Ah, the open thread is back!!!

    Thank God.

  4. TheRichestManinTown says:

I bought a bunch of trade paperbacks from my local failure of a comic shop now that it’s having a going out of business sale. One of them was Vinyl Underground. I can’t read that thing in public. It’s nothing but gratuitous tits and no real story or awesome ideas to speak of. It’s a bunch of Guy Richie movie rejects with random porn thrown in. What’s even more embarrassing was that I was reading it in public and my Women’s Studies professor caught a glimpse of that awful phone book picture which follows two characters having cyber sex. What the fuck? How could David Lapham endorse this bullshit?

  5. So any word on when Jose is going to be back?

    • Insideman says:

I haven’t heard yet CBD. But not to worry.

      • I know Jose is ok, just wondering when he’s going to come back.

        • Venom829 says:

I wa starting to get scared a couple days ago. Then Insidemn posted about why he posted the who’s getting what this week on his blog, and I was relieved after to know he is ok. WERE ALL HERE FOR YOU JOSE!!!

        • Insideman says:

I know you know Jose is OK, CBD– because I posted it and told you I conversed with him.

That was only TWO DAYS ago. We all miss him… So just relax a little, OK? πŸ™‚

(And I am NOT jumping on you. Just want you to chill a little. Jose knows we all care.)

          • Mike F says:

“I know you know Jose is OK, CBD– because I posted it and told you I conversed with him. ”

lol all he did was ask a question, are u trying to act like your better because you spoke with Jose? Don’t be so cocky bro…

unless your statement was entirely sarcastic, then I take back everything I said, but if your being real, then you should get off that high horse (no offense)

            • I think you preaching to Insideman about him being on his “high horse” while you sound completely condescending from your ivory tower is fucking laughable. (no offense)

              J.

            • Mike F says:

Why am I being attacked now? All CBD said was “any word on when Jose is going to be back?” Its not like I personally attacked him, I just think it was ridiculous to bring up the fact that he ‘spoke with’ you days again and all since we know, we were all concerned about you Jose and were relieved to find out someone contacted you, but it seemed strange for him to remind us that he did but whatever, I guess I can’t defend anyone here… Even tho I had no bad intentions. Nothing new to me, being attacked for really nothing.

              • “Don’t be so cocky bro…”

“if your being real, then you should get off that high horse”

If you are going to play the victim you can not also play the aggressor.

                J.

                • Mike F says:

Well I apologize for being so rude. I guess I didn’t have to get into it like that. Maybe I was just jealous or something, IDK. But I am sorry. I promise to watch my words better in the future. I do have the habit of pissing people off easily, and I don’t wanna do that to people in the blog, since I enjoy this blog and I’m glad your back Jose. We all are. I’m just sorry my stupidity was the reason you came back. I shouldn’t have said that to INSIDEMAN, and I hope he understands that I didn’t mean anything personal by it…

                  • Insideman says:

                    WTF Mike?

Note the SMILEY FACE in my post to CBD and the next sentence stating I wasn’t jumping on him? Did you see that before you decided to come on here and jump down my throat?

I was simply attempting to get CBD to relax a little… As he is obviously focusing on Jose’s return. I tried to be as helpful as possible and it is frankly CRAZY to me that you would think otherwise.

You wrote, “…get off that high horse”… Because I was trying to be helpful?

You wrote “Don’t be so cocky bro…” because I was trying to be helpful and just happened to be the one who had some interaction with Jose?

I was NOT acting like I was SPECIAL– I was attempting to HELP a fellow board member.

I would think that by now every regular here knows CBD likes Jose and this blog A LOT. Jose even drove over to work on his DAY OFF just to meet CBD. So I know why CBD is worried– which is why I wrote that it had only been 2 days since I first let everyone know that Jose was OK (with JOSE’S PERMISSION, I might add).

I don’t know where you’re coming from. I’ve NEVER done ANYTHING to you or ANYBODY on this board except try to be helpful.

