I seriously listen to this podcast almost every night before I go to bed. I fucking love it. I’ve probably listened to every episode about 4 times now. Never gets old.
Ive been listening to the ricky gevais podcast pretty much non stop since yesterday and ive come to the inescapable conclusion that most fascinating human on the face of this earth is Karl Pilkington
how did gervais hook up with him ? did he start doing radio and luck out with the amazingly odd radio producer that just happens to be an inexhaustible comedy goldmine? because that would be amazing
btw i have been listening to 70’s glam rockers mott the hoople a lot this past week one of my older brothers was a big fan he used to play them all the time its fun to rediscover bands
I love rediscovering music. I use to listen to Bowie a lot years ago so when I heard this song for the first time in years, it felt good to know I could recall all the lyrics 🙂
I love that Bowie song.I didn’t know this until recently, but way the song came about is that Bowie passed on a chance to do a translation of an old french song called “Comme d’habitude”.Paul Anka bought the rights to the french song and completely re-wrote it and that became “My Way”.Bowie then wrote “Life on Mars” as kind of a response. If you listen closely the chord changes are kinda similar.
He un-friended me on facebook and took down the link he had to here from his blog. Seems quite childish to me…but then again so is me telling you about it.
In fact I got it worse, I’m a black geek do you know how much of a rarity I am? Sure the geekdom within the black community is growing, but it’s hardly the norm.
I’m a unicorn, a four leaf clover and shooting star, Bigfoot the evident of my existence is sparce but possible
Cuba Gooding Jr has the weirdest career. He receive acclaim and/or awards for one movie and then do nothing but shit after it. It happened with “Boys N The Hood” and “Jerry Maguire”. He’s got some talent but he must have the worst agent in Hollywood.
Yeah, I’m still down! I have to do some real world things, though, so I won’t be posting much. But I do put in a good bit of work each week on the strip, and I’m happy to do it!
Anna is almost my least favorite part of “V” right after that punk Tyler. Diana in the original “V”, which is basically who Anna is based on, was much hotter imo. While I thought Jewel Staite was cuter in “Serenity”, Baccarin didn’t look that bad in the movie. She looks like a little boy in “V”.
I guess I don’t have to “embed” YouTube videos here. This one wouldn’t let me embed it so I just pasted a link to it but, for some reason, it still shows up embedded.
it was enjoyable. dafoe was fun in this. the “cure” didnt make sence. im not spoiling it but just the way it has to spread in order for people to be cured is ridicilous
I wrote another new story. its only the first part of it tho. http://generaldark.wordpress.com/ some of you wanted to see some original stuff so here is part of my originality.
Fret not Dark one, I was angling for the nickname G.D., but I felt that the evangelically inclined might have thought I was being blasphemouus or sacriligious or something……….oh well
I didn’t have any negative church experiences. I rather liked it. The priests took us bowling and being an altar boy and actually participating in the mass made going to church less boring.
It was when I grew up and began thinking for myself that I realized how silly religion is.
In 8th grade, I was put in charge of scheduling the altar “boys”. Everytime I served, I made sure this girl I had a crush on was scheduled as well. This one cool priest knew what I was doing(I’m sure the girl did too) and used to laugh about it. Good times.
Since it was the first time I heard the song, everytime I hear The Turtles sing that, I think of “Making Mr Right”.
I never got into “That 70’s Show” until it was syndicated. It was not only surprisingly good, it’s the only time I could watch Ashton Kutcher and Wilmer Valderrama without getting angry. The Foreman parents stole the show for me. Who’d have have thought “Clarence Boddicker” could give us one of the most lovable asshole dads since “Archie Bunker”. I really wish Topher “I should have been Peter Parker” Grace got more roles. His comic timing is great.
I liked That 70’s Show, but they should have canceled it when Topher Grace wanted out. That last season or 2, especially where Jackie & Fez become an item, really hurt the show imo.
Even though it went on too long as well(especially after they had a great “final episode” last season), I think Scrubs was great.
My favorite episode was one in which he needs to go back in time, and he can’t figure out how he should do it, so he goes into the other room and there’s like half a dozen different time machines lying around. But he decides to make his own time traveling device, which consisted of blending up a smoothie with pages from Time Magazine.
catching up on my books
Ok I just finished the first 9 issues of batgirl and it was surprisingly terrific
Why wasn’t I reading this while BoP was on hiatus?????
If you like birds of prey youll like this.
Im a fan of the batfamily not the im so dark and anksty one now but the one back in chuck Dixon days and the gotham knights days where they would work together and actually communicate
If you liked that bat stuff you’ll like this book and bryan q miller’s writing
This isn’t a fan fiction love fest , there is tension and conflict between the bats but they are written with enough intelligence and respect for each other they can see past that
Oracle is just as much a star of this book as Stephanie brown and she is written here as good as any BoP book ive read . And funny , I found myself chuckling quite a bit, babs and steph are funny, first at each other then as their relationship develops they are starting to be funny with and for each other it’s a nice subtle touch on miller’s part
This book could easily be called batgirls instead
Great guest starring spot by batman robin and robin as well
Miller writes great dick and babs scenes and proved to me once again just that the 2 of them could have handled gotham on their own without the costumed army dc was pushing during BFTC. Miller’s batfolks aren’t perfect or UBER the way some writers push them just smart top notch crimefighters
Now the first art team of lee gabrett and Trevor scott… they draw one of the best back books I have ever seen bar none and maybe my favorite batman
If you cant wait for the next issue of birds of prey which was terrific btw see if your shop has some back issues of batgirl lying around
thanks for letting me throw my opinion out there
my favorite red head had a good cameo in iron man 2 kate mara she gave tony the subpoena and im not saying just because her family owns my beloved new york giants and she sings the national anthem at games now and again she is just adorable and a pretty good actress
When did “Rudy Huxtable” grow up to be so hot? She was cute for the first couple of seasons on The Cosby Show but then she hit an adolescent rough patch. I saw her on House Of Payne(except for the uncle on it, that show is God awful) and couldn’t believe how sexy she got.
WHY does anyoone watch bootlegs? someone gave me a bootleg copy of IM2, and i didnt watch it till i had seen it in the movies. i hadn’t checked out a bootleg in forever. so i put it in and its horrible i turned it off after about a minute why would you want to watch such a crappy looking and sounding version ? i cant see how that is entertaining.
Couldn’t agree with you more. I watched an Episode I bootleg. It was awful to the point of comedic… you could see the back of people’s heads and them getting up from their seats. I felt like I was watching MST3K.
