NYCC is one week away. I hope I run into Robert Kirkman.

  2. Hey guys! My Grandma died today so because of that I may be busy and I’ll be in and out of here and I’ll pop in when I can. Also, it’s homecoming weekend so that will consume most of tomorrow. I won’t be going to the dance though. Seriously my school’s dances are kind of lame.

    Things I’ve finished reading:

    -Bleach Volume 4
    -Gotham City Sirens#1

That’s about it. It looks like I’m going to have to put Torso on hold because that is a depressing story. Good thing I have two more unread volumes of Bleach and JLA/JSA: Virtue and Vice to read ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Insideman says:

    What a NOOB I am.
    I got me a HD-Television 2 months back.
I thought it would look cool especially with my xbox360.
So happy that I was with the improved graphics….
I found out today(2 months later) that there is a switch on the connection cable saying TV -> HDTV..
Yeah I had to use another switch.
So finally I can enjoy HIGH DEFINITION.
    And Damn..Its AWESOME.
A New World Will unfolds with HD ๐Ÿ™‚

    Random Rantsโ„ข!

The END of The Walking Dead? How Many BATMAN Books Will You Buy? + More BRILLIANT Stuff!

Slow weekend all around. Read some comics!

    • kurumais says:

i think they read em inside but for some reason very shy about talking about comics here
btw did you ever read luna park by kevin baker from vertigo?

  10. kurumais says:

for some reason i found myself on the dc comics teen titans message board reading about the latest issue you think there are some angry bitter comic fans around here you folks ain’t seen nothin yet wow pissed is an understatement but some are very funny and i dont even know whats going with the book to follow all the jokes but entertaining none the less

  11. kurumais says:

random thoughts on the new tv season so far

Castle still fun I smile through most of the show and its about murder

Undercovers looks great but the sum of the parts are greater then the whole not as much fun as it should be but ill give it another episode or 2

The event not very eventful to me ill give it another week or two

No ordinary family was fun kind of greatest American hero meets the incredibles meets heroes I confess my interest in this show is due in small part because of Julie benz who ive had a crush on since season 2 of angel but the pilot was fun with a couple of surprises
Weโ€™ll see how it goes I think a must check out for comic fans

Detriot 187 after 2 episodes im hooked

Blue bloods very good cast scripts need a bit of work 2nd episode was better then the pilot which is a good sign

Fringe still very good stays on my watch list

Glee lots of ryan Murphy over the top fun

Hawaii 5 0 not bad but watching I thought what I think of most cbs shows paper thin and thimble deep scott caanโ€™s dano was fun and grace park still sexy as all get out

  12. kurumais says:

    More random thoughts on tv

I dropped chucked last season not sure so lots has happened
But lots of fun and sexy including Olivia munn in a nerd herd outfit I like gals in nerd herd outfits
Chuck has a job interview with VANDALAY industries how meta tv is that lol
Harry dean staton playing a repo man again lol
Dolph lundgren as a Russian bad guy
And its got adam Baldwin being funny
This is really fun comic culture tv show
It has so much comic culture tid fbits through out its one of those triumph of the nerd shows that makes me think 60 to 85% of the writers in Hollywood these days are fangirls and boys

  13. Locusmortis says:

    Have people seen this shit?

Just when you think that Millar couldn’t get more shit, then you realise yeah he can.

    • Pobra says:

yeah i’d heard about that scene. I had no idea about the Obama thing though. Thank god that didn’t make it past editorial. jesus…

    • ed2962 says:

I was going to make a joke about how it’d be cool if “kirby” turned out to be Jack Kirby come to set MIllar/Nemesis straight, THEN I remembered Millar did a Kirby analogue during his Authority run. I know Millar MEANT it to be sympathetic but between the explicit content and the gross caricature Frank Quietly drew, maybe it’s best my bronze age heroes don’t confront Millar again.

      • Locusmortis says:

There is also a character called Morrow in this book, obviously an analogy to Gray Morrow. Millar should not be soiling the names of comics gods by including them in his shitty books.

