    Diggin in them bargain bins

  3. Mr.Wrestling says:

Not done with everything yet, but I gotta say that I am just loving the spiderman/FF mini. Just a very enjoyable read with some genuinely funny moments

  4. generaldark says:

tie between joe the barbarian and amazing spiderman

  5. Deemar says:

T-bolts 148 so far my pick

  6. megamanx4ever says:

    really digged Batman Beyond 4.

  7. Spider-Man and the FF#3. I really loved this story since it reminded me of that wonderful Walt Simonson/Art Adams FF story. Plus the character moments were great and the art was GORGEOUS! Also I literally freaked out when I saw that there were numbered pages in the book. I love numbered pages.

  8. Bello says:

For me it was Joe the Barbarian 7. It took awhile for this issue to come but it was worth the wait. The art is great and Morrison is killing it. I need to pick up issue three of Spider-man and the Fantastic FOur the first 2 issues were great.

  9. TheMSpot says:

Toss up between Batman Beyond #4 and Joe the Barbarian #7.

  10. Deckel2 says:

    The Buletproof Coffin #4
I started picking up this book on a whim as it looked cool and colourful, and it is that and so much more..

I mean com’on there are zombies called the Ungrateful Dead and a guy with a giant eye for a head.

Pick it up when it comes out in trade people

  11. tomstewdevine says:

I’ve read lots of good books this week but(so far) Unwritten has been by far the best, such fun book, it was a pick your own story, so far I have read it 3 different ways.

  12. SPOILER – PUNISHER VS THE MARVEL UNIVERSE – Perfect timing for shooting the spider-man in the face! I cant believe the latest spider-man story is just as crappy as OMIT..END SPOILER –

    • Bello says:

I don’t about you guys but the final issue was pretty disapointing

      • tomstewdevine says:

I wouldn’t say disappointed, but overall I didn’t like how it had to be another Kingpin vs the Punisher stories. Yes there were some badass moments, but I just feel like Mayberry didn’t hit it our of the park on this one.

  13. Stamps says:

The Unwritten was my pick. Such a cool book.

    • tomstewdevine says:

No doubt, I hear a lot of people saying that they are dropping it because they can’t follow it. Which I think is crazy, I feel like this is the next “it book” at vertigo, like Y, Lucifer, Transmet, and Preacher.

  14. Sai011 says:

Only got batman beyond #4 I liked the twist on the end.

  15. MicahSkin says:

X-Factor 209. Longshot in Vegas. Possible Thor guest appearance coming up. And a well written and enjoyable Shatterstar. Who could ask for anything more.

  16. Mike F says:

    I didn’t buy anything.

But I am planning on finishing Vol 10

  17. Fallows1985 says:

My pick would have to be either Birds of Prey #5 or Zatanna #5

  18. kurumais says:

First let me say I tried to be impartial when I read my stack this week and pick my favorite of the week. But my cap fanboyness might have gotten the better of me.
So my pick of the week is Captain America Patriot! It was the first book I read from my pile and it was by far my favorite . for those who don’t know this is based on the What if the Invaders had fought passed WWII issue. Marvel decided after that issue came out that it made so much sense they made it continuity.
So this miniseries tells the story of how jeff mace becomes the patriot and then takes up the mantle of his hero and becomes the 3rd captain America . karl kessel does a great job, jeff mace never seems to be Steve Rodgers 2 even though many see the patriot as the cap clone he is. You like this guy but kessel also show you his flaws and limitations which I appreciated . Also while this retells the patriot’s story and that of the what if, it never reprints scenes I have seen before, this is a brand new retelling of those events. And a very good one at that, it moves along nicely showing everything you should know about jeff mace and his patriot alter ego . his origin, his solo career, his time with the liberty legion. and the event that calls on him to become captian America . no decompression but never feels rushed .
I loved the art by mitch and bettie breitweiser it looked like 40s but not hooky at all. Mitch’s style makes it look like his characters are wearing costumes rather than body paint but has a very different look then alex ross. He even made miss patriot look good.

I think this is the type of comic I think many people are asking to see more of

    • tomstewdevine says:

Wow, I just looked over this title for no apparent reason, I like Cap but just thought it was another filler book by marvel. I guess I will have to give it a read.

      • TheMSpot says:

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Kurumais has me sold.

        • kurumais says:

you know what i liked about this book … its jeff mace’s story it doesnt feel like a replacement hero story that we have seen many times before
ive been looking for reviews online and i only found 2 but both were very positive one gave it 5/5 the other 4/5
i hope i didnt steer you guys wrong you enjoy it as much as i did

  19. kurumais says:

im a little surprised so few folks post in this thread. we seem to line up around the block to list what we are buying week in and week out, but it seems many of us are loath to share what our weekly favorites are. i cant figure out why we already know what each other are buying.

    any thoughts?

    • tomstewdevine says:

Very odd. This is probably my favorite thread of the week, I love Comics, and I love talking about them. Hopefully this thread will get more attention in the future.

      • Pobra says:

i enjoy these threads too, i was just really busy last week and didn’t get a chance to post and to be honest with you i don’t remember what i got last week, so i still can’t 🙂
as for why people don’t care to share their thoughts about their books, your guess is as good as mine. discussing comics is what brought us all here in the first place.

  20. Deemar says:

    Deader than dead
