On a side note… is anybody out there as put off by E’s Astro Boy dol…um, I mean, action figure as I am? No? I guess its just me! 😉

  2. I’d like to talk about how much it sucks that i stay at my parents place for the next to weeks (like 2hr flight away from where i live) so i can’t pick up my comic books. i mean there’s a comic book store nearby but i have a subscription with my comic dealer and i dont rly wanna buy my stuff twice.
but i might pick up doomwar after watching your guys video about it.

  3. Dan Griffin says:

Any one see that new Comic company, GG Studios? They seem to be an italian comic company but what i want to know is. In the Previews, they had two comics in it…will these comics be in English or Italian?

  4. Dan Griffin says:

Siege #4 Pushed back into May.

It looks like Marvel in a CA: Reborn mess again.

    • Where did you read about that Dan?

      J.

      • ...dj...sweet says:

Diamond’s shipping update is pretty official. A lot of stuff getting pushed.

So basically Avengers #1 comes out 2 weeks before Siege is even over.

        • ...dj...sweet says:

sorry, 1 week. Avengers is still scheduled to ship the 5th.

        • Dan Griffin says:

It’s a good thing i was only buying Siege and not it’s tie-ins.

Oh and Ultimate Comics Enemy was pushed back from April to May also.

Bendis said he added more pages to the comics so nobody should worry.

        • Ah, ok. Thanks dj. I haven’t gotten a change to look at our Diamond Dateline yet.

          J.

          • SMARTASS8 says:

Tom Brevoort has already stated that Siege will be completed before Flash:Rebirth #6 and Blackest Night #8 come out.

            http://74.125.95.132/search?q=cache:_YvXjZI0aZAJ:robot6.comicbookresources.com/2009/11/blackest-night-vs-siege-place-your-bets/+tom+brevoort+flash+rebirth+blackest+night+siege&cd=2&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us

I’m sure his response to his being wrong on both counts(if Blackest Night #8 actually comes out on March 31st) is that he was just kidding and internet fanboys take him too seriously. What a scumbag!

I also love that when Grant Morrison took a page from JoeyQ’s book and said that Final Crisis would kick Secret Invasion’s ass, Bendis had a hissy fit and started spreading rumors of Final Crisis’ behind-the-scenes problems. Even if they were correct, how does he have any right to spread DC’s private info to the general public? It’s a good thing no one in DC’s camp reacted just as “maturely” after the whole Deadpool/Blackest Night incentive cover debacle.

Even though DC is far from innocent when it comes to publishing crap(*COUGH*James Robinson*COUGH*Tony Daniel*COUGH*), Marvel not only does that, but it seems like most of their “talent” act like complete asshats behind the scenes and in public. Everytime I read some quote from Brevoort, Bendis, Millar, JoeyQ, etc, I reach a level of anger normally reserved for Oprah Winfrey & her cult of housewives.

  5. Bobcat1489 says:

So First MARVEL announces the HEROIC AGE, then they anounce the AVENGERS w/ BUCKY CAP, IRONMAN, THOR, HAWKEYE, and SPIDER-WOMAN, then the SECRET AVENGERS w/ 6 unkowns ??????, and now the NEW AVENGER w/ LUKE CAGE, SPIDER-MAN, and WOLVERINE so far. Also a new THUNDERBOLTS team which LUKE CAGE is supposedly going to lead, and!!! WE ARE THE X-MEN which who knows if WOLVERINE is going to be in. Can someone help me make sense of all of this? Whats the need for so many teams in the MARVEL U????? HERALDS and AVENGERS ACADEMY just to name a couple of more teams announced.

    • Mike F says:

Basically, its like what Hollywood does with their remakes. They think oh this movie sold well so lets remake it in the hopes of the same die hard fans buying their ticket.

They canceled all those other Avenger titles, now so they can start fresh. In the hopes they will sell more since its NEW.

However, Brubaker’s is worth looking at. At least he is “usually” good…

    • MANACONDA! says:

i think they just want to appeal to as many people as possible. whether this works or not is up in the air.

not everyone wants regular avengers so they got new avengers and secret avengers, dont want avengers? we got thunderbolts! yeah i dont like luke cage being in new avengers and thunderbolts either, that one baffles me as well. and id wish theyd branch out and use a name other then avengers but i guess that name sells so why fix what aint broke…

looking forward to heralds though. its only 5 issues, and i like kathryn immonen a lot.

      • heckimlistening says:

I hate how Wolverine and Spiderman are Avengers. I don’t mind if they help out occasion, but Wolvie is an X-Men and Pete just always flys solo.

  6. izzy4684 says:

Marvel should just change its name to Bendis World, because all these “ideas” only make sense to Bedis and Joey Q.