Who else enjoyed the new Atlas book? Never thought I would be interesting in 3D-Man, but Parker raised my interests. For 3.99 I feel I got my money’s worth.
Oh, I forgot to tell you I read Atlas. It was everything I expected it to and that would be that is was comic book perfection…for the most part. I didn’t like the fact the the main story was only 17 pages and the second was 5. That’s STILL only 22 pages of fucking art for $3.99 Marvel. Assholes…
Yeah, the 3.99 almost made me not want to pick up this and the fact that it was only 22 pages is even more cause to hate on Marvel. But I can’t punish the creators because of the company they work for has no problem milking fans of those creators for all their worth.
Atlas. Atlas beats everything except Invincible for me.
In the near future(like in August) the King story will be done in American Vamp. It will go down to 22 pages of art BUT it will remain $3.99. That’s when I am jumping off.
I think this clip is funny just cuz Pete TOTALLY falls on his ass like your drunk uncle trying to be cool,But he COMPLETELY plays it off.Professionalism!
Back to comics…I’m sorry if ppl are tired of Seige 4, *SPOILER* but I need to understand the power surge. When I read this comic over the weekend,I just assumed the fight was in some other comic, but now I guess that’s not true? I’m just going by what I read on other websites. So,what was the point? Did Olivier just want to draw a cool splash page?
Stuff I kinda liked:I liked that the void looked like a Lovecraft Jr monster. Liked in the double page spread at the end Luke Cage looks EXACTLY like rapper/actor Common.Steve Roger almost sorta looks like Payton Manning.
Pretty much. And, ya, I thought they did this already too but it’s all different now because The Avengers are going to the future to fight their kids. It’s so exciting! And the last page reveals a swerve that has also already been done. Snoozers.
I didn’t read Avengers 1 yet,so I may be reaching, but I think Geoff john did something similar in his Teen Titans a few years back? The current teens have to fight the adult versions of themselves..Tim Drake is Bats but carries a gun etc?
oh,ok…but now that actually sounds unintentionally funny.Like one of those 50’s movies about how the adults have to get the kids in line cuz the youth are out of control listening to that damned rock n roll and be-bop jazz!
Shue was hot in “Adventures In Babysitting”. Unfortunately, that was over 20 years ago. Did you see her in Hamlet 2? After watching that movie, I realized that for every UK import like Ricky Gervais, we get a Steve Coogan & a Russell Brand. I’m so not a fan of either of those guys.
I know some people felt the ending was a cheat(I don’t think it was since the girl is telling the story herself), but I loved Haute Tension. I think there was some good stuff in Hills Have Eyes but there was just as much bad stuff. I’m kinda on the fence with that movie. While I didn’t hate Mirrors as much as you did, considering I started falling asleep during it, I definitely didn’t like it.
What about the rest of the “Splat Pack”(I hate when Hollywood makes their “clever” little takes on the Rat Pack)?
* Disliked: – Saw 3
– Saw 4
– Saw 5
– Descent(I just found it boring)
– Wolf Creek(I didn’t like the victims and it made me feel the same way you do about Bendis when he writes bad things happening to women)
– Hostel 2(the torture scene with Heather Matarazzo & the villains getting away with it just depressed me to the point that the movie seemed less ” retro exploitation movie” and more “cruel & nihilistic”
– Death Sentence
– House Of 1000 Corpses
* Fucking Hated: – Dead Silence
– Halloween & Halloween 2(not only ruined my love of Michael Myers but were worse than every awful Friday 13th & Halloween sequel put together; 2 of my least favorite movies of all time)
* Didn’t See: – Repo!(I hate musicals and hate Paris Hilton even more)
– Rogue
I believe she dropped out of B2TF 2 & 3 since her mom was battling cancer. I didn’t go to it myself, but they had a showing of the original B2TF in a town near me several months ago and the guests were Christopher Lloyd, “Det. Lubic”, “Beverly Switzler”, and the first “Jennifer”. Some guy I know went and, in addition to the ticket price, you could pay to get pictures with the cast.
I’d like to think that he’ll go down as another Rob Liefeld but who knows. Although, to be honest, for better or worse Liefeld had his own style(although he loved ripping off ideas) but Bendis will always be an amatuer writer trying his damnedest to be the next Mamet or Tarantino.
I would say that he could go down as the worst BUT Loeb and Millar are still around so that title is still up in the air. And somewhere right now Chuck Austen is smiling.
I’d say Loeb is probably worse than Bendis, but he’s more entertaining in a WTF sort of way. Millar reads like a teenager who read too many issues of The Boys(although, imho, 1 is probably too many; I quit before it moved to Dynamite). This may be an unpopular thing to say, but while Chuck Austen sucked when it came to continuity, I felt he was better at dialogue and superhero soap opera than all 3 of the above mentioned writers.
I can’t do it. None of them is better than the others in my eyes. I know that may sound like a cop out but it’s true. They all fucking suck equally as hard.
I would say I hate Loeb the most, because with Millar and Bendis there are at least a few books of there’s I enjoy to read. But with Loeb everyting that I read that had his name on it I absolutley hate, especially Rulk, and Ultimatum.
I think Chuck Austen is one of the worst writers in the industry. Bendis’s Torso was rather good and his indie work is better than his Marvel shizz.
But, Chuck Austen’s work on Action Comics turned me off of Superman for quite some time. Superman is my favorite character and that is quite a feat to accomplish.
The worst writer in the comic book industry, in my opinion, was Scott Lobdell. How I despised that man and his stupid attempts to make every character funny.
I actually think he’s not that awful.I still like some of his late 90-early 2000 stuff. It’s just that if you can make money, produce top selling comics and sit in on hollywood meetings by just hacking it out, what’s your incentive to do better work?
Bendis still wrote good books. They will stay good regardless, he’ll never be the worst writer. Torso, Alias, Goldfish, and Jinx will always prove he can write.
AND ANOTHER FUCKING THING I HATE ABOUT BENDIS!
He’s a mart guy. You guys don’t wanna admit it but in interviews he has had moments that proved he does know what he’s talking about, but the fucker won’t write a good comic cause he knows he’s guaranteed a paycheck…
but yeah he’s bad, just not the worst. (yet, at least)
Here’s the real story: I called up Bay and said “Hey twat, it’s J. I don’t want to see anymore toe thumbs in your shitty Transformers movies, capice?” To which he replied “Oh god. I just shat myself. I am so sorry. I would never do anything to anger the CCW. Consider it taken care of.”