You should remember that before you start FALSELY ACCUSING PEOPLE.

I am also NOT going to get into a long discussion with you. I’ve seen your apology and I’ll accept it– as long as you lighten up for fuck’s sake.

                    • Mike F says:

Man, I said it wasn’t personal, and I apologized, and for clarity (even tho at this point it doesn’t matter) I wasn’t saying it with a frown in my brow, I was slightly laughing about it, the way two friends might, I didn’t say “Man, Shut the fuck up” or anything extreme.

I even said earlier that I don’t want INSIDEMAN to be upset with me, because, as I also mentioned I had no serious intentions, it was the same you spoke, I just left out Smileys. Really. I said NOTHING extreme, and I even felt bad after I realized everyone took it wrong. Why would you start getting all angry now after you see I am sorry? Fucking Christ, can I not make a mistake? Can I not apologize and still get yelled at from people?

“FALSELY ACCUSING PEOPLE.” NOT At all!

I just admitted that it wasn’t meant to be me being all Bully-ish. You know me, we’re friends. I wouldn’t just be rude to you out of nowhere… Like most times the internet has failed to show my expression in the sentence, but it was not at all that rude, but I can see why it seems rude. I’m SORRY! How many times must I say it? Do I have to go the rest of the weekend feeling like fucking shit because of the stupid fucking mistakes I always fucking make? Would you guys all just feel better if I left? I guess I am just pissing everyone off…

Sorry for not being perfect and getting slightly jealous you talked with Jose and being a dick, cause I was a dick and I guess dicks don’t belong here.

I am sorry I just completely ruined this blog for you guys. I truly am. I completely understand why the things I’ve said would offend you guys, and I promise I won’t bother You anymore… I am truly deeply sorry to INSIDEMAN and JOSE and anyone else I might of offended. I truly am.

                    • Mike F says:

Your right INSIDEMAN, you HAVEN’T done anything wrong to ANYONE here. You are right. I am just like this all the time. But I guess I haven’t learned. And once again I am sorry.

                    • Insideman says:

How about EXPLAINING what you meant Smokey? Some of us are slow.

                    • Yes Smokey, please fill me in on what the fuck you meant. Because to me you are not only making a blatant misogynistic joke (which you fucking sure as hell know I DO NOT approve of) but you are also insulting NO LESS THAN 3 people on this blog. If that’s the case, fuck you.

And Elliot, the fact that you find this humorous means you can go fuck yourself too.

If I do decide to start posting again on here I can tell you that you will not be welcome on here anymore.

                    • Sorry, but I don’t think jokes about menstrual cycles are ‘misogynistic.’ I work in an office full of women and they make that joke all the time BECAUSE IT’S TRUE!

I thought it was a funny joke, didn’t see it as a tremendous slight at anyone else, and commented as such.

So to Mr. Melendez who decides to call me out on the blog, check yourself before you wreck yourself dude.

  6. TheMSpot says:

    Finally a open thread.

    How about Heros for Hire?

How about that All-Star Superman: The Animated Movie trailer?

    • Wasn’t there going to be a Superman: Red Son animated movie? I would like that. Sinestro Corps War would also make a nice animated movie as well.

      • megamanx4ever says:

Is Superman Red Son pretty good? because I hear that everyone says it is one of the best Superman storys along with All-Star Superman.

        • Red Son is by far my favorite Superman story and favorite Mark Millar comic book. Definitely something people need to read.

          • megamanx4ever says:

Cool im definitley gonna get the hardcover then.

            • agent42q says:

That’s one of the best, I’d also recommend Superman: Secret Identity as it really plays on a bunch of Superman Mythos. Also in the same vein the first Mr.Majestic trade (as scripted by the amazing Joe Kelly) has some of the most super stories involving a Super-Man anagram. Including a story with what do you do with an unidentifiable, unbeatable enemy?

      • Stamps says:

I remember hearing something about that myself. No idea what’s the current status though. hmmm

      • Insideman says:

Unfortunately, I think the ALL STAR SUPERMAN movie looks like complete shit.