  7. Venom829 says:

I’m looking forward to last months sales to see if Blackest Night topped Siege, I sure hope it did, even tho’ it seems to be improving SLOWLY

  8. Pobra says:

new pic up in fan art. DEATH TO THIEVES!!!

  9. tomstewdevine says:

Is seige really pushed back until may? what a joke this will screw up all the other titles tied into this. And then the Heroic Age, this will last for a short time before the big brains a marvel will start even bigger, even better EVENTS. sigh. I think its time for a new editor, Joe time to step down.

  10. Deemar says:

Avengers seems to hurdling down the same road as the X-books in the 90s

    Don’t these guys learn anything

  11. JohnnyHorror92182 says:

    Top Picks of the Week:

“The Green Hornet” #1 by Kevin Smith & Jonathan Lau from DYNAMITE ENTERTAINMENT

“Wolverine: Weapon X” #11 by Jason Aaron & Ron Garney from Marvel Comics

“Batwoman in Detective Comics” #862 by Greg Rucka & JOCK from DC Comics

    • heckimlistening says:

Was Green Hornet good? I plan to pick it up since I digg Kevin Smith. Actually, I’ve been kind of excited for it!

      • JohnnyHorror92182 says:

I thought it was a pretty good first issue. It’s setting things up, laying out the ground work for the series.

  12. Has anyone seen the new Kick-Ass trailer yet?

    Here’s the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_9FZ1463sw

I have no idea WHY this is being made into a movie. All the naughty jokes and swearing is making my brain hurt…

  13. generaldark says:

i like how they gave a free iron man handout by matt fraction.

    • Pobra says:

Yeah, I know! A good gesture from marvel towards their fans, it’s almost unbelievable. Granted, they probably only did it to suck in new readers and cash in on the hype surrounding IM2, but still, a pretty cool move I must say. I hope to see more of that and less of the douchey crap we’ve been seeing lately from them in the years to come.

      • I don’t think it was a coincidence that on the SAME day Marvel released IIM #1 for free they also released an new oversized hardcover version of Invincible Iron Man Vol 1.

        J.

        • Pobra says:

hehe, well now it all makes perfect sense… oh Marvel, when will your appreciation for your fans outweigh your impetuous greed??

  14. chipsahoy says:

Did anyone read Cry For Justice #7? Just read the spoilers for it, and it sound horrific. BTW, I’m about to blow the lid on all the big developments.

Apparently it wasn’t enough to tear off Roy Harper’s arm, Robinson killed his daughter, Lian. He also had Prometheus blow up much of Star City. How did it end? Well, Green Arrow killed Prometheus, shot him between the eyes. Now we have a really bad DC screw up to hate on.

    • JohnnyHorror92182 says:

Oh, quit your crying. Prometheus had it coming and it’s not like this isn’t the first time Green Arrow killed a guy.

      • Umm…I don’t think he was crying so much as stating his OPINION. You know, it’s that thing you do all the time when you comment on here while everyone else is respectful enough not to jump down your fucking throat if they don’t agree with you.

Also, I agree with chipsahoy. Cry for Justice was a huge piece of shit. See? That’s my fucking opinion.

        J.

        • SMARTASS8 says:

I hate what they’ve done to Roy. I could almost accept the loss of his arm, but by killing his kid, they took away most of his appeal for me(being a single father superhero made him far more interesting than his being Ollie’s ward or an ex-junkie). While I really don’t want to see Green Arrow go back to being written like Mike Grell’s violent vigilante(although I did like Grell’s GA when I was younger), at least it made sense for Ollie to cross the “superheroes don’t kill” line. Let’s just hope they don’t turn the entire DCU into a world of murderers ala JoeyQ’s Marvel. Brightest Day???

    • izzy4684 says:

Read it, hated it! It just made no sense. It was mayhem with a real point. And killing Lian was just a low blow, could Robinson Screw over Roy Harper anymore? I mean hes been a drug addict, hes been shot in the heart, his daughter was kidnapped by pedifiles, i mean give him a break! It was just a bad mini that finally ended.

    • Morlock50 says:

Thanks for the spoilers. I don’t have to buy it now. 🙂

I think C4J had some well documented problems with plot & execution. I’m still willing to give JLA a try, and I actually liked issue #42. I just hope the events here don’t completely overtake that title, and it goes away like Amazons Attack.

  15. ullar says:

Damn. I was hoping DC wouldn’t turn GA into a villain. At least GA will be readable now. Does anyone know what happened to Kid Flash? I thought it was coming out with Flash but I haven’t heard about it in a while.