She’s not hideous but she does absolutely nothing for me. She looks “hard”, she looks dirty(I don’t mean kinky, I mean unclean), she sounds like a real bitch, and she has a bunch of tats(except for a dick, that’s my least favorite “surprise” to find on a girl). I like “the girl next door”, not the “girl who’ll kill you in your sleep and steal your wallet”.
I like both, depending on what mood I’m in. Sometimes you need a little crazy.
I had a girlfriend who wanted for both of us to get scarred by broken glass – a symbol of our love. I knew right then and there that the relationship wouldn’t last long, but it was a fun ride.
Jose, why didn’t you do that for Jonah Hex? Somehow I doubt when that movie bombs(how can it not?) that Hex will get several more chances like The Punisher has.
I had less tolerance for curves when I was a teenager than I do now(although I have yet to date a girl who wasn’t skinny so far), but even back then I would have felt this girl was skinny.
Ha!This is like G-unit firing 50-cent for not being gangsta enuff,or the GOP telling Sarah Palin she needs to be more conservative.
I’ll bet this is really over something personal or office politics and they used the weight thing as an excuse.
Well, I just read a post on Bleeding Cool that is pissing me off. DC is pulling the same 3.99 bullshit that Marvel is. Time Masters, Mighty Crusaders and American Vampire are all going to be standard sized 3.99 books. I am really digging American Vampire and I don’t want to srop it but I can’t take much more of this bullshit. Class act DC, class act.
Oh, and those of you who are actually buying Return of Bruce Wayne, I’m going to ruin the end for you wright now he (Bruce Wayne) returns to the regular DCU hope I saved you the money. Not much different from Captain America: Reborn only the art on The Return of Bruce Wayne is a lot better. Fucking Bryan Hitch…
I hope so let’s hope they don’t pull a marvel and just show a bunch of variant covers at the end of the issue. Has there ever been a single comic to ever be $5.99?
Yes there has. Marvel has had comics in the last year that were more than that AND they were just reprints. Issue 75 of Invincible is the final part to the Viltumite War I believe so I have no doubt it will be at least double sized. The pic for this Open Thread is the cover for that issue.
this might be a dumb question, but could it be that it is the final issue of Invincible? I doubt it is, but if it was I guess I could understand the price
Hey regarding M Spot and his comments on the Return of Bruce Wayne:
The Return of Bruce Wayne isn’t supposed to be a mystery about whether or not Bruce is coming back, I mean just look at the title. I believe the book is going to shine due to the fact that we get to see 6 different re incarnations of Batman throughout time, along with Bruce Wayne adjusting to these eras. Also the fact that Grant Morrison is writing it should solidify the fact that it is going to be MUCH more entertaining/interesting than Cap Reborn.
defintely one of the best i ever read i devoured the whole series in like 5 days
my buddies and i had clubhouses in an abandoned lotin my neighborhood all during grammer school so i loved that part if the book was just about them as kids it still would have been one the best comics i ever read
i also hated/loved how he would switch the prospective of the story from one character to another and suck you back in so quick. i would be reading along really into it and loving it and suddenly he would drop the character he was following that i was loving and switch to somebody new. i was PO’d then in a couple of pages he got back into it and rooting for the new character as much as the one just left. that probably he greatest strength to be able to weave new characters and plot lines into the bigger picture so quickly and seamlessly. that and he draws great facial expressions.
I just finished reading Peter Bagge’s “Other Lives” HC… I was digging it, got to the end– then there was (2) black pages (one had “EPILOGUE” printed on it) and then the final pages were sort of nonsense to me.
I can’t stand it when something interesting ends up sputtering out and/or imploding at the end.
Man, just a cursory glance at that new Spirt issue was enough. The art looks like if Sam Kieth was shit. The colorist really earned their pagerate on that turd. Man I bet the uncolored art for that book is brutal.
what about it does’nt seem to be sure about its own time period? It looks like it takes place in the 30’s or 4o’s, yet Ivory is wearing a sports jersey, were those being worn back then? Also in a background scene their’s a guy wearing pants hiphop style.
With what I don’t like about the book , I’ll probably stick with the series.. I do like Rags artwork.
I am a HUGE Doc Savage fan. Sadly, I’ve spent years watching mainstream media completely rape this character so badly that it literally becomes USELESS for long stretches of time.
Still, some of the things done to Doc aren’t anywhere near as bad as what COULD have been. For example, I cannot tell you how relieved I was that “FATHER TIME” finally did in the proposed film version that was supposed to star Arnold Schwarzenegger. (Could you imagine? The WORLD’S SMARTEST MAN… played by Arnold Schwarzenegger?)
(DOC SAVAGE FIRST ISSUE SPOILER)
I buy a ton of trades… But I bought the first issue of Doc with mixed emotions (hope and fear).
What utter CRAP. I knew I was in for a MASSIVE SHITFEST at the VERY BEGINNING– when Doc, riding down a zip-line between his dirigible and the top of a NYC skyscraper (during a MASSIVE LIGHTNING STORM) somehow overhears two kids having a conversation on the building’s observation deck… As they run AWAY from Doc, the striking lightning bolts AND an explosion.
What? Who still writes PISS POOR SHIT like this? This is HACK WORK reserved for the burnt-out old pros that should have demanded a Page One rewrite– or, at the very least, the first several pages to be REDRAWN to properly fit the action.
Comics MASSACRE Doc and his Pulp cohorts almost every single time they attempt a “revival”. Unfortunately, The Avenger back-up in Issue #1 was only slightly any better than the lead feature… Way too wordy. (Like this post.)
I share the same concerns/problems as everyone else with this book. What is the time period for the Doc book? Tons of stuff looks 30’s/40’s– then some of the cars in the background look like those box-like 80’s Chrysler “K” cars.
I’m waiting to read Issue #2 sometime today but if it even remotely shares the same quality issues as Issue #1… I am in 2 issues and done. I doubt the book will last much longer after that. What a miserable FAIL.
Now we can all await the NEW Doc Savage movie written and directed by Shane Black. Shane is a huge pulp fan– so I hope for big things. (Yet again.)
P.S. Word of WARNING to anybody even remotely tempted to pick up DC’s recently released trade of Denny O’Neil’s old Doc Savage Mini-Series… Please do yourself a favor: DO NOT BUY THIS. One of the WORST Doc Savage stories of ALL TIME.
When I saw the trade solicitation,I remembered reading this mini years ago and really disliking it. But then I thought, “Maybe I was wrong. Maybe it was better than I remember.” Actually it is WAY WORSE than I remember. Possibly THE WORST Doc comics story, in fact. (Although this “First Wave” version of Doc and his assistants is already a close second.)