In fact, I think I wrote exactly that: http://wp.me/pZr1Y-1hd πŸ™‚

I hate the art style (because the art in the book was SO wonderful) but did like one of the voice actors heard on the trailer.

I also came up with a better way to spend your money than buying that DVD or Blu Ray.

And yes, anybody that HASN’T read Superman: Red Son should do so quickly. Anybody who thinks, “How could Mark Millar write such a good book?”– Remember, Grant Morrison intimates all the time that he– GRANT– basically shepherded the book to completion.

I guess that’s why there’s no babies being chucked out of windows are threats or cases of ass rape in the book. πŸ˜‰

      • kurumais says:

id like to see the great darkness saga as an OVA
        nightwing’s first storyline in bludhaven
        flash out of time
        jla year one
        teen titans year one
        batgirl year one

    • Venom829 says:

One word= EPIC!!!!! So going to see it. I am a big Grant Morrison fan, so it will be better than the Superman/Batman animated flicks. And DC has made an animated film on Batman: Year One!

    • Heck says:

I’m not feeling the All-Star Superman trailer. BUT, hey, it’s better to have a Superman flick than NO Superman flick..so I’m down.

  7. TheMSpot says:

been watching a lot of tv lately, which is unusual for me.
best show i’ve watched recently, boardwalk empire… very engaging, good stuff.
worst show, big bang theory… someone told me i would like it, they clearly do not know me very well. i think it was because one of the characters was wearing a green lantern shirt on an episode. this show is BAD.

    • kurumais says:

i went through same thing with the big bang theory everyone and thier mother was telling me i would like i couldnt even make it through a whole episode
been watching a lot of tv myself this week
hawaii five o the event undercovers im watching fringe now

    • Venom829 says:

I never have cared for that show. I have recently gotten inot the office, I love that show, it is really good and funny.

the last nightwing story before he became bats
i saw a couple of others in the last week i cant recall im not sure how long dirigbles were in use but they seem have huge lasting effect on writers of stuff we like

Matt Fractions first issue of Thor was awesome I picked it up because I had to spend more than $5 since I used my credit card I’m really glad I picked it up.

    • Pobra says:

yeah i liked it too and i REALLY don’t care for Thor. But i guess he wasn’t in the issue a whole lot, so we’ll see. But i’m definitely willing to give Fraction’s Thor a chance after reading this. 5/5

      • kurumais says:

the art by pasqual ferris was a feast for the eyes not a guy i would have thought of myself with thor but im glad they hired him
        loved the alfelm sequences

i got to say i got chocked up again when thor was talking about his brother first pak and van lente got me with it in prince of power now fraction does it to me again im turning into a big softy
thor has been good for a while now this more then continues that streak
it definitely moved to my pull list

    • Insideman says:

I didn’t buy the Marvel ones but I must also confess I own one of Faith the Vampire Slayer from Buffy.

      • kurumais says:

nice inside i try to keep my tchothke purchases cap related otherwise they will get out of control i believe

but we cant be the only ones around here every shop is selling them somebody has to be buying them

        • Insideman says:

Kurumais, the shop Jose works at– also at http://www.dreamlandcomics.com — has carried EVERY ONE of them that I have seen… Including the DC figures. They are really cool.

But you’re right. You have to limit the amount of stuff you get or there will be NO limit.

          • kurumais says:

im going to new york comic con in a couple of weeks i must build up my will power otherwise ill come home loaded with cap statues and stuff

How is FF583 in the “NO” column? That issue was fucking epic! And yet he praises Nemesis…

    • tomstewdevine says:

FF was great, Nemesis so over the top it’s ridiculous **********Nemesis Spoiler******** next comment.

      • tomstewdevine says:

So the commissioner Gordon like guy gets his kids stolen, when he gets them back, his gay son has impregnated his daughter! WTF millar, get it together and do something with a little thought.