    • I read this issue the day it came out. That scene completely sickened me to no end. I was going to say something about it in our last series of videos but decided against it. I do not to “advertise” this socially depraved fuck’s comics anymore. But if we don’t do it there are not too many others that will I guess. Catch 22.

      • Deemar says:

J you guys need to do a Mark Millar analysis episode.

Just really go indepth with his history as a promising talent to his depravity today.

Its worth the effort. He’s in the zeitgeist

    • you know who’d get on well with millar i’d be mel gibson there’s a match made in heaven if i ever seen one.

    • Mike F says:

I have a lot more respect that marvel did their job editing that one and DIDN’T let the Obama ending happen. But still, its an awful comic.

  14. you think that’s bad it gets worse FUCK YOU MILLAR!!! FUCK YOU ANALY NOW THAT’S A COMIC I’D BUY!!!!!

you know what i want to see a ending to a book where it’s a splash page with superman punching millar saying “you’re not playing nice mark” that’s a comic i’d buy

  15. Pobra says:

speaking of Millar, i recently picked up the $1.00 reprint of Wanted #1, why, i don’t know.
Is anyone else bothered by all of the overt racism that makes it’s way into Millar’s scripts? From what I’ve heard, even Kick-Ass (the comic) featured some racist overtones.
And now i’m hearing that he actually wrote a scene where America’s first black president was to be decapitated by a glorified sociopath dressed in ALL WHITE. Fuck.
I get that fanboys want ultra-violence and ‘shocking’ bullshit from millar, but you have to draw the line somewhere. And blatant racism is a good point to draw that line, i would think.
how are people still supporting this shit?

    • Deemar says:

Yeah that has always been in Millars works, but I will say he plays fair on that.

Who else would have made Sam Jackson Ult Nick Fury? I’m less offended when Millar touches on race in general, but yeah he totally does it on purpose.

      Black Goliath anyone?

      • kurumais says:

i agree samuel l jackson as nick fury was pure genius i love seeing him in the movies he brings a great energy to the character that hasnt been there for years
and wasp as an asian too he did that as well

        • Deemar says:

Yep! so I don’t think Millar is in any way racist, but he is a mutha fucka who likes too provoke people.

Really its getting old fast, shock value lasts but so long. Which is why I’m tired of him in general.

Yet I think he’d do wonders for DC

  16. kurumais says:

“Why would an African chieftain decide to be a school teacher in Harlem?”
-Don McGregor, from his introduction to the Marvel Masterworks

    • Deemar says:

Funny you should say that, one of my college professors a African Chieftain.

The question should be why would a leader of a nation, leave behind his country to teach in Harlem?

      • kurumais says:

thats exactly the question ive been asking myself D ever since BP man without fear was annouced. to me tchalla setting up shop in hell’s kitchen after the events of doomwar is kind of like captain america moving to say buenos aires to fight crime after 9-11. unless tchalla has been officially banished i am going to have trouble swallowing it. not that i am not going to try it out but t’challa is one of my all time favs

        • Deemar says:

Yeah it is a confusing move.

Just when Maberry was getting started.

I mean Doomwar was a serious game changer for BP! Just makes no damn sense.

        • tomstewdevine says:

Ya but he isn’t the black panther anymore his sister is, so it would give him the chance to do something else and still keep ties to Wakonda.

You know I really do keep ties to Wakonda, that’s where my dad was born. It’s a little bit different Wakonda, but still feel it counts for something.

  17. Insideman says:

    Checking on my changes. ๐Ÿ™‚

  18. Insideman says:

Thanks everybody! I actually tweeked it in photoshop just to make the lighting a little malevolent. ๐Ÿ™‚

  19. Looks like there will be a Live CCW podcast tonight.

  20. ed2962 says:

E+J! I thought the Podcast was great. I especially liked the bit about comic prices. I always like it when you guys dismantle the economics of comics. Looking forward to that last rants!

    • Mike F says:

Damn! After reading that Preview, I am a BIT just a bit interested in that issue. It seemed kinda fun. But IDK, I truly hate Wolvie. I think he’s so boring really..