Anybody need extra paper to wipe their ass? I’ve got a whole trade paperback here BEGGING to be RECYCLED!
Wow. Why can’t these companies pay the same respect to characters like The Shadow, Doc Savage, and other pulp characters like they do with a character like lets say Batman who owes his very existence to. I know, I almost left out The Spirit which I don’t understand why DC didn’t continue with the Spirit book that Darwyn Cooke started, granted that book fell apart when Cooke left, and that bowl of diarrhea that was Frank Millar’s The Spirit didn’t help in me wanting to see the Spirit anytime soon. Also, I think that Eisner was a bit of a racist or at least had a lot of sterotypes in his writing, and I think that is why I really don’t like Frank Millar’s writing. Maybe, that is why I think that pulp characters died out in the 30’s and 40’s because they can’t meet modern sensabilies.
While Eisner’s depictions of black people would definitely be considered racist by today’s standards, I have to say, much like Gasoline Alley’s Frank King, he actually wrote the black people in his stories as real people and not just “things” to be laughed at. Sure, they were full of the racist charactures & sterotypes of the day that were cruel & hurtful, but I feel they did more with their minority characters than most of their peers were doing.
Yeah, labeling Eisner a racist is harsh and uncalled for and was not writing curtain ethnic characters out of hate but as characterization of the times. Reading those characters by today’s standards especially the early stuff Spirit stuff is tough, but I think he made up for it in his later work and his Contract With God books as well.
Also, if you think about it, as a Jew, Eisner probably wasn’t treated that well himself. Granted, he wouldn’t have stood out in a crowd as much as someone who didn’t have white skin, but he grew up in an era when Jewish people would often change their last names(or shorten them) to sound less Jewish.
I have not seen much of Eisner’s work outside of The Spirit, but if I’m to use the Spirit as a template of sorts… I would say most definitely that he used blacks as “things” to laugh at.
What irks me about Eisner is that despite the the time period, he seemed to know better, and yet put his bs racist rhetoric out anyway! Where as someone like Robert Crumb seemed to be a guy that was more a product of his environment. (not that that’s an excuse)0
I have to disagree with you. Not only was Ebony treated with respect by the other regular cast members, he was often portrayed as a hero & his skin color never came up. Eisner also wrote a black character named Detective Grey who with his “plain speaking” progressed black comic characters even farther than others at the time did.
I loved Cooke’s version of the Spirit. I’ve commented elsewhere that I don’t see anything wrong with the Evanier/Aragones version either. (I don’t know but I might be in the minority with that last opinion…) I am finishing the trades now. I really dig their more lighthearted approach– while still showcasing plenty of adult sensibilities.
It just must makes me sick that these companies license these great characters– then often hand them off to people who don’t know how (or don’t care) to write them properly.
I think most of the Pulp characters could easily work in a present day “edgy” context… Doc Savage actually sends criminals to his private “hospital” where he and other physicians basically lobotomize the “bad” right out of the criminals. The Avenger isn’t exactly a pussycat toward bad guys either.
Not sure, I like the Batman: Black and White backup series they did awhile back, and I wanted to see how this backup compared to them because the first volume of the Batman: Black and White series was good and won a Eisner.
I was so excited for these books even though I hate Azzarello on superhero comics(even those with a heavy noir influence), but they have completely failed with me. If these are going to be the only versions of these characters in comics, why change them so much from their iconic interpretations? A female Ebony? A Rima that looks like she’s out of Apocalypto? No thanks! I was hoping they added The Shadow to this line, but now I’m happy they didn’t.
Agreed, shitty execution. I have some hope with David Hine taking over the spirit but its definitely on the “one more shit issue and yer dropped” list.
what is the point of the YOUNG ALLIES title coming out? do the young avengers even sell?
has rikki barnes/nomad taken the comic world be storm? where is the market they are going to tap?
it ticks me off because rikki barnes could have been an interesting supporting character in cap
instead of the dull character starring in completely forgettable stories she is now.
My comment on this subject got deleted by Rich Johnston at Bleeding Cool… Which is hilarious since Richy Rich can type more off-color stuff in 20 minutes than I can come up with in a 24 hour day.
Censorship is definitely uncool.
That’s why I like it here… As long as you don’t mind having me.
Hey Jose, do you know when the Amory Wars series from Boom Studios is coming out? I know you and Elliot weren’t huge fans of Kill Audio but Peter David is co-authoring the series, I just can’t figure anything out when I go to Boom’s website.
Really liked atlas 1 but I wish they had a different artist. im not knocking Gabriel hardman’s talent at all just not who I would like to see on this book with the inking I felt like the whole comic takes place in darkened room with no direct sunlight in the whole issue im sure in a few issues I wont even care I will have gotten used to him
Im not crazy about john romita jr’s artwork but he draws a real nice kang
Pak and van lente write awesome comic books
The next phase of iron man looks good so far still not sure about sawyer playing tony stark though
Bryan q miller is writing big stories in a little book called batgirl
Is it me or are there suddenly a lot of women working in comics? More and more books im am reading have women I the credits. Its like some sort of deadline happened a few months ago and now all the stuff by gals that got jobs then are hitting stands.
Zantanna, nothing special, really nice cover, nice last page, some cute art, not much else
Why is avengers academy filled with z list characters you would never want to see in the avengers in a million years?
The cover for cap 607 looks awesome they should change the name of the title back to captain America and the falcon
Noh varr the protector made marko djurdjevic avengers heroic age poster I hope marvel has some kind of plan for him that involves him being in a comic
Paul renaurd’s cover for hawkeye & mockingbird #1 is pretty cool but aren’t they a little too green arrow and black canary?
Interesting art by Kevin walker in the tbolts story in enter the heroic age
Luke cage really isn’t that powerful or awesome why is he suddenly the greatest thing since sliced bread?
Did being a new avenger and not defeating the hood’s gang or the dark avengers all those fights really do that much for his reputation?
Has anyone figured out why they killed the wasp?
I bought jla because I wanted to see dick grayson lead the team he had an ok moment mostly it seemed like another event … the art the big splash pages the shoving of as many characters in a panel as they could , it all seemed like another dc event …I was turned off
speaking of the chatroom, CBdude…I am so sorry for leaving you hanging the other day. The editing of my vid took a lot longer than I had anticipated. Poor excuse, Iknow, but hopefully I can manage my time better…emphasis on hopefully 🙂

Carl is functionally retarded
i think he is awesome
ive only heard the show from the 3 posts on ccw but its hilarious
I seriously listen to this podcast almost every night before I go to bed. I fucking love it. I’ve probably listened to every episode about 4 times now. Never gets old.