        • Mike F says:

Wait, is that what really happened? That may be the absolute WORST comic plot I think I ever heard. I don’t even know what to say. That’s LEGIT awful.

          Fucking wow Mark…

        • Pobra says:

wow, millar you genius! you somehow find a way to be more offensive with every new book you write! that is some kind of talent you have sir… bravo. fucking twat.

        • *bangs head on table several times in attempt to unread what I just read*

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME, MARK MILLAR?!?!?!?!?!? A “gay” son impregnates his sister? That’s it. I’ve lost all faith in Millar. He’s done.

I want Millar out of the comic industry. I don’t give a rip about the previous good stories he’s written because right now he’s writing shit and I don’t want to see him continue to rape (We’re talking about Millar here. There’s gotta be a rape reference right?) the industry I have loved for YEARS.

GTFO of the comic industry Millar and come back when you’ve at least come up with something half-thought out. Please?

  25. Mike F says:

    CCW Citizens, I need help.

I hear that the new HULK comic is great. But I have no clue where to start with the Hulk series… I’ve only had one HULK comic my whole life (FUTURE IMPERFECT!) and I don’t know much about this Rulk? (Is he Hulk’s son? Rulk? Red-Hulk?)

Is it worth picking up if I don’t know the story so far? Should I go back to PLANET HULK and WORLD WAR HULK first?

    • Have not read Planet Hulk, but I’ve heard it’s good. I have read World War Hulk and I thought it was a nice “Marvel Universe vs. The Hulk” type book. The only really bad thing was the ending. The Romita, Jr. art really helped with the impact of destruction that was going on in that story. However you may want to read Planet Hulk before WWH because you’ll probably understand WWH better.

  26. Insideman says:

This is tricky Mike. Some may laugh but I really enjoyed PLANET HULK and the mostly enjoyed World War Hulk. I write “mostly” on the latter title because I buy all the tie-in trades and hardcovers and there was a lot of extra unneeded shit in that series.

I would buy both the Planet Hulk and World War Hulk books– and keep the extraneous stuff to a minimum. You would do alright by yourself if you also get the Hercules titles that coincide with these 2 big story lines. I remember distinctly enjoying those books.

Now here’s where it gets tricky.

Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness take over after these BIG EVENTS and the Hulk book SUCKS, SUCKS, SUCKS. The first ten or so issues of Hulk under Loeb have him doing nothing but fighting, fighting, fighting. I can’t believe it sold SO well. Ed’s art is fine (I was okay with it but there a ridiculous number of story lengthening splash pages). Again, Loeb’s story was so bad– I can barely describe it.

Hopefully someone else can help you cherry pick through those issues… So you can get a feel for what you need before reading issue #25. I’m way behind the current, current Hulk stuff at Marvel… So someone else will have to join in.

    Hope that helps.

To make a long reply shorter: I KNOW PLANET HULK and WORLD WAR HULK were good– if not GREAT– books!

    • kurumais says:

i can vouch for the pak and van lente hercules series its absolutely terrific
i would post more but i really cant say enough good things about the book
what so many have been saying comics have be more like this or get back to that well this series is already there and has been the whole time

  27. TheMSpot says:

Not sure How I feel about this… I don’t hate Neil, but he is kind of “over-da-top” w/ his fantasy genre…

  31. Have any of you guys read Red by Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner? I bought all three issues today and am on #3. It’s a page turner I’ll tell you that. The art is gorgeous.

    • Mike F says:

Ellis is a good writer. And about above, Gaiman, yeah he’s too in-to fantasy I think. To the point of not being able to play along. “CAPED CRUSADER” was his best work. That fit well.

      • I will give him credit for “CAPED CRUSADER”. I did like that. Andy Kubert’s art helped a lot too. My Dad actually has a hardcover copy of that Eternals series he did with John Romita, Jr. that he got for free. I’ve been meaning to read that.

I REALLY wanna check out RED. NOWS THE TIME TOO! Since wildstorm is finished, and it might go out of print 😐

          • Yeah, I recommend it. It’s a very quick read, but it’s fun and is filled with great artwork.

btw is Grant Morrison’s JLA:Classified that he did with Ed McGuinness any good?

