One of the Most Boring Comics of the Month Tops the July Chart

I Love Boring Comics Says Cap America

Let’s break down the Top 10 shall we? Writer Ed Brubaker has 2 issues in there. One of them drawn by Gene Colan. Nice. You have 3 Geoff Johns penned books that were actually pretty good with some great art by Doug Mahnke and Ivan Reis. That’s all good. Batman and Robin is still in the Top 3 thanks to Morrison and Quitley. Cool, cool. Spidey #600 by Slott and Romita Jr. at a well deserved 4th spot. Could have been higher but bodacious none the less. Matt Fraction’s Dark Avengers at #7 is a pleasant surprise. Could have been worse. And Jeph Loeb has not one BUT 2 comics in there as well. What. The. Fuck. Hulk #600 and Ultimatum #5 (in case you didn’t read my reviews) were the worst comics of July and in contention for worst comics of the year. Fanboys never to cease to amaze me at the complete and utter shit that they will buy and, worse yet, enjoy.

Thanks to the Bat-Family books and Blackest Night DC is starting to mix it up a bit in the Top 25 which is good to see. Tough, Detective Comics deserves be in the Top 10 at the very least. The fact that the comic is not in there is a slap to the face of the industry. Fanboys should be ashamed of themselves. Well, more so than usual.

  2. Chris says:

Detective Comics slipped about 10 places from its first month which is pretty bad. I’m surprised that Amazing Spider-Man 600 wasn’t number one. It was actually an Amazing book…

  3. Antonio says:

got 10 of the top 25 this month but only paid for 9. My LCS game me tales of the corps #1 for free.

  4. Pobra says:

I would’ve liked to see ASM #600 in the top spot. Detective was shamefully low, especially considering that there were two Jeph Loeb books in the top 10 . That’s kind of fucking depressing. Actually, i take that back, that is REALLY fucking depressing.

  5. thetum says:

Whats Agents of Atlas ranked? oh and Nova.

  6. generaldark says:

  7. Saar says:

Can’t belive it, no Iron man, no secret warriors, no Invicible for god sake!
And of course That the stupid and childish will put two of the worst shit ever made (by the fabulous Jeph Loeb) in the top 10!!!! GOD what wrong with you people?!

P.S- I’m not even belive in god and I just don’t know how else to call/ask for answers for this idiotic act of the US’s comic book readers!

  8. Saar says:

I picked out 12 books from this list and read 4 more, most of them doesn’t belong in the top 25.

I did a post on my blog like this as well. The #1 selling in my opinion should’ve been ASM#600 or Blackest Night#1.

  10. generaldark says:

i like how new avengers has dropped out of the top 10

  11. TheComicRant says:

    Jeph Loeb is a telepath.

He is secretly controlling people’s minds and forcing them to read his shit and thus consider suicide. He must be stopped!!