I thought that clip was probably from a UK news show for kids until that last line. I think I love her!

Wha?

Been out the loop, it feels like eternity when I’m not on here
Oh…apparently LKR doesn’t like us anymore. That’s new.
J.
?
!
J.
Nah he’s has some personal issues too work out, we still back and forth finishing up Bat-mang and other things.
Ry is still down, he’ll return.
He un-friended me on facebook and took down the link he had to here from his blog. Seems quite childish to me…but then again so is me telling you about it.
J.
But did he perform the Klingon rite of discommendation, where everyone lines up in a circle and turns their back on you?
Yeah. I feel compelled to make a Star Trek reference in every open thread. It’s the only place in my life where I can.
But which is worse: you making a Star Trek comment or me knowing what the hell you are talking about?
J.
I am guilty of geek-itis myself no worries.
In fact I got it worse, I’m a black geek do you know how much of a rarity I am? Sure the geekdom within the black community is growing, but it’s hardly the norm.
I’m a unicorn, a four leaf clover and shooting star, Bigfoot the evident of my existence is sparce but possible
We will have to watch your back Deemar.. Because .. you know..
God I miss John Candy!
Lmao!
Musky it’s sad but true
RADIO RAHEEM!!
I’m glad that you recognize him as Radio Raheem as opposed to Joe Robertson. He’ll always be Radio Raheem to me.
Met him at a bar in Times Square once. Cool guy.
Yeah he’ll always be Radio
Sadly Cuba Gooding Jr will also be remember as Radio, although that simply because he’s retarded
Cuba Gooding Jr has the weirdest career. He receive acclaim and/or awards for one movie and then do nothing but shit after it. It happened with “Boys N The Hood” and “Jerry Maguire”. He’s got some talent but he must have the worst agent in Hollywood.
What?!
He didn’t tell me about that.
WTF happened in the last few days, you guys get into it?
On the the Open Thread last week. I called him out on some BS and I guess he didn’t take to kindly to it. I think you saw that though.
J.
someone has to keep me honest
Yeah, I’m still down! I have to do some real world things, though, so I won’t be posting much. But I do put in a good bit of work each week on the strip, and I’m happy to do it!
My homie returns
I’m sure I’ll get shit for this since “According To Jim” isn’t a good show, but I’m still a sucker for good physical comedy.
According to Jim the oatmeal of comedy, it still not funny.
???
Plain and tasteless
http://www.instantrimshot.com/
J.
I happen to love oatmeal. I also love Cream Of Wheat. Rastus may not be P.C. anymore but he “makes” good shit.
Hah!
Anyone watch the season finale of V? I totally didn’t get what happened at the end.
Yeah it made little sense other than ‘Mama V babies got aborted’ and she’s pissed.
V is growing on me, but man they need a better line up of actors.
What was up with the sky getting red at the end? I thought the other ships in space were gonna attack, but nothing happened. It was just confusing.
She’s an alien she’s on the rag.
It was very vague not a good ending at all
I did note the down-camera cleavage shots they did of Anna, at least twice in the episode. A bit obvious, but appreciated nonetheless.
She is fine
Very hippy I like that
Hippy? There’s nothing hippy about her.
She has curves and nice wide hips
She must got some black in her or latina sumthin
Hips
Oh, you meant hippy as in hips. Not as in dancing with flowers in her hair while singing “love and light.”
Then I must have a thing for little boys, cuz I think she’s ridiculously hot.
Well, you were Catholic.
Finally, a group I can actually without make fun of since I am one. LOL!
haven’t watched V at all. looked up this Anna wan on images.google.com. she looks a bit like Servalan http://www.sdc.org/~ragan/Servalan.jpg
Red sky? Doesn’t that mean a Crisis?
J.
Hmm?
Could very well be J, is Geoff Johns behind it all?
Has anyone seen “Daybreakers”?
I have. It was ok. Nothing great.
J.
I was surprised by how much I liked it. I never saw the Spierig Brothers’ first movie “Undead”, but I really liked this one.
I actually liked Undead a lot. You should check that out.
J.
Oh, man, you HAVE to watch Undead. That film’s a friggin’ trip. It’s way cool.
Are we agreeing again ballsack? That never leads to anything good.
J.
Sorry. It’ll never happen again.
Heh!
Frenemies
Sure, you say that now but when I go on about how much I like the new Katherine Heigl flick I am sure you’ll chime in to totally agree with me.
J.
True. What can I say, I’m your bitch.
That’s the nicest thing anyone has said to me all week.
J.
Yeah the Spierig bros, are ones too watch.
If I remember correctly they are supposed to be directing a Dark Crystal sequeal?
That’s what made me think of Daywalkers. I saw that back when it was in the theaters.
I guess I don’t have to “embed” YouTube videos here. This one wouldn’t let me embed it so I just pasted a link to it but, for some reason, it still shows up embedded.
I liked it quite a bit.
It actually tried to do something cool with vampires, if they had a bigger budget it would have been better.
it was enjoyable. dafoe was fun in this. the “cure” didnt make sence. im not spoiling it but just the way it has to spread in order for people to be cured is ridicilous
Noooo..the cure was the best part, how clever is that like dominos
I wrote another new story. its only the first part of it tho. http://generaldark.wordpress.com/ some of you wanted to see some original stuff so here is part of my originality.
Sir Porkchew! heh!
Gendy you got skills sir!
I’ll read in full and give you my thoughts tomorrow.
Deal
oh grrreeeeat deemar gives a not threatining nickname to my already super evil name! *sigh* ill get the carebear suit.
Well I think your a kid hearted fella under that DARK veneer.
So Gendy it is
😉
Fret not Dark one, I was angling for the nickname G.D., but I felt that the evangelically inclined might have thought I was being blasphemouus or sacriligious or something……….oh well
*sigh* i geuss there could alwaise be worser nicknames
Just watched this episode. I never get tired of That 70’s Show.
Never watched it, but Mila Kunis is super hot. And that’s all I have to say about that.
Well said, sir.
She gives me funny feelings like I used to get back when I was an altar boy.
J.
I was an altar boy too. But I never got funny feelings. The priests at my church were all alcoholics, not child molesters.
Missed opportunity
Mine were both.
J.
Hah!
The jab was on the tip of my tongue
No wonder you’re always so anti-religion. I figured you either had a “born again” in the family or were a lapsed Catholic.
I was an altar boy but my priests weren’t playing grab ass and, to my knowledge, they weren’t heavy drinkers.
Good times.
I like the tall readhead chick
*what am I saying of course I do..*
She was in an episode of House this season but her hair was blond. Why would she do that?