            • Mike F says:

I never ventured into that. I love Grant more than any writer, and I do like Justice League, I just never read his work with it… I prolly should!

      • tomstewdevine says:

I liked the Caped Crusader a lot, the Eternals book is good but nothing special. Sandman on the other hand, now that was something special.

  32. Mike F says:

    Great month for Marvel

    Scarlet *Bendis does GOOD?*
Thor *Fraction’s Breath of Fresh air*
    FF *HICKMAN!*
    And incognito returning

Marvel is coming back with great titles man… finally.

    • Venom829 says:

I think they also need to remove Bendis from Avengers, and have him do solo characters that are not well known of that need a little more exposure. Fraction, can’t wait to read Thor, and for him to leave UXM, Brubaker, the best of all those writers in my opinion right now.

  34. wow only 1 comic out next week for me the week after’s probabely going to be 10 different books

  35. Jeremy says:

You know who could save the Superboy-Prime character? Kurt Busiek.

  36. what’s the opinion of nick spencer and RB. silvia co-feature in action comics 893 starring jimmy olsen and introducing chloe sullivan.

i think this’ll be interesting as it’ll be a ground view of someone living in a city where superheroes and supervillians are throwing cars at each other while you sit and have your morning coffee.

he’s not going to be morphing into a giant turtle any time soon but there will be drunken alein invasion’s,parralel reality speed dating and the return of the daily planet’s flying newsroom

so sounds good what’s the ccw nation opinion?

  37. tomstewdevine says:

    MEAT!

  38. kurumais says:

this is really fun and very very wrong

  39. megamanx4ever says:

Just finished reading issues 1-10 of Miracleman by Alan Moore and I loved it. πŸ™‚

I just hope Marvel doesent fuck over Miracleman by making him the new Sentry. 😦

    • ed2962 says:

What are some of the aspects of the book you liked, Mega?

      • megamanx4ever says:

I loved the art (with the exception of Chuck Austen) I also like how Moore made Kid Miracleman a Psychopath and I like how he shows Johnny Bates as a kid getting tormented by his Kid Miracleman alter ego, and i felt bad for him. I also liked Mick Moran and his wife Liz and I really felt like I really cared for them. Another thing I liked was Dr. Emil Gargunza who I thought was a great villain for the 3 or 4 issues he was in and I dont think I have seen too many Villains were I both Hated them and felt Sorry for them like Gargunza.

I can say plenty more but, I think everyone should check out this series because I thought it was excellent and just another great superhero story by Alan Moore.

Now, I am worried since Marvel has the rights to Miracleman, that they might revive him as the new Sentry, and I heard that when Siege was going on that there was a rumor, that when they kill off the Sentry, that he would be revived as Miracleman, which thankfully was proven false, but I am still worried that the Sentry will be revived in the future as Miracleman.

        • ed2962 says:

Yes.I like that they confronted some of the sillier aspect of of then superhero lore and that he had to deal with his wife and their emotional issues caused by him being this super-being. People die during the super fight and it’s presented as this horrible occurrence. Also the social/political aspects of “saving” the world (destroying money, etc).

        • ed2962 says:

By the way, I share the Sentry might be Miracle Man fear. It was be so EZ and so typical to do.

    • prying eyes says:

i have been collecting the moore/gaimen run for a while now. it gets fucking expensive later on. awesome stuff!

  40. philbyday says:

I guess it must have been the Tron reference 😦

  41. Have any of you guys read Bleach? I just started to read volume 3 and I have up to volume 6. I’m REALLY enjoying it. It’s quickly become one of my favorite mangas.

  42. Heck says:

  43. Mike F says:

    As of tonight I’ve accomplished:

-Playing INDIGO PROPHECY (not done but pretty good so far)
-GANTZ Vol 10 (FINALLY I got to, then on to 11 and hopefully 12 tomorrow or Monday)
-Trying to think of some new songs…

what about u guys? CCW citizens having a good weekend thus far?

