac, you don’t seem to realize her just how serious the situation is here. Morda the Beast was the Deviant king’s daughter and somehow, beyond all measures of science, you got her pregnant! The Deviant king is shocked by this development, it just not possible!

Newton- Hey if at first you don’t succeed, try again! and holy shit did I try, it took me a year of hitting it every which way from Sunday, but I finally found the sweet spot. You should be proud of my scientific diligence here.

Galileo- Once again I feel the need to point out that your mission was to gather hidden arts from the the deviants! Not as you say in your report..”blow the doors off Morda!”

Newton- Dude! The hidden knowledge was written in a book! Sitting on a pedestal. All I had to do was read it. Now finding the ‘G’ Spot on a Deviant beast women, that was hard!

Galileo- This is pointless, it will take years to repair the damage done to our relationship with the Deviants! For the time being I am removing you from your upcoming mission.

Newton- What! I was looking forward to that mission! Who better than me to retrieve the Staff of Power from the Tribe of Eternal Virgins of Boo Fi Yu?

Galileo- We are sending the head of Benjamin Franklin to complete that mission.

Newton- What? Ben is just a head in a glass jar, how can he gather forbidden knowledge if he can’t have sex to get what he wants? I don’t understand!

    Galileo- I know you don’t!

Newton- Dude, me and my penis will be running SHIELD someday!

    Galileo- Good luck with that!

  30. Insideman says:

Here’s a tip Jose… I didn’t know you were drinking tonight. Beer and PB & J don’t mix… Unless you’ve imbibed enough that even shit doesn’t taste bad… And that is obvious not the case… Yet.

It’s like this asses that always try to convince you that beer and chocolate chip cookies go together. They fucking don’t. I’ve even had beer and dog biscuits. They’re greasy and don’t have anywhere near enough salt to compliment the suds.

  31. So, I just ate that PB&J sandwich. Damn! I would say that was the best thing I ever ate but there is the matter of my ex-girlfriend.

    She was a chef.

  32. Insideman says:

    • Whaaaaaaaaat? How come I’ve never heard about this before? I’m a big fan of Gordon Ramsey. If there is a show with him in it I usually like it. I’ll have to look into this.

Here’s another review from your “favorite” comic store reviewers Jose!

    Daredevil #509
written by Andy Diggle & Anthony Johnston
art by Roberto De La Torre

You know that feeling you get when you run into your psycho ex-girlfriend, and she actually seems happy to see you? Prepare yourself for that. Stomach settled yet? Good. The aforementioned scene is worth the cost of the book alone. This is yet another solid Daredevil entry that provides the peanut butter to Shadowland’s jelly. The art is pretty good, save a few panels on which you may do a double take, and the characterizations are accurate. Of particular note in this book is Foggy who deserves a lot more love than he gets. I recommend this book as it just continues to build steam toward its inevitably tragic conclusion. Speaking of endings, I’m pulling for a battle royale between all of Matt’s crazy ex-girlfriends in Shadowland #6. That’s right, Black Widow, Elektra, White Tiger (yes, I know she’s a β€œwork” wife), Typhoid Mary, and Dakota North, etc.
    Marvel are you listening?

“This is yet another solid Daredevil entry that provides the peanut butter to Shadowland’s jelly.”

Bet you’d wished you had said something this snappy! πŸ˜‰