J.
Probaly because she can bank more jobs as a blonde.
She is 10 times hotter as a redhead.
Damn skippy Hecky, damn skippy!
Her and Christina Hendrix should mud wrestle in my dreams!
You do know Hendricks is not a natural red head right?
LA LA LA LA LA! I can’t hear you! LA LA LA LA!
J.
Trust me that isn’t a deal breaker. But, toe thumbs and bad acting are, YOU HEAR ME Megan Fox! hehe
Indeed.
J.
*sipping tea and eating crumpets*
I SAY GOOD DAY SIR!!
*Puts down tea in annoyed fashion*
Good DAY!
*Returns to drinking tea*
I agree. The only time I really thought Mila Kunis was that hot was in “Forgetting Sara Marshall” and …
I was tempted to watch American Psycho 2, just because of Mila Kunis.
And Shatner, of course.
Damn that movie was terrible. Fucking terrible. And the fact that they called it American Psycho 2? Inexcusable.
J.
Has she filled out at all. Last time I saw her… she was a pretty face’ resting on top a bag-o-bones.
Holy fuck…
J.
Malkovich was creepy even as a young man, maybe even creepier he was young so he could stalk you for hours.
Probably the last great sitcom in my opinion.
I liked That 70’s Show, but they should have canceled it when Topher Grace wanted out. That last season or 2, especially where Jackie & Fez become an item, really hurt the show imo.
Even though it went on too long as well(especially after they had a great “final episode” last season), I think Scrubs was great.
Agreed
The last great sitcom was Get A Life.
Oh!
I loved this show it has ahead of its time.
Family Guy and Always Sunny in Philadelphia owe a debt to Chris Elliot
Plus he made a hot daughter
im another huge fan of this show i though my sister and i were the only 2 that ever watched it
Dude, Get A Life is one of Avi’s FAVORITE shows ever.
J.
Same here. Give Avi a fist bump for me.
Avi has good taste
Remember the alien he eat lol
I used to love “Get A Life”. I remember an episode that ended where they were kicking around someone’s head. I need to rewatch that show.
My favorite episode was one in which he needs to go back in time, and he can’t figure out how he should do it, so he goes into the other room and there’s like half a dozen different time machines lying around. But he decides to make his own time traveling device, which consisted of blending up a smoothie with pages from Time Magazine.
Anyone catch the Smallville season finale? Had a pretty sweet opening. Makes one wish we could get a flat out Superman show.
I watched the opening. That was neat.
Gives me hope that the series can pull itself together.
it always surprises me how the commercials during smallville are aimed girls/women
i keep forgetting how many fangirls that show has
catching up on my books
If you cant wait for the next issue of birds of prey which was terrific btw see if your shop has some back issues of batgirl lying around
thanks for letting me throw my opinion out there
I had the hots for Belinda Carlisle when she became a redhead.
I wub u Musky
🙂
my favorite red head had a good cameo in iron man 2 kate mara she gave tony the subpoena and im not saying just because her family owns my beloved new york giants and she sings the national anthem at games now and again she is just adorable and a pretty good actress
Oooh yeah Kate Mara, her family owns the NY Giants.
Yeah she another curvy package of goodness
Very nice.
And I never would have guessed she’s the daughter of the Mara family. Being a Giants fan as well, I feel like I should have known that.
It makes her even hotter, not only does she have a vagina she can also get you good tickets maybe boxseats.
If only she was an heiress too a beer company also, she would be my personal holy Trinity
hey Jose, I’m bettin’ she’s already on your radar, but if not….
how’s this for a connection between Chris Elliot and redheads?
wow her mom must be beautiful to counteract his genes
great post
i have to look her up see whats she has been in
She is a cutie!
She got her father’s funny gene, she does a spot on Rachel Maddow and Angelina Jolie.
J.
That’s just silly
And by “silly” you mean “fucking awesome” right?
J.
Yes..yes I do
Hah!!
J.
J.
love tom waits. genius is the only word to describe him other than bad ass
gotta love chris
I’m sleeping holla
When did “Rudy Huxtable” grow up to be so hot? She was cute for the first couple of seasons on The Cosby Show but then she hit an adolescent rough patch. I saw her on House Of Payne(except for the uncle on it, that show is God awful) and couldn’t believe how sexy she got.
http://www.zimbio.com/Keshia+Knight+Pulliam/articles/8/Keisha+Knight+Pulliam+Rudy+Booty
“From Rudy to Booty.” Gotta love that.
i hope she is working and keeping out of trouble
child stars have some bad track records
So do children of child stars. Dana Plato’s son killed himself a week or 2 ago almost 11 years to the day that his mom o.d.’d.
You didn’t know?
Rudy gots the booty
Anyone watch the Nanny? Madeline Zima is all grown up too 🙂
Plus, Californication is the shit.
For 3.99 I feel I got my money’s worth.
interested
I just got home from work and haven’t read any comics yet but Atlas will be the first one I check out. I’ll let you know later.
J.
Assholes…
J.
Yeah, the 3.99 almost made me not want to pick up this and the fact that it was only 22 pages is even more cause to hate on Marvel. But I can’t punish the creators because of the company they work for has no problem milking fans of those creators for all their worth.
And why the hell is American Vampire 3.99?
American Vamp has 32 pages of art currently. It’s worth the $3.99 for the issue. The last two were the same price and also had 32 pages of art.
J.
So, if you had to choose between American Vampire and Atlas which would you choose? Choose wisely. Hehe.
Atlas. Atlas beats everything except Invincible for me.
In the near future(like in August) the King story will be done in American Vamp. It will go down to 22 pages of art BUT it will remain $3.99. That’s when I am jumping off.
J.
Good to know.
Today is Pete Townsend’s birthday.
I think this clip is funny just cuz Pete TOTALLY falls on his ass like your drunk uncle trying to be cool,But he COMPLETELY plays it off.Professionalism!
happy birthday pete
love his version of this song
I haven’t been to my LCS yet, no comics for me
😦
I don’t think that americans know the legend that is Alf Stewart yet?
Was that the actual dialogue? It sounded like it was being dubbed but it looked like what they were saying matched their lips.
nah thats made up dialogue, just like this is
this is some of the real dialogue, strewth, strike me roan ya flamin galah!
Other than Atlas, I’m curious if any of you bought any “Heroic Age” books today. Was it the same old stuff or was any of it worthy of the hype?
Well, just got finished reading Avengers #1 and here is a recap of that issue. And no, I am not fucking joking.
J.
Their kids are assholes?