    • As of tonight I’ve accomplished:

      – Watching Ghostbusters
      – An issue of Deadpool I’ve had since early March
      – A couple issues of Amazing Spider-Man
      – Staying up later than I usually do
      – Nothing else sadly

My weekend has been ok. Kinda boring honestly. How ’bout you Mike?

      • You should be writing dude. A writer is never bored because they should ALWAYS BE WRITING!

That’s if you wanna go pro my friend. Just a little piece of advice. πŸ˜‰

        Elliott

        • Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know πŸ˜‰ My Grandma just had a gallbladder removal surgery on Friday and I had to visit her yesterday and it was quite hard to concentrate on almost anything. But, I will take your advice to heart! I have had a lot of ideas floating around in my head…

        • Venom829 says:

Hey Elliot, I want your opinion as a writer. I’m doing a bunch of my own fan-made Batman stories. The first one I did was the origin, so it’s nothing special, but after that, I want your advice on my next story whenever that is. Please? Thanks!

    • Pobra says:

I FINALLY got around to seeing Inception last night… fuck, what a great and ORIGINAL movie. Levitt totally should have played Peter Parker in the spidey flicks.

      • I know, right?! I watched just a MINITE AND A HALF of 500 Days of Summer and I thought Levitt would make a great Peter Parker. Inception is easily my favorite new movie I’ve seen this year.

        • Pobra says:

yeah, finally a film that lives up to the hype!
the fight scene in the hallway with the wacky gravity really made me picture him as a great spider-man. plus he has the humor and charm to pull off spidey way better than Tobey ever did imo.

  44. SmokeyClocks says:

has anyone else seen this, fan made but very good. Maybe frank will find this and use it

  45. kurumais says:

interesting appearance by the birds of prey on the brave and the bold

  46. Venom829 says:

I put a new post up, and this time, it’s all about funny t.v.:

    http://comicszone.wordpress.com/2010/09/26/good-sitcoms-open-thread/

  47. Okay I’m going to work on my Batman of the Future story now. If anyone is interested in reading the script when it’s done let me know!

  48. ed2962 says:

I saw this article and thought it was interesting as well as some of the poster’s replies.
    http://www.bleedingcool.com/2010/09/25/no-more-mutants-by-andrew-wheeler-3-the-secret-asians/

I swear to god all this time I didn’t know that Conner Hawk was part asian, which I guess is part of the point of the article.

    • kurumais says:

well he asks name asian characters that dont know martial arts
Amadeus Cho and i dont think jimmy choo does
now name the non powered non asian super heroes that DONT know martial arts?
but the point is well taken you would think with all the asians in the comic industry they would have a higher profile

the only folks that do worse are latinos

      • kurumais says:

sorry i meant jimmy woo tony chu does he know any martial arts?

      • ed2962 says:

Yeah, it’s not like I think Jim Lee is obligated to kick in DC management door and say “I want a female Dr Light meets Shang Chi on-going and them to be in a movie or I’m walking, dammit!” But it’s curious considering the ethnic make up of modern America why there aren’t more prominent asian heroes. Sure we (comic book fans) can name some, but who does the average person on the street know? Maybe only movie action stars.

And on that note I remember seeing a show about asians in Hollywood a couple years ago. They had Bobby Lee (from Mad TV) on and he said because of Bruce Lee when Bobby was growing up other kids constantly said “You know Kung Fu?” and he’d be like “NO!”

      • prying eyes says:

name a marvel superhero of any race or gender who doesnt use Martial arts all together! it always annoyed me every single person is a fucking ninja master. even cap, ironman, antman, taskmaster lukecage, DD, ironfist, punisher. only few i can think of who are not trained in fighting is spiderman and maybe hulk.

    • Deemar says:

Never thought of that, Asians do get the short end of the superhero stick.

