I wanna try and pick up INFINITY GAUNTLET later this week. I also am close to finishing the book “KOKORO” by NATSUME SOSEKI. Its beautiful. VERY slow at the start but builds up to a very good pace of story. Truly, the godfather of Japanese literature.
I love that Infinity Gauntlet Manga too.

My Anime Pick of the week, although, I finished the series weeks ago, is “EDEN OF THE EAST”
An interesting new story, from director of GiTS: Stand Alone Complex, comes a fresh new anime.
Also, if anyone is looking for further anime recommendations and HASN’T seen Satoshi Kon’s work yet, NOW is the time! I’d say start with Millennium Actress 🙂
Also, the new Iron man comic was good this week…

I guess my pick would be Invaders NOW! #1 for editor notes even though Alex Ross is co writing. It was a light week.
Runner up would be Punisher MAX: Hot Rods of Death for is grind house appeal, but at 5 dollars and no Marauder no dice.
I saw that Gage was writing that Invaders book but I didn’t care for the art. If we have any left at the shop next time I go to work I’ll try to read it.

J– Despite my aversion to all things Adam Warren now… I went ahead and picked up Empowered Vol 2-5 at Books A Million for 54% OFF. Finally found Volume 1 at a decent price… Apparently DH has let that slide into sold out at the distributor status too.
Ya, Vol 1 is out of print. I’ve been trying to reorder that thing for months for the store. It’s a fun series. I think you’ll like it.

Dude I can say as a fan of the original series that these movies are just as good and in some respects (such as the action) are better.
Yeah, I hear its as close to seeing EVA in Blu as we’ll ever get. And as an Elitist, I kind of need to see it in Blu ray. I did like the idea as well of seeing it in different light but still in the same direction.
Fuck those new EVA movies. That is not EVA. Those things are bullshit. Cash grab is all they are. They are not even from the same creators.

yeah i remember you saying about that awhile ago about getting statues. i prefer the articulated figs more as i’m able to do displays and have different characters doing different things and helps if i ever want to think aloud for writing it’s very theriputic and relaxing

Jose Im just wondering why do you hate the Evangelion movies?
I don’t hate Death/Rebirth or End of Evangelion. I just thought they were completely unnecessary. The reason I strongly dislike the new movies is because they ADD characters and storylines that were never a part of the show. It changes the original story too much and therefore makes it not Evangelion anymore. To me it just reeks of milking the franchise for everything it’s worth for money. You know, a lot like how Marvel like to do.

I wasnt talking about End of Evangelion I was just talking about the remakes but I can see it from your perspective of why you dont like the new movies and I was a little irritated when they changed some of the plot in 1.11 as for End of Evangelion I thought it was an excellent end for the series. I didnt like the ending of the show initially but as soon as I wrapped my head around what was going on in the last two episodes I thought it was an okay ending. I did like the MP Evas in EOE. One more thing… Congratulations!!!