Wasn’t that already done in the M2 Universe as well as that direct-to-video Marvel cartoon from a couple years ago?
Pretty much. And, ya, I thought they did this already too but it’s all different now because The Avengers are going to the future to fight their kids. It’s so exciting! And the last page reveals a swerve that has also already been done. Snoozers.
J.
I didn’t read Avengers 1 yet,so I may be reaching, but I think Geoff john did something similar in his Teen Titans a few years back? The current teens have to fight the adult versions of themselves..Tim Drake is Bats but carries a gun etc?
But this is the Avengers fighting their kids, not themselves.
J.
“The Heroic Age”: where even an Avenger’s children can’t stop them from acting “heroic”.
Maybe Hawkeye will shoot an arrow into his kid’s head.
oh,ok…but now that actually sounds unintentionally funny.Like one of those 50’s movies about how the adults have to get the kids in line cuz the youth are out of control listening to that damned rock n roll and be-bop jazz!
That is,the the plot of heroes fighting their children is unintentionally funny.Sorry I haven’t been more clear with these posts.
so the only difference is girls hair?
If you are talking about Back to the Future and not the Avengers, no. It’s a completely different actress.
J.
I think the original “Jennifer” is better looking than that bitch who broke Daniel-san’s heart.
Was there any official reason why they didn’t use the original actress who played Jennifer?
I thought she turned down being in two more movies. Either way Shue was better imo. She will rock in Piranha 3D. Can’t wait.
J.
Stellar career move, if that’s the case.
Have you seen pics of Shue from that flick? She is fucking ripped!
http://www.dreadcentral.com/img/news/jun09/shue.jpg
J.
Yeah, you showed me that before. Keep your pants on, bro. The movie will be out soon enough.
Incidentally, I preferred original Jennifer. Shue’s performance was a bit too campy for my liking.
But have you seen pics of Shue from that flick? She is fucking ripped!
J.
God damn you Smartass. You will pay…though it’s hard to argue your comment. 😦
J.
I wish she would give me a hug with her vice like embrace!
Since you’re talking Piranha 3D, what did you think about Aja’s “Haute Tension(High Tension)”, “Hills Have Eyes”, and “Mirrors”.
Loved Haute Tension, was meh on Hills Have Eyes and fucking hated, HATED Mirrors. At this rate Piranha 3D could be the worst movie I will ever see.
J.
Good for you man!
What about the rest of the “Splat Pack”(I hate when Hollywood makes their “clever” little takes on the Rat Pack)?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Splat_Pack
Rest of the Splat Pack, huh? OK…
Loved The Decent.
Liked Cabin Fever, The Devil’s Rejects, Wolf Creek, the fist Saw, Repo: The Genetic Opera, Rogue.
Was meh on Halloween, Dog Soldiers, Hostel, Dead Silence.
Hated Halloween 2, Saw 2 and 3.
Wow. I have seen every flick on that list that has been released. Crazy.
J.
* Loved: – Doomsday
– Cabin Fever
– Hostel
* Liked: – Saw
* Meh: – Saw 2
– Saw 6
– Dog Soldiers
– Devil’s Rejects
* Disliked: – Saw 3
– Saw 4
– Halloween & Halloween 2(not only ruined my love of Michael Myers but were worse than every awful Friday 13th & Halloween sequel put together; 2 of my least favorite movies of all time)
* Didn’t See: – Repo!(I hate musicals and hate Paris Hilton even more)
– Rogue
That’s pretty funny: “splat pack.” I didn’t know there was a term for this collection of filmmakers.
The rest of the movies I didn’t list I was really just indifferent about.
J.
Do you think that Bendis will go down as a bad Marvel writer or the worst Marvel writer?
I’d like to think that he’ll go down as another Rob Liefeld but who knows. Although, to be honest, for better or worse Liefeld had his own style(although he loved ripping off ideas) but Bendis will always be an amatuer writer trying his damnedest to be the next Mamet or Tarantino.
I would say that he could go down as the worst BUT Loeb and Millar are still around so that title is still up in the air. And somewhere right now Chuck Austen is smiling.
J.
Their can be only one.
I think I may actually have to agree with you on the Austen point.
J.
How would you rate Bendis, Millar, and Loeb from bad to worse?
I can’t do it. None of them is better than the others in my eyes. I know that may sound like a cop out but it’s true. They all fucking suck equally as hard.
J.
I’m having the same problem. I really don’t think I can say who the worst is, just that I don’t like any of them.
“He” meaning Bendis. But thinking about it,what I wrote could probably apply in varying degrees to the others as well.
That is true.
J.
*smart
TF3: No Twins or Toe-Thumbs
http://social.entertainment.msn.com/movies/blogs/the-hitlist-blogpost.aspx?post=1758566&_blg=1,1758566
I miss her already.
This story says she was the one who decided to leave. http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1639627/20100519/story.jhtml
Who’s right? Who’s wrong? Stay tuned.
The End.
J.
Yeah, just look at her thumbs. My god, this woman is hideous.
Hmmmm…I think I smell some sarcasm…
J.
Heh…I’m sure it was. I’m sure it was.
I’ve been there before myself.
J.
Jose, why didn’t you do that for Jonah Hex? Somehow I doubt when that movie bombs(how can it not?) that Hex will get several more chances like The Punisher has.
I’ll make a few calls and see what I can do.
J.
I see Jonah Hex failing on every level. Not just for Fox though.
Even though I don’t like Megan Fox.
I despise Megan Fox but I think the blame for the movie’s inevitable failure belongs to the 2 hacks that brought us the “classics” Crank & Crank 2.
She was fired for being too fat???
http://www.myfoxdc.com/dpp/news/offbeat/130-lb-hooters-waitress-told-to-lose-weight-to-keep-job-051810
For fuck’s sake…It’s shit like this that makes me want to rage.
J.
I had less tolerance for curves when I was a teenager than I do now(although I have yet to date a girl who wasn’t skinny so far), but even back then I would have felt this girl was skinny.
I wouldn’t even call her curvy. Just skinny.. Ridiculous to fire her.
Ha!This is like G-unit firing 50-cent for not being gangsta enuff,or the GOP telling Sarah Palin she needs to be more conservative.
I’ll bet this is really over something personal or office politics and they used the weight thing as an excuse.
Event comics are useless.
Sorry, I just have to get that off my chest.
Well, you’re pretty much correct with that assessment.
J.
A Spoiler Alert would have been nice. Sigh…
J.
Very funny.
J.
Hey guys did anyone see how much Invincible 75 is going to cost? If you haven’t it’s going to be $5.99!!!! What the hell Kirkman?