      • ed2962 says:

Sure, Shang-Chi had an on-going back in the day but that falls in the martial arts thing. And I think Jimmy Woo had a series in the 50’s where he fought Fu Manchu (yikes!). But off the top of my head I’m not sure I can think of another asian that starring in an on-going.
I wonder how much of that has to do with formula and commercial expectations? Going back to Jim Lee and please understand I’m NOT criticizing him but there’s no asians in Wildcats and the star of Divine Right was a middle class white guy.

A friend of mine wrote an action movie script with a diverse cast of characters. There was white, blacks, and hispanics as heroes. The main character was black. Someone with industry connections told him it would be easier to sell the story if the protagonist was white. He changed the race of the hero. I’m not mad at him, I’m just saying…

        • ed2962 says:

That’s Yellow Claw not Fu Manchu, sorry! Yellow Claw was originally a Fu Manchu rip-off.

        • Deemar says:

It’s all about the marketing and that usually means minority actors are ancillary.

          Sad but true.

Will Smith is the exception not the rule.

        • kurumais says:

batgirl cassandra cain had 2 ongoings
my favorite green arrow connor hawk had the title for a long time
          the atom ryan choi
          tony chu of course
amadeus cho just had a great mini

          slim pickings indeed
          can anyone think of others?

      • Venom829 says:

No pun intended right D?! Short Stick? Maybe it;s just me? I have a corrupted mind, lol πŸ˜€

  49. TheMSpot says:

I would of read Deadpool Team-Up #889 if I knew Jeff Parker was writing.

Parker writing Gorilla-Man is always winner in my book.

  50. kurumais says:

so with all the tv shows premiering any ones you liked?

  51. kurumais says:

The mighty crusaders is ok in an old school team book kind of way
I picked up the first 3 issues and it feels like an 80s team book to me lots and lots of action driving the book. the art is nothing special but lookable. The writing is decent. 3rd issue has been the best so far that’s a very good sign. If I was back in highschool I think I would like this book a lot.
Im not saying it the authority not even close but batman and outsiders , the defenders, the all star squad yeah. any of those c team books you would read just for a change of pace from the big guns

Has anyone else checked them out?

  52. Constantanius says:

I know Jose is going to like this news.

    http://dcu.blog.dccomics.com/2010/09/20/ardian-syaf-joins-the-birds-of-prey/

Starting in December, the Birds of Prey will get a new member – to their creative team, that is.

Hot off a stint on GREEN LANTERN CORPS and BRIGHTEST DAY, Ardian Syaf steps in as the regular artist on the series, joining forces with regular writer Gail Simone. And Syaf is stepping in just in time, as the series continues to kick things into high gear, with a new arc starting in December titled β€œThe Death of Oracle.”

BIRDS OF PREY Editor Janelle Siegel was kind enough to show off a few pages of Ardian’s art, and it seems she’s as excited as we are about the new addition:

β€œI’ve been a fan of Ardian’s work for quite some time, so I jumped at the chance to have him on Birds of Prey. He’s a great fit for the book because he is an immensely talented artist with a gift for storytelling and action and he’s also great at drawing beautiful women! We couldn’t ask for a better combination than that for the kind of stories we’re telling in Birds of Prey right now.”

    • kurumais says:

well birds needed a solid penciller that could meet deadlines and i liked his stuff the phantom stranger one shot so he is ok with me

  53. TheMSpot says:

Former Marvel Editor-in-Cheif Bob Harras named new DC Comics Editor-in-Cheif.

    • I don’t think this will do anything to change the shit content of DC’s comics. As long as Didio and Johns are in charge everything will stay as is.

      J.

      • Locusmortis says:

Its not going to improve things anyway. Rebels, Doom Patrol and Paul Levitz’s books are the only things I’m enjoying from DC. Its hard to believe that DC could screw up so badly but they have, 2009 was a real good year from them but is it a coincidence that everything went to shit since Paul Levitz was forced out and Didio and Johns have taken over.

  54. kurumais says:

youtube has the first episode of The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margret up
    i recommended it