    • JohnnyHorror92182 says:

They’re not. He’s still a super hero they are just putting him through some dark times. Kid Flash is around but the new Flash series hasn’t started yet and I’m quite sure he’ll be a part of it. I also heard he will be appearing back in the pages of Teen Titans in the coming months.

  18. Mike F says:

By any Chance Jose/Elliot, do you either of you think the new Flash series is even worth buying? I mean, with Hal I was lenient seeing Barry Allen come back feels so cliche and contradicting to comics in general. IDK, see the reason I ask is cause I’m a die hard flash fan who buys anything Flash but I’m starting to learn that companies don’t always care about the die hard fans they just wanna make some money with a popular character. And Johns is a good writer but IDK. hopeing for a 2nd voice on this… =\

    • To be quite honest with you I won’t be picking up the new Flash series for these reasons:

      I don’t care for Francis Manapul’s art
I don’t care for Barry Allen
There should only be one Flash and that Flash is Wally West

I really don’t like the fact that Wally has been relegated to a supporting character all because Johns has a hard on for Barry Allen. To me this is no different than Bendis’ New Avengers consisting of characters he has a hard on for. Doesn’t matter that most of these characters are terrible, it only matters that these writer’s get to do what they want because they are the top writer’s within their companies.

      J.

      • Mike F says:

Absolutely agree. Barry died a dignified death, and bringing him back basically says from the writer’s view “…yeah we ran out of ideas, so…. lets bring back some dead hero.”

I didn’t like it when Hal was brought back but as time went by I became okay with it. But, Since Grant Morrison’s and Mark Millar’s run on the Flash I’ve been collecting the Wally issues, and they had some great moments and some poor ones but overall it made sense. It wasn’t this rebirth new issue nonsense. Same thing with Steve Rogers.

Its so insulting to the reader when you say “hey all those years of collecting Wally comics well guess what, he’s been demoted.”

I guess my main reason behind it was, being such a fan of the character I don’t wanna miss out on anything, but IDK, I can’t guarantee that if its Johns, then it’ll be gold. At least I got time until the issue comes out to make my choice. Thanks for the reply.

        • SMARTASS8 says:

I could be wrong, but I thought Wally West was Johns’ Flash of choice? Even though Wally was the first Flash I read about(I picked up #1 post-Crisis in the 1980’s), I’m happy about Barry coming back. As soon as they revive Bruce, Aquaman, and J’onn J’onzz(it’s only a matter of time for all of them), the original JLA will all be around for the first time in decades. It also doesn’t mean that Wally has to be a background character(let’s hope I’m not wrong). I’m also not one of those who feel Barry’s death is too important for him to be revived. Not only has practically every other status quo from the post-Crisis On Infinite Earths DCU been erased, it’s still just a fictional character with a fictional death. At the end of the day, it’s just a bunch of ink on paper. Having said all that, I’m not mocking those of you who feel otherwise. I’ve been plenty upset with what has happened to Hawkeye and Scarlet Witch. LOL

          • Morlock50 says:

Did they kill Hawkeye too? Bad time to be a bow & arrow dude in comics, man.

            • SMARTASS8 says:

Bendis had Hawkeye die twice thanks to Scarlet Witch going nuts over her discovering the truth about her “children” even though that was already rectified years ago(during Byrne’s West Coast Avengers I believe). He then brought Clint back to life where he went looking for Wanda to kill her, ended up sleeping with her when he saw she didn’t have her memory(that’s rape in my book), and then became a murderous ninja. I can’t think of any worse treatment of a superhero by any writer.

  19. tomstewdevine says:

I agree Mike F, some books just dont get the respect they should from there company, but Johns loves the flash so i am sure he will give it the royal treatment, and put some heart into it. I am at least on board for the first arc.

    • Mike F says:

thanks for the reply. I will no doubt check out the first arch. But I was still happy with Wally as the flash… I have faith he’ll do good, but I’m hoping things get more on track soon. enough of these rebirths, brand new starts etc.

  20. Brandon Fried says:

IGN just posted a preview for Andy Clarke’s upcoming arc on Batman and Robin, I think Clarke’s art is going to rule the story for sure.

    http://comics.ign.com/articles/107/1074413p1.html

  21. Variant Girl says:

How about how much I hate Girl Comics #1- it’s a sad day for us Fangirls. Our high hopes gonzo 😦

  22. Matthew Guy says:

Gail Simone leaving Wonder Woman means a sad day in DC Nation today.

I look forward to Birds of Prey vol. 2 & hopefully her replacement will be Greg Rucka.

    Matthew

    • Morlock50 says:

Terrible fucking news. But at least Gail left the title much better than she found it. Hell, she saved the character after the Picoult shitstorm and the Amazon Attack clusterfuck.