Wait, WHAT!
looked it up on Comixology and TFAW I couldn’t believe it myself. Book better be the size of a trade paper back
Well, something tells me that it will have more than 22 pages of art. Just a guess.

J.
that’s nuts I can’t believe people would pay $5.99 for a marvel book lol
Isn’t there a David Mack book for like 6 dollars coming out next month?
lol, who’d even pay $1 for his shit? overexerted, unconventional, art school student wannabe nonsense
And he traces other peoples art. Don’t forget that.
J.
altho the cover looked kinda cool…
this might be a dumb question, but could it be that it is the final issue of Invincible?
Or just not make any sense at the end.
I’m puttin’ ten bucks on that horse to win the race Heck, I’m Listening. 🙂
J.
Put me down for 20 😉
Put me down for 30. 🙂

Homemade War Machine outfit. Pretty cool.
Wow! pretty damn cool..
But part of me wishes that mini-gun would suddenly kick on and take out the audience.
::Audience Cheers::
::Click.. Whir… Mini-gun begins to spin::
::Burruuuppprrrapppp::
::Cheers turn to screams of terror as the audience tries to flee::
WarMachine guy: “Who’s laughing now motherfuckers! Who’s laughing now!”
I think perhaps I have put too much thought into this.
Was that you ballsack? Please tell me it was.
J.
No, my homemade costume will be from Josie & The Pussycats. I’m still working on the ears.
To all of you curious as to what the greatest comic ever written is…
I am only on volume 3. I have to catch up. But I do love it so. 🙂
J.
I’ve never read anything better than this series.
Its basically Grant Morrison, Alan Moore, Warren Ellis all mixed in a blender with a touch of Rock N Roll, and you have an epic comic.
You mean the greatest comic ever written isn’t Batman Vs. Predator?
Shit, I thought it was Superman/Batman VS Vampires/Warewolves…
Oh gawd… Please don’t remind me. I bought that Trade!
Ouch!
J.
defintely one of the best i ever read i devoured the whole series in like 5 days
my buddies and i had clubhouses in an abandoned lotin my neighborhood all during grammer school so i loved that part if the book was just about them as kids it still would have been one the best comics i ever read
i also hated/loved how he would switch the prospective of the story from one character to another and suck you back in so quick. i would be reading along really into it and loving it and suddenly he would drop the character he was following that i was loving and switch to somebody new. i was PO’d then in a couple of pages he got back into it and rooting for the new character as much as the one just left. that probably he greatest strength to be able to weave new characters and plot lines into the bigger picture so quickly and seamlessly. that and he draws great facial expressions.
Double Ouch!
Sounds like most of my second dates.
J.
Man, just a cursory glance at that new Spirt issue was enough. The art looks like if Sam Kieth was shit. The colorist really earned their pagerate on that turd. Man I bet the uncolored art for that book is brutal.
Those Fist Wave books are turning out to be shit.
J.
The problem with First Wave is it can’t decide if it wants to be noir, pulp action, or striaght up superheroics.
1.) Batman shouldn’t be there.
2.) Spirit doesn’t fit in with Doc Savage.
3.) Doc Savage is played like he’s the lead and he’s the least interesting.
Where’s Crimson Avenger and guys like that? I know they couldn’t get the Shadow, but still…
what about it does’nt seem to be sure about its own time period?
Miller, but honestly what’s the difference.
That’s why I threw in the Contract with God series which is pretty mcuh about growing up in a poor Jewish neighborhood.
Agreed, did you read the Black and White backups for The Spirit and if so what did you think.
I did not.
I’ve only ventured down “Doc Savage Lane” so far.
From what I can tell, this may have been the proper course.
The 1st Avenger backup (in Doc Savage #1) was OK… I’m going to go read the second installment shortly.
How are the backups?
Not sure, I like the Batman: Black and White backup series they did awhile back, and I wanted to see how this backup compared to them because the first volume of the Batman: Black and White series was good and won a Eisner.
Great idea! Shitty execution!
I have to admit, I was never too interested in Doc Savage. I respect the character for being one of the first pulp heroes though.
I honestly don’t think the Spirit and Doc Savage fit together.
Anyone read Zantanna #1 yet?
Sorry, I haven’t. I did buy it though. I’ll get back to you tomorrow about it.
J.
Sweet. I’m considering picking it up tommorow. I like the character and Paul Dini.
what is the point of the YOUNG ALLIES title coming out? do the young avengers even sell?
has rikki barnes/nomad taken the comic world be storm? where is the market they are going to tap?
it ticks me off because rikki barnes could have been an interesting supporting character in cap
instead of the dull character starring in completely forgettable stories she is now.
No clue. Never. No. No where. Agreed.
So anyone else feel like Zatanna 1 was a sad attempt to be as cool as Birds of Prey 1?
Yeah… Damn it, I knew no good would come from a Paul Dini Comic… I’ll give him one more chance tho.
yeah zantanna didnt do much for me either and i havent been impressed with any of the paul dini comics ive read
This brought a smile to my face.

Makes me smile too.
Thanks for the link.
Owned.
thats how you pwn noobs. hehe
That cunt Erro got slapped good and proper. I hope more artists go after him like this.
that is just as bad or worse then what nick simmons did
My comment on this subject got deleted by Rich Johnston at Bleeding Cool… Which is hilarious since Richy Rich can type more off-color stuff in 20 minutes than I can come up with in a 24 hour day.
Censorship is definitely uncool.
That’s why I like it here… As long as you don’t mind having me.
this is Sparta….sorry guys, but I’m hooked now! 🙂
Hey Jose, do you know when the Amory Wars series from Boom Studios is coming out? I know you and Elliot weren’t huge fans of Kill Audio but Peter David is co-authoring the series, I just can’t figure anything out when I go to Boom’s website.
Sometime this month.

Random thoughts reading this weeks comics
I bought jla because I wanted to see dick grayson lead the team he had an ok moment mostly it seemed like another event … the art the big splash pages the shoving of as many characters in a panel as they could , it all seemed like another dc event …I was turned off
Romita draws a great Kang but a HORRIBLE Steve Rogers….just horrible.
Agreed, his Steve Rogers looks like a pre-teen Swedish boy.
good description. 🙂
Hey are any of you guys open for going on the chatroom tonight? Since it’s the weekend for me I can stay up late 🙂
speaking of the chatroom, CBdude…I am so sorry for leaving you hanging the other day. The editing of my vid took a lot longer than I had anticipated. Poor excuse, Iknow, but hopefully I can manage my time better…emphasis on hopefully 🙂
